  1. This thread is about CAP armor. The name calling and recast talk ends now. The FISD is a 501st detachment, as such we can not ban recasters due to the Legion's position on recasting. If people don't like this position then join the 501st, get elected to a command position, and try and change it. Some people have said that there is no agreement between CAP and TE. The only 2 people that can answer that are CAP and TE, both of which are active members here and may be answered shortly.
  2. Nice shots Thayne, I think you have elite covered. Scott makes the final call.
  3. Man that's a nice bucket .
  4. Paul would know better than I would, but I don't think those boots are 501st aprovable. If you want the best balance of price and accuracy get these: -------------Even with the crummy exchange rate and international shipping they total about $72-$76 depending on the day. Edit: Paul types faster and didn't have to look up a link.
  5. Nice job on the armor. The only minor thing I see is the rivets on the plastic part of the belt need to be painted white. Other than that it looks like you've got everything covered.
  6. Well there are a few details not shown that need to be. A helmet closeup so the typer of aerators can be seen, the lens color needs to be shown as well. Also need the other side of your blaster, and I can't tell if you neckseal is ribbed. I'm sure Scott will come alone with something more formal later. Your almost there trooper. Also for you profile picture, something straight on with a dynamic pose is best, and please don't be in direct sunlight.
  7. The picture is darker than what I see. The H2O is as bright as 96+ brightness paper, and it is glossier than anything else I've seen out of a rattle can.
  8. Those are more accurate than CA boots by a long shot. Look pretty good.
  9. There has been alot of talk about paint recently. So I shot some paint today and thought I'd post up the results. Not to worry I'll get to Krylon Fusion when I get some. I shot the paint on straight ABS, so no sanding or primer. The Rustoleum pro enamel is the closest match to the ABS like we all know. I tried some Krylon H20 since many of the Vaders are using it because of the insane gloss. Well I can say it is much much glossier than the pro enamel, but it is also a very bright white. If you painted a suit of armor with this It may match the MRCE well as bright as it is.

Nice job Paul, it goes to show that your sharing the wisdom faster than anyone else.
  11. I don't see anything missing for elite. Just have to wait a few days for the TKID number. Nice job Chris .
  12. You can't go wrong with TE2, AP, or TM. If you a bigger guy RT is the answer, but they are all excellent.
  13. Sorry prices are not allowed to be posted on the forum. As for other kits out there you also have TE2, TM, RT-Mod, and FX.
  14. Ironclaw, is it possible that you wired up something wrong? Did you wire the speakers up in parallel or series (not that it makes a huge difference)?
  15. The only wrong way to put them on for elite is to rivet them on.
  16. Nice work Mark, she's a beauty.
  17. You can always look through the elite apps. That should give you some ideas.
  18. I borrowed a friends hot knife to try out. They work much better on ABS than HIPS.
  19. Nomex flight gloves are fine, so your all set there.
  20. So how's everyone doing on their armor building and upgrades? We are on a roll, keep up the good work.
  21. Yes, a modded MR CE is elite acceptable.
  22. I'd recommend looking around the forums a bit. There are several MR mod threads just a few threads under yours. They cover lenses, ear screws, etc....
  23. You'd have to contact Triktoys about the mic, as they usually don't say what kind they are on the mic. The difference between omni and uni mics is one picks up sound for all directions and the other just captures sound from one direction. That's what causes feedback is the mic picking up the sound from the speakers.
  24. The problem is probably the mic. Make sure you have an uni directional mic instead of an omni directional one. Also get a quality mic as well.
  25. I'm closing this thread on the basis that the information is incorrect, and it serves no purpose that cluttering the forum.
