  1. Maybe we can get together. I'm vacationing in Clarksville MO this fall.
  2. Very nice armor, great job. So knowing your armor and holster maker, is elite in your future?
  3. You can also hit up the clone detachment and Clone Empire for tutorials on invisible shims.
  4. Hope to troop with you soon, the Midwest Garrison is a great gang but I'm partial since that was my original garrison. Are you living in the midwest now?
  5. The issue is that accurate blasters have 6 rows of T-tracks. The bottom left row does not have a track because that is where the bayonet lug is. Hasbro put a row on the bottom left and left the two sides empty for the lights. The standards should specify that the Hasbro gets 7 T-tracks as that is more accurate than 6 with the side left empty. I'll try to get this updated ASAP so there isn't any confusion. As a practical matter, I don't always troop with the resin blaster I have in my elite app either depending on the type of event.
  6. His resin blaster meets all the requirements, but the elite standards do need to be reworded regarding the Hasbro mods. Scott has been very busy this summer but it is in the works and should be done soon.
  7. Looks good Chris. The only thing holding your Hasbro back from being elite worthy is the missing T-track on the side as it get's one more row of T-tracks to cover the row of red holes.
  8. To get an even seam, it has to go end to end. I don't have any pictures, but I believe on the left I cut a wedge taking about 3.5 inches off the bottom ,and about an inch off the top. That was just to get it to match the right thigh. A tailor's measuring tape is the best 2 bucks spent when fitting thighs. The you can get the thighs even and tapered very easily.
  9. Looks good. One thing that would really help the overall look is to taper the thighs. What I mean is cut out a wedge removing a few inches from the bottom and none at the top. The left FX thigh is actually bigger at the bottom than the top. Your off to a great start.
  10. I got mine yesterday. Thanks again Scott, they look great.
  11. I'm currently painting a set as well. I bought a case (6 cans) hoping that would be enough. I got a helmet, butt plate, and one bicep out of a can. That's all I've got done so far, I need to make more parts stands.
  12. That's because they are both MR copies. EDIT: After looking at his youtube videos, I think he recast the MakerOfThings blaster. This also is the guy I saw at MCCC. EDIT2: He is also using pictures of a 501st member on his store homepage.
  13. I photoshoped you photos to show what the eye sees, instead of what a camera sees. They can be very different. Hope you don't mind.
  14. Looks like a MR recast. Thing is you can get one from MakerOfThings for less.
  15. The elite standards are in addition to the Legion standards, but do not include them. There is a project underway to get all the Legion's costume requirements standardized and posted on the Legion website, but it's a large project to say the least.
  16. I think I've meet this guy. He came up to the 501st table at Motor City Comic Con showing off his vac formed E-11 and electrobinoculars. The stuff is decent but not great, just way overpriced. He did say that he hopes to someday join the 501st.
  17. 14 looks best. I know another good looking blue is Testors model masters: blue angels blue.
  18. Whatever you get you want fitted. Also if you have a Dick's near you their store brand is cheaper than Underarmor, and doesn't have annoying logos on it. The pants even have a pocket inside the waistband that others don't to put your ID, car key, and a little cash. Good luck.
  19. I sat down in a kiddie train at a park in fill armor. It was very uncomfortable, but possible.
  20. Lucas is also notorious for film flipping. The most obvious scene is Vader in ESB when taking to the Emperor, he's backwards.
  21. It's going to depend on the story line. TX are special operations, so if they are specialist out side of the normal troopers they will probably be a TX. If they are normal generic troops they will probably be a TK. Of course this is just my speculation.
  22. I didn't even know that existed. Ya learn something new every day.
  23. I've got FireFox 3 and have not noticed a difference on the FISD. Could be you cache settings forcing the background images to reload every time you load a page.
  24. It's not a 501st costume yet. For a costume to qualify for the 501st it has to have 3 references. So far we have the FU game when it is released, the action figure, and you need one more reference. Once approved I assume it'll be covered by the Spec Ops detachment.
  25. That's and excellent mod, thanks for sharing.
