Cold Weather Under Armor
mgb1016 replied to Jaltrooper's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I use a set of black thermal underwear from Walmart during outdoor cold weather events. -
Wow, they got this one up and going quick!!! Can't wait to see one in person!
-
My kit's an MTK and I've wondered why he isn't on our vendor list too. On the Trooperbay Facebook page he posts sale links for TK/TD armor in his eBay store, the most recent one was just a few weeks ago.

Now THAT is awesome!!!
-
OMG that is flippin' awesome!!!! I love the DVD player (and the Episode choice, as I'm an ESB TK lol)
-
These conversions are always amazing. Though I don't think I would ever have the patience to do one lol.

My Captain Phasma-Almost finished
mgb1016 replied to Danvers14's topic in Captain Phasma - TFA and TLJ
Beautiful kit!! I admire anyone up to tackling a Phasma build. I hear it's one heck of a chore and just the paint job alone is grueling. Great job! -
Neck seal bib - excess fabric?
mgb1016 replied to kamikaze's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I tuck mine in or else it bunches up like in your pic. -
That looks awesome!! I like what you did adding the fleece and the cool fabric. I may add that in mine!

I use one of these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Footlocker-Black/16415912 Holds everything except the bucket, which I have a helmet bag for. And it all fits very easily in my itty bitty Fiat lol.

Installing Foam Padding for Armor Pieces
mgb1016 replied to TK 22686's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Industrial strength Velcro. I tried using E6000 and even Zap-A-Gap (even though I hate that stuff with a passion) on the foam in my forearms and it just wouldn't stay. Since I put the Velcro on them, they haven't budged, and it's easy to reposition later if you need to. -
Using rare earth magnets or clamps will help it stay in place, as long as you leave them on for at least 24 hours.

Rogue One Stormtrooper Back Pack part found
mgb1016 replied to Sly11's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Man even though my armor is ESB, I want to make one of these!!! And this one looks like it may be easier to do than a standard HWT or TD pack. At least in my inexperienced eyes. -

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS* The Case of the Orange Crates
mgb1016 replied to gmrhodes13's topic in Off Topic
I don't know if they're of any significance to the film, but I think I want to build one -
E6000 hands-down. If you make a mistake it's much easier to take apart but takes 24 hours to fully set. Zap-A-Gap is evil. It dries almost instantly and is a major pain if you need to take something apart. A piece of my left index fingerprint is still stuck in the inside seam of one of my biceps!

Foam lining inside your Armor
mgb1016 replied to TKZombie's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I've got a strip of this in both forearms and thighs: https://trooperbay.com/yellow-foam-costume-or-armor-fitting-strips Super Glue and Zap-A-Gap (hate that stuff!!) was just too messy to attach them with, plus they didn't hold (neither did E6000) so I used adhesive industrial strength velcro. Stick one piece inside the armor and the other to the foam strip, press them together and voilà. Hasn't budged once. -
I use the military helmet pads and they're great, and less complicated to install than a hard had liner.
