  1. Looking good Ryan 1A. Requirement no, highly recommended yes. 4A. Some overlap on the right side is acceptable. Yes the TD should cover most (not all Velcro exposed), again not a requirement. TD length is 7 1/4"-7 1/2". 5A. Poppers are technically snaps but the designed differently than what you see most of around these parts. Poppers are not required, I only used them because it's screen accurate. What you use has no bearing on approvals. Keep up the great work
  2. That's about right
  3. That's what were here for
  4. Alright Dan congratulations, welcome to EI!
  5. No worries, looks like Dan helped you on your build thread also
  6. Roughly 25mm for the calf closure, 20mm everywhere else on the legs. That said nobody is going to make you drag out a ruler if you're a mm or two off. Uniformity is key
  7. If additional photos of R1 screen troopers with alternative materials being used were brought forth then most likely a change in the CRL could happen.
  8. Hey Matthew, welcome to the FISD. Looks like the crew has already given you some advice. Let us know if you need anything.
  9. Hey Dave great question. Here's a photo of armor used in the movie, note how the strip is trimmed. Hope this helps
  10. Hey Justin the posterior was updated later in the build thread to reflect the correct positioning of the posterior snaps. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
  11. Hey Thomas welcome to the FISD. Here's a nice ATA build thread for you to check out. Basically starting on page 4 but there's useful information on the previous page also. If you have further questions please let us know. I have an ATA also so don't hesitate to message me directly if you wish.
  12. Pros and Cons A. Hard hat liner Pros 1. Custom fit (adjustable) 2. Uses little space inside helmet 3. Good air flow 4. Ease of use and install (especially if you buy it ready to install) Liner Cons 1. Pressure points B. Foam Pads (tactical style) Pros 1. Custom fit 2. Easy to install 3. Comfortable Pads Cons 1. Requires more space than liner 2. Reduced air flow 3. Lack of adjustment C. Foam Pad (non tactical, Movie accurate style) Pros 1. Easy to install 2. Comfortable 3. Screen accurate Cons 1. Lack of ventilation 2. Lack of adjustment
  13. Unless the armor is banned from the 501st and even then it won't prevent people from buying it. Sadly most armor is not purchased from the recommendations of the FISD.
  14. Elbow side minimal return edge. Wrist side absolutely no return edge. Keep up the good work
  15. Excellent job Pam, congratulations. Welcome to Centurion
  16. Looking good Dan. Good luck with your application
  17. No worries Michael, if that's what you want to use have at it
  18. No there's no requirement of what type connections that are used, though Velcro is not a very reliable solution. That said this is your armor if you want to use Velcro you most certainty can.
  19. Ok for basic if painted white. For L2 and L3 you'll need a more accurate boot
  20. Fantastic job on your build Pam, good luck
  21. Currently yes
  22. Left side
