1. Tino I take my hat off to you as your work on this build is of the highest quality. This is already one of the best builds I have seen and will be a great source of reference for all future blaster builders. I suspect it may also inspire and tempt a few of us who have already built blasters to start a new build. However not only are you putting together what will provide to be an amazing E11 your attention to detail within your build threads is second to none and I very much look forward to following this thread through to it's completion.
2. I'm very excited to see how this build develops. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing what you have done so far.
3. Kevin - Many of us actually make a spring and it is not as difficult as you may think. T-Jay for example provides some wire in his completion sets, (See link below), which is for making a custom spring. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-kits-like-doopydoo%E2%80%99s-full-resin-kit-incl-worldwide-shipping-and-paypal/ I got a M16 steel bolt, (M16 meaning that it has a 16mm outer diameter), and wrapped the wire around. You can then stretch the spring to give the correct number of visible coils, (11 coils), and cut to the desired length. If you want to see how I made mine have a look at post 216 on my build thread using the link below. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32072-thrawns-guards-anh-e11-blaster-build/page-11
4. @ Dennis - As far as I am aware There isn't a BlasTech logo.

@ Michael - That's a good point however because the base plate is dropped down below the level of the perimeter of the base this may be a little too low. I'll have a play around with things to see how it looks.
5. Another variation would be to remove the imperial logo and have the 'Death Star' wall effect across the full width. Having said that I do like the logo detail.
6. He is a quick render of the fourth version. I will also slightly round off the corners of the support cups.
7. Ian I will probably build a quick mock up to test this once the final design is decided upon so that I can make sure the blaster is held vertically. I also intend to have a rubber finish on the face of the supports to prevent scratches but this should also provide additional grip to help keep things in place,
8. Further to Ian's suggestion above I have drawn out a fourth version whereby the rear support arm has been moved to the handle and the overall height of the support arms have been reduced as much as possible. I am also playing about with the idea of adding a small lip to the bottom of the base to allow for the option of adding a clear perspex cover later.
9. Mark I think the chequering effect you have made for the handle works really well.
10. Thanks for the feedback guys. Ian I like your idea about the rear support arm so will draw this up later today. Such a simple idea but one I'd not thought of. I think that there was an error with the link you provided above.
11. Thrawn’s Guard E11 Blaster Stands Further to my blaster stand thread in which the idea is for people to post pictures and links of either scratch built or bought blaster stands, (See link below), I was inspired to have a look at custom building a blaster stand for my own E11. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35416-blaster-stands/ After a short time sketching out in rough a few ideas I decided to draw out in more detail my initial thoughts and also have a go at modelling the stand to see if it works in 3D. I still have a fair amount of research to carry out not least with regard to where I could possible get some thin steel plate laser cut and the design may evolve a little over time but I thought that it may interesting for some of you so here goes with my first concept design (3 variations). The base itself may end up being gloss black, metallic or natural wood whilst my initial thoughts would be to have the removable ‘Death Star’ base plate and imperial logo laser cur from thin steel sheet if possible, I would also look to perhaps get a plaque made stating/showing some or all of the following:- 1) Star Wars Logo, 2) TK Number (When I get one) 3) Stormtrooper E11 blaster. Under the metallic death star themed base plate I may look to place a thin white plastic sheet which will show through the holes in the base plate and perhaps paint the opposite face with black so that it is reversible. Due to the asymmetrical positions of the support arm the stand will not be symmetrical however the detailing and logo would and any plaque I use will probably be loose. The intention here is that I can mount my blaster and simply turn the stand around to view the blaster from opposite side (without the plaque then being upside down). Anyway enough with the initial rambling. Any thoughts or suggestions, as always, are most welcome. Here are the concept sketches so far:- And here is the 3D render for versions 2 and 3: -
12. I like both styles of these blaster stands in fact they have inspired me to try my hand at building a custom made stand of my own rather than buy one of the stands I have seen available for purchase. I'm still at the early stages of planning but have a few ideas in mind and intend to put together one or two visuals along with perhaps a 3D model to get a good idea of what the finished stand will look like. See the link below for some further information if interested. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35599-thrawn%E2%80%99s-guard-e11-blaster-stands/ Perhaps if the finished product is of a good enough quality I may even see if there is any interest and if so build a limited run for sale.
13. As far as I am aware there isn't currently a thread collecting together various E11 blaster stands. Therefore I thought that it would be both useful and interesting to start a thread where people could post either examples of there own scratch built stands or details of stands available for purchase. After all we go to the effort and spend many hours building a high quality blaster so it would then be a shame not to present it in the best possible way.
14. Great work so far Preston I'm looking forward to watching your build. As had been said above if you need any help or advice ask away and we will all do our best to assist. Keep up the great work.
15. Very impressive work Sergiu. I love the stands they really show off the blastets well.
16. Tino I'm very much looking forward to watching this build. Your previous build was one of my inspirations for my own build. Great thread so far by the way.
17. Eric - Page 12 of my build thread shows what I was able to come up with. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32072-thrawns-guards-anh-e11-blaster-build/page-12 Don't forget however that the E11 blasters scopes are actually on backwards.......As are many of the star Wars weapon scopes.
18. Very impressive workmanship so far Carl. There is certainly nothing wrong with slow and steady when it results in a great final product. Keep up the great work.
19. Great work so far Carl and nice of you to share your trigger insert templates.
20. I have now added links for the Power cylinders in both .stl and Wings3D format (See the first post). I will follow this up with links in both formats where I have separated the power cylinders in to individual components,
