  1. Hi Jose! I will be with you shortly, sir... thanks for your patience!
  2. My best advice would be to change to HWT and chalk it up to battle damage, Tom. (I may be just a little bit biased on that, though).
  3. There are no requirements for a return edge on the bottom of the chest for Stunt or Hero. In a lot of areas they add a thicker look to the armor, but in others they can be impractical and/or downright uncomfortable! If you take a look at the screen used armor, (pics below) there are a LOT of places where it was removed completely, (shoulder bells, biceps, tops of the thighs, wrists, forearm openings, sides of the chest/back pieces), etc. A few folks who have needed to cut them down significantly for sizing purposes have actually recreated them using a heat sealing iron for that thicker look, but to be honest it is a LOT of work. Plus, heat sealing irons can destroy a perfectly good piece of armor very quickly if you are not adept at using one, so I for one say leave them off. The tops/bottoms of the kidney, top of the posterior, tops of the calves and bottom of the thighs should be kept on, though (even if minimally) for the thicker look.
  4. I would suggest taking all new pics, brother. I know it can be a bit of a pain, but since you are working on a number of the issues from your EI suggestions you may as well show them off!
  5. Great job on bending that kidney, Lorelei! If I were you, I would remove all but 1/4 inch of the return edge from the top of your kidney and ab before fitting. (If you need to bend them further it will make it a LOT easier)! Many times when heat bending any pieces the return edge buckles, (photo 2) and not removing it enough can eventually cause splits in those areas. Reference image You can also remove ALL of the return edge from the bottom of the chest piece, and it will not affect approval at any level. (Luke's armor shown below). Side note on the ab plate- Even though the ab button boxes are off center as Jim mentioned, the center button on your ABS ammo belt should line up with the ridge that is in the middle. Keep up the great work!
  6. Any updates on this? Tony (ukswrath) sells the screens for the hovi-tips, https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40706-fs-ukswraths-hovi-tip-screen/?tab=comments#comment-544584 and I sell the correct screws for the ears (link under my avatar below).
  7. Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. I was thinking levels 2 and 3 for some reason. (It's terrible getting older... sometimes I forget... uh... what)?
  8. Awesome! Just a heads-up, for basic approval they must have a seam that swoops down the side of the foot as well as zippers on the inside that span the height of the boot as seen below.
  9. That was a suggested fix, Jim, and since it is not specifically mentioned in the CRL it is not a requirement, per se. I am a detail freak, so if it were me I would change them out for a more canon look. You can pick up a set of the famous "Dave M" decals at Trooperbay https://trooperbay.com/dave-m-helmet-decals, or if you want to paint them yourself I can send you a set of adhesive templates for free and give you a few hints on how best to do it. Just PM me if interested.
  10. I know things can get overwhelming at times, Jeff, but hang in there. I think we have all had times where we got frustrated and sometimes it's best to take a break and then dive back in. As Dan mentioned, the stronger the better when it comes to magnets. I have a little tutorial with lots of info. that may help: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/44619-magnets-101/ Nice job on the bucket, but I would extend the frown ends a bit: I would suggest cutting the length of your brow down on the left side just a bit to keep it from flaring out like that: Did you get this helmet from RS? The reason I as is that the ears seem to be one piece with the sides, which is quite unusual. Reference image
  11. Actually, I used E-6000, Rudi. As for the Plasti-dip, it stinks to high Heaven for a day or so, but then the odor disappears completely. E-6000 actually smells worse, but also vanishes in about 48 hours. I have bronchitis and it didn't affect me if that helps. I've only actually worn that bucket twice (I usually go HWT) but had no problems, as I have a good fan system.
  12. Hi Brett, welcome back and thank you for your Centurion application, so let's get to it, shall we? CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Centurion, so on behalf of the D.O. Staff, congratulations Trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Thank you for making the requested shoulder bell/drop box repairs, and great job on trimming down those cover strips! The only thing I would suggest is that at some point you round out the sharp corners on your kidney plate bottom cut outs. The reason being is that when you have an angle that sharp it can tend to split right at that point.. A round needle file used right in the corner should do the trick. Alternatively, you can glue a couple of ABS scraps behind the corners for strength at those areas. Now get out there and make the NEG proud as it's newest Centurion!
  13. Hi Arthur, welcome back and thank you for your SECOND Centurion application, lets get you approved, sir! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Centurion, so on behalf of the D.O. Staff, congratulations Trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Thank you for making the requested repairs, you have done a stellar job as always, and nothing to add. Making the Hong Kong Garrison proud yet again with this second Centurion,. Well done!
  14. Did you remove all the return edge from the tops and bottoms of your bicep, Andy? This allows a lot more room, and is completely screen accurate.
  15. Depending on your GML, you may get away with them for basic approval, but not for anything higher (EI or Centurion), and you will also need them to attach your thigh ammo pack. If you look below my signature, I sell a complete set (10) for $3.50, shipped in the U.S.. Here is a link: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34902-centurion-level-rivet-sets-for-sale/
  16. Welcome back, Jeff, and thank you for your patience and for your Centurion application. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present. Thank you for making the suggested updates to the teeth, ab gap, hand guards, shoulder bells and that pesky drop box . Beautiful job on your build Trooper . We are pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary requirements as set out in the CRL. On behalf of the D.O. Staff, congratulations and welcome to Centurion! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Just a few items here, sir. When suiting up, always double check the evenness of your thighs. If a mirror isn't available, you can always ask a fellow Trooper if the tops are level. A small detail, but one that adds up to a much more polished look. You really should raise the brow on your bucket, brother. It looks more Hero than Stunt... Reference images Your vocoder could use some extra paint to extend the 2nd and 6th bumps. This would be a lot closer to screen accuracy. Reference images Nothing more to add, brother, except to get that Centurion decal on your bin! Excellent job
  17. Way to go, Rob! Congrats, and I hope to see you at Centurion level next!!
  18. As long as you get the pic posted tonight, I will make sure you have that Centurion badge first thing tomorrow morning! BTW, I appreciate you waiting to put the Centurion decal on your bin... that definitely shows character!
  19. WHEW... I am using a laptop and I thought it was just me! All other sites work well, but this one is definitely dragging.
  20. Sounds like a plan, sir. I know it seems like a small thing, but it's the details that matter when you get to the higher levels. This is actually one of the most common issues we see, and fortunately it's a very easy fix with good ol' E-6000.
  21. Looking sharp, Chris, and I hope you will be aiming for EI and then Centurion with this armor! In addition to the above suggestions, I would move the sniper knee plate up a bit, as it looks to be riding low and you can see the top of the calf. Not a major concern for basic approval, but should be addressed at some point. Once you get your official TK #, don't forget to apply for Legion access here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/ Reference image
  22. OK, Jeff.. FANTASTIC job on taking care of the issues from your EI application! Just one last thing and we can get you level 3, brother... I noticed that your left drop box needs to be aligned with the edge of your ammo belt. Please post up a new pic of that so we can get that Centurion badge under your name! Reference image
  23. Some great advice there for you, Ivan! Once you get your official 501st TK #, I suggest studying the photos and comments of the submission threads in the EI and Centurion request areas, which will give you a better understanding of what we look for. If you have any problems or questions, just ask! 24. Hi Marcel, thank you for your patience for your ANH-Stunt EI application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted, and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. On behalf of the D.O. Staff, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Great looking set of RS armor here, sir, and thank you for taking care of those TD issues so quickly! I know that weathering is an important part of E-11s, but you might want to dial back the brass color on your scope a bit. Reference image For closer screen accuracy, your scope rail should have a 90 degree angle where it inserts into the barrell. Reference image Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Just a few small issues that should be easy to address, sir. The gaps on the left and right side will need to be closer. As per the CRL, "Ideally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor". SImply tightening up your belt should help a lot. Reference image Reference image You will need to remove the writing on the bottom of the TD by either using a PVC safe solvent, a light sanding or painting it entirely. Reference image You may have to move the snaps holding your canvas belt to your ab, but the middle button needs to be more centered; CRL: "... three square buttons, one centered in the middle..." Reference images Congratulations on a well deserved Expert Infantry badge, Marcel, and we hope to see your Centurion submission soon!
