TK12968 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status (ATA) [810]
justjoseph63 replied to Wargasm's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Glad to hear that, brother! As a matter of fact, I had to do that exact same fix on my large ab button plate on my first EI submission, so you are definitely not the first, lol. Just take your time when removing it, and if you have any trouble taking it off just PM me. -
TK12968 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status (ATA) [810]
justjoseph63 replied to Wargasm's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Really nice job overall, Joshua! There are a few items that need some attention, though.. The large ab button plate needs some serious trimming, (the smaller one could use a little love too). Below is a photo of the ab section of an ATA chest plate showing how it should look. It may take some work, but hopefully you used E-6000 to attach it so you can remove it to trim it. Also, the placement of the clips on your TD needs to be moved (easy fix) and you should paint those screws black. Below is a pic of the proper alignment. Keep up the great work.. I have every confidence that we will see you at EI level soon! -
Does anyone know if....
justjoseph63 replied to Commander Gree's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I included AM's email in the above post for ya'. You might want to try Imperial Boots for your footwear: They are built really well, but I advise getting them one size larger than you normally wear: http://www.imperialboots.com/product/421/ -

AM is not connected in any way to TK boots. I can't see why anyone would compare AM to FX for any reason, though. I have made it to Centurion twice with AM armor, and it is built like a tank. They were out of production for a short time, but last I heard they were back in business. The only downside to AM is that they do not make replacement parts. -
Stormtrooper gloves
justjoseph63 replied to Mattax's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
For basic approval they can be made of Nomex, rubber, leather or simulated leather, but they cannot have any markings on them. The ones I recommended in an earlier post here (link below) are perfect. If you are (hopefully) aiming for higher levels, (EI and Centurion) they will need to be rubber. ----------- -

You can also try AM, Jordan, ([email protected]). It says he is on the "no longer made" area, but I am almost positive he is still in business. -
Where, What and Whom To Avoid When Buying
justjoseph63 replied to RogueTrooper's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
As for the neck seal, a lot of us use Darman. Top quality and custom made to order: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21385-darmans-neck-seals/ Undersuits can be purchased pretty inexpensively on Amazon: Pants: https://www.amazon.com/DZRZVD-Compression-Running-Training-Leggings/dp/B078S6YFCQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1520070306&sr=1-4&nodeID=7147441011&psd=1&keywords=mens+black+compression+pants Shirt: https://www.amazon.com/Compression-Performance-Crewneck-Long-sleeve-Pack-Black/dp/B071CJNGQQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1520070357&sr=1-2&nodeID=7147441011&psd=1&keywords=mens+black+compression+shirt -

March 2018 Request for CRL Updates thread
justjoseph63 replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Would it be possible to add images of the correct style of screws in the CRL? Not everyone is familiar with what a pan-head or V head screw looks like, or the difference between slotted and phillips head. This may avoid any confusion. Same with the single cap rivets. The clearer we make things the better. Pan head slotted screw Slotted flat head Single cap rivets ------- ---------------- I agree on this one. AM no longer supplies the V1 chest and back, so this would would avoid any "What version do I have?" questions. -

CRL change regarding overlap construction?
justjoseph63 replied to bobafret's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The overlap construction was not used in ANH, and for screen accuracy purposes I feel that they should not be permitted at level 2. Those who currently have FX could upgrade if they wish to achieve EI or Centurion, but after all it is an elective and not a requirement . I had to replace my old AM chest, back and kidney for ANH-S level 3 and when the CRLs for HWT changed I replaced the ammo packs to reflect the new requirements. I was already approved at Centurion level HWT, so was "grandfathered in" with the older style, but things change and we must adapt. Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor of the higher levels and not down on anyone's armor (well, except Rubie's or recasts), but there comes a time when we have to move forward. Back in the day, FX was the armor of choice due to availability, but now there are many other quality options that are closer to screen accuracy. -
TK-42145 Requesting (ANH Stunt) Centurion Status (RS) [380]

Looking SHARP, Paul! You will need to post up pics of your bucket (left, right, front and back) and the hovi-tip detail. I think you have this one nailed, though!!! -
Wal-Mart TK Boots?
justjoseph63 replied to willeywonka's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I have 2 pairs of Imperial boots (1 dirty for HWT 1 clean for regular TK) and I gotta say that I couldn't be happier with them. Shipping was actually quite fast (2 weeks) and the customer service was great. One thing I would recommend, though, is that you order one size up from what you normally wear as they tend to run a bit small. As Daryl mentioned, they are close until March but you should be able to get in touch with them beforehand. -
Great to have you here, Jenny! As Q (gmrhodes13) mentioned, Imgur is REALLY easy to use. Just click on the center of the photo you want to use and choose the Direct Link option. Easy peasy. Have you checked out Cricket's build thread? https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41502-crickets-wtf-hero-build-even-more-tk-for-the-vertically-challenged/?tab=comments#comment-556128 Lots of information there for those that need to cut things down a bit, and I'm sure that she would be be willing to answer any questions for you.

Armor re-sizing question
justjoseph63 replied to WodiQuix's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I think you are spot on, Dan, and good eye on catching that angle! The pieces have not been trimmed at all, so you should be good to go, Ian. At 5'9" you will probably end up needing to trim some of the length off, so don't worry about losing the return edge, (leaving that on can chafe your, uh, "cod" area anyway). And yes, it is screen accurate. Below is a pic of a set of screen used thighs showing this. Just follow the existing curve at the top which is a bit different on each thigh -
Supply list for your OT TK build....
justjoseph63 replied to justjoseph63's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
You don't list where you are located, but you should try Lowe's, Home Depot or an auto supply store. Be sure to sand down the tube with 220 grit (or similar) sandpaper and clean it thoroughly first. -

Request your EIB Certificate here:
justjoseph63 replied to justjoseph63's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
My apologies, Lionel. I tried to change it, but once these are generated it is difficult to alter them. I have forwarded the matter to the person who created the program, and we should get you sorted out shortly. Sorry for the delay! UPDATE: Fixed!!! -
Anovos strap replacement
justjoseph63 replied to nrgband's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Your best bet is to purchase or order the individual items, Arthur. Many of them can be purchased at a fabric shop (like Joanne's) or online (eBay). When you buy it online, you will probably have to order a lot more that you need, but doing that often saves money. For a complete list of items you will need, here is a link to my "Supply list..." thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/ ------------ -
Armor re-sizing question
justjoseph63 replied to WodiQuix's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Is this a commision build, Ian? If so, RS is usually spot-on with their fitting. I have seen a few occasions where pieces didn't fit correctly, but RS has stepped up to the plate and replaced them. If you could post up some of those photos showing your concerns that would help a lot. -
Your build is looking fantastic, Sean! As for if the the split rivets will be "functional", do you mean to help hold the strapping on? If you are going with elastic on the sides I would suggest just installing them and then attaching (gluing) the strapping over them. The reason being is that elastic can wear (stretch) out over time, and if it needs to eventually be replaced you would have to remove/replace the rivets as well. Also, if you use nylon remember that the shanks of the rivets are not very long, and you may have some trouble getting it through the armor, nylon and washer before opening up the "legs" properly. Keep up the great work! P.S. REALLY nice job on that kidney/butt plate alignment!

Small detail questions - Chest and Belt
justjoseph63 replied to WodiQuix's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
What you are seeing at the bottom (return edge) are screws used in the "classic" strapping system. Although screen accurate, this method not a requirement. Most folks use the nylon/elastic strapping system (example pic below). If you want to use the bracket system, (which RS uses on commission armor) the only place right off hand I know to get one is Mr. No Stripes (Darren). Here is a link to his sales thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20859-accurate-anh-stormtrooper-strapping-brackets-v-20-now-available/ RS is arguably the most accurate armor out there, so anything that is included with the kit will be 100% 501st (including EI and Centurion) acceptable if built correctly. -
I need some help to become Centurion!
justjoseph63 replied to AthenaIII's topic in TKC Build Threads
My pleasure, Daphne, just wish I could have been more help. When you do find out the correct answers and get things sorted, I would suggest starting a thread in the Stormtrooper Commander's forum with lots of detailed photos. This will help those on the same path! -
I need some help to become Centurion!
justjoseph63 replied to AthenaIII's topic in TKC Build Threads
Not sure about Commander specs, as the details are not shown in the CRLs. BUT... I will try, based on level 3 Stunt requirements just until you can get some clarification. Answers are in red above. Again, please don't purchase any supplies until you get the go-ahead from someone like Tony or Andrew. -
