  1. You’re doing some really great work with this build Patrick.
  2. @ Artimorty thanks for the kind words. It was an enjoyable little project to work on. I just have to decide what to work on next....Perhaps a scratch built Jyn Erso or Ray blaster. I've also added some additional pictures which show the opposite side of the blaster whilst mounted on the stand.
  3. Well here it is at last. I finally had the time to sit down and get the blaster stand finished. I'm pretty pleased with the results and I think that it was definitely worth the effort. I'll also post a few pictures shortly showing the stand with the blaster in place.
  4. Patrick I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to electronics however if you post some photos that will no doubt help others with more knowledge. In the meantime have you checked that at the wires are still solidly connected? Also it may be worthwhile trying a new set of batteries. With regard to the cracks you could use a two part putty such as green stuff. This can be applied to the crack and smoothed off by wet fingers.
  5. Very impressive work Dana and great attention to detail. I love what you have done so far and will be following your progress with great interest.
  6. Just a quick teaser of progress so far. Nothing glued together yet but things seem to be coming together and fitting OK.
  7. Nice work so far Kevin I look forward to following your progress. One quick suggestion would be to try to smooth the edges of the holes in the barrel if possible.
  8. Well I've finally got the materials and have started work on building my stand. It will no doubt 'evolve' a little along the way but will essentially be the version 4 shown above. If anyone's interested I can post a few photos of the build process too.
  9. Hi Joseph if it is the sight housing you refer to this was something that I 3D printed and sent over to you.
  10. Sorry for the delay on this one but I have been very busy. Anyway I have finally ordered the materials so should be able to start working on this in the next week or so. I'll post some photos once complete.
  11. I'm currently considering purchasing a set of this armour in the new year so glad to see the positive feedback. I've also met Ross a couple of times and he does come over as being a nice and helpful guy. One question for those of you with more experience than me with regard to armour builds. Would this armour be suitable for centurion with the 501st?
  12. Your blaster turned out fantastic Kevin. Your hard work had paid off.
  13. Marc you've done some excellent work on your modifications. In particular the folding stock is outstanding. I'm really enjoying reading through your build thread.
  14. Hi Chris I am really looking forward to seeing how these come together.
  15. Well I've now decided to start purchasing the materials for a type 4 stand. I'm planning to add a rubberised finish to the underside of the stand base to ensure a good grip and to protect whatever I decide to place the display stand on. I may also incorporate a lip around the base so that there is an option to add a custom made clear Perspex display case. Hopefully things will come together OK and if so I'll post some photographs to show you all what they look like in reality.
  16. As always great work Tino. A very detailed and helpful explanation of the method of installing T-Tracks and I very much like the power cylinder comparison. I think that this build thread should be considered for pinning once complete.
  17. Hi Lee. In A New Hope the counters were glued on however many of them fell off during filming. For this reason the counters are typically screwed on to the scope rail. There are a few variations of how this can be done (Have a look at the blaster reference pages and also my build thread to get some ideas). Some of the differences depend on the type of counter being fixed i.e. A real counter/reproduction or a solid resin counter such as the one provided in the Doopydoos kit. What type of counter are you attaching?
  18. HI Kevin I'm really pleased that you like the build log. I did try to outline how and why I did things with the intention of helping others with there own build threads however the feedback you get when you put together a build thread also greatly helps with your own build. I don't mind at all if you want to copy my guide on scratch building power cylinders in fact it is a compliment that people want to reproduce what I have done. It was one of the parts of the build that I kept putting off however is now one of my favourite parts of my blaster. All the best of luck with this and if you have any queries or if anything is unclear on my build log feel free to ask and I will do my best to help. With regard to the counter I did intend to build one using the parts provided with the counter you refer to however before I got around to looking at this area of the build Tino had a run of the counters shown in the link below therefore I took the opportunity to purchase and use one of these whilst I had the chance. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30715-limited-offer-conversion-counters-now-available-in-completion-sets/ Keep up the great work Kevin.
  19. Hi Kevin nice work with your blaster. One quick observation which you may not be concerned about is the position of the charging handle on the bolt. The handle should be positioned such that it is almost at the very front of the charging slot. As I say This may not be something that you are concerned about but thought that I'd mention it just in case.
  20. As many other have already said your work on this blaster is amazing in fact it continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. The last picture looks like it could have been taken the day after the battle of Endor except for the model of E11.
