  1. I know what your talking about. Yes you do need it, but I doubt it's made of fiberglass.
  2. I'm not sure why you need fiberglass screen? Also I'm not a fan of sanding sponges, because of the curves of the armor I prefer regular sandpaper. FX armor comes trimmed, so painters tap will double for marking the few cut lines you will need to make.
  3. Actually everything posted is lamen terms. You can ask for it at most any Walmart, Jo-Ann, or Lowes and they will show you exactly what has been posted by name. But don't get industrial velcro at Jo-ann, it's way over priced.
  4. You'll need several tubes of Devcon plastic welder, white and black industrial velcro, lots of clamps, and patience. Also painters tape is great for test fitting and using as a guide if you need to make a cut. If you don't have a dremel you should really consider one, it'll save alot of headache. The rest of the accessories are well discussed om the forum.
  5. Oops I thought you were bidding on a different helmet. That one looks like an AP. What Paul says is correct. In the last few months I've seen stock FX helmets got anywhere from $75-$390. The only thing that makes something collectible is when 2 people have money to blow and they want the same thing.
  6. On ABS plastic Welder is my glue of choice. I've got over 20 troops and one parade in my armor with no malfunctions.
  7. Actually I believe the auction he won was a Gino v1.
  8. I don't know about the quality, but there is no reason they won't be accepted. They are probably more accurate than alot of the troopers out there.
  9. The easiest way to post a pic is use a photo hosting service such as photobucket. It's free and easy.
  10. First, what armor style are you working on? And second, pictures make things alot easier to troubleshoot.
  11. Thanks for staying on top if this Greg. Also I know I've said it before and I'll say it again, thanks for all the work you do keeping this place up and running.
  12. A naphtha based cleaner won't hurt the ABS and will take the paint off in a flash. Just make sure it is acetone free.
  13. Congrats on becoming elite. When you get a chance can you take a pic for your elite profile. The only post mod pic doesn't strike fear into the hearts of the citizens of the Empire.
  14. Great tutorial so far. Keep the pictures coming.
  15. The boards have been doing that lately and it seems to be getting worse. The image tags are still in his post, but no pictures are loading.
  16. Here it is: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=2313
  17. The smell is the glue they use to assemble the boots now. It goes away in a few months of being aired out.
  18. So what's the story on the blue and red helmets?
  19. Not to worry Mike, they will be 100% CRL usable. The counter can only be seen in the first picture, and only clearly if you lighten it up. Thanks for the CRL help, I'm sure you'll be elite shortly.
  20. BTW I think these are the best elite pictures ever, even pre-photoshopped. Talk about setting a bar.
