  1. Looking good! Have you test fit your shins with your completed cover strips while wearing your black undersuit? If you need extra room, the back/rear coverstrips that cover the closure method can be wider.
  2. Adding cheesecloth it a personal decision. Some add it. Most don't. The buckets are pretty solid once they are put together, but if you want some extra rigidity, go for it. Reinforcing the mic tips area is a good idea, as the ABS is thin there, and it will see a lot of force there through the mic tip stud/mounting. Go for Centurion, the small extra effort & research is worth it; there is a noticeable (looks way better) difference between basic approval and a Cent. build.
  3. Great advice provided. I'd add ... have fun! You'll be smiling a lot!! I'll also add watch out for your fellow Garrison members. Make sure they are safe & nothing's falling off or stolen. They'll do the same for you. If you need a break (hot, tired, malfunction, overwhelmed by people), have someone (handler?) walk back with you. Never troop alone. And if you see a wandering droid, steal it.
  4. Velcro, E6000, Ear stud screws, and I've used the studs from the mic tips to mount my fans.
  5. I got mine from the small screw bins at Lowes. They come in little bags of 3 or 4.
  6. Not to kijack this thread, but MoSc0ut, can you reach the back of your helmet to turn your fans on/off when you're kitted up?
  7. Check out Jenlarouge's build. She's 5' tall and had to mod the armor to fit. It turned out really well.
  8. Hey David, Great to see you submitting for Centurion! We need more Centurions in the Garrison! Your kit fits your great! A few things that I see (some might not be required, but help with fit and overall look) are ... bring your shoulder bells in towards the shoulder straps, bring your biceps down and/or your forearms up, heat the back of your shoulder straps so they lay flat on your back plate, add some foam spacers in your thigh armor (on the outside of your leg) to lessen the "knocked knee look", and replace your TD screws with pan head common (slot) screws. No Robertson screws here. Put your order in for FISD patches and EI & Cent. rockers, they're selling out fast!
  9. Congrats on BBB day! You'll be covered in ABS shavings and dust in no time!
  10. Congrats on breaking the ice in the summer sun! Is that an inflatable lightsaber?
  11. Toothpick or Q-tip with Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner. The only danger with a Q-tip is you might capture some cotton fuzz in your paint. Good Luck!
  12. Looking good Travis. E6000 cleans up pretty easily. Peel up an edge and it pulls off like a big sticky nose booger. The cover strips can hide most sins.
  13. Welcome Ronald! You'll be very happy with your AP kit. The pre-trimmed kit is a huge time saver, and is a little less daunting for new builders. The Humbrol grey paint is the correct color. As for your decals, I'd recommend hand painting them, especially if you seek higher levels of approval (EI or Cent). Have fun & keep those blurry pics coming!
  14. I personally like looking shiny & new, so my kit gets a Novus polish (stages 1 & 2) after every troop.
  15. Brad_Bird on the PS4 Playing Battlefront on the PS4, and Star Wars Commander (currently in Star Garrison's group) on my phone.
  16. Nicely Done Trooper! Congratulations.
  17. NF Comic Con should be a good break-in for your armor.
  18. Have you been to Trifecta Tavern? I was in Portland last year ... Good food there!
  19. Good Idea Jim. Another method for retaining your shins is to put Velcro on the inside of your shins and top/front of your boots. Works well too. Good Luck!
  20. Nice job on the shin closures and ABS paste!
  21. Looks good! How are you going to attach your drop boxes (shown with loops of elastic) now that you have the ABS belt attached to the fabric belt with rivets?
