  1. Screen armor, yes, except the traps, I think those are glossy also. Take a closer look at the photos, it's bad lighting, I think.
  2. I did a low gloss Satin, or semi flat on my entire helmet sections. That said, If you have access to movie photos of the helmet, if not I can post some later today.
  3. Looks great. Fantastic job on the adjustments. The posterior and thigh clearances are all over the place between troopers. You found a perfect balance. Nice!
  4. That's awesome Nick. Better late than never. Looking forward to your build
  5. You're quite welcome, and well deserved. JB or Devcon (what I used). Most are quite similar and will definately help with the support. In some areas (with the highest amount of stress) an inner coverstrip with plastic welder might also be a good idea.
  6. Welcome to the FISD. Sandtrooper is an excellent choice. As Glen mentioned the MEPD is the destination. Here on Whitearmor you'll find more building experience than anywhere esle in the world in my opinion. That said, your Sadtrooper will require weathering, this is where the MEPD shines. Goods news is both detachments have stomtroopers with both armors. There's plenty of us Sandtroopers here as well. Ask as many questions as you can muster. There's no shortage of answers here. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing your finished armor.
  7. Wow, outstanding work with the mods Sha Sha. Ingenuity at its finest. A little helpful hint. Every seam, including those you had to create to accommodate for sizing, will stress and flex, especially when installing and removing the armor. Naturally this will have an adverse effect on your paint job. Cracking seams/paint is a very big issue with this armor. May I suggest you follow up the non factory seams with plastic welder, at least on the inside of the armor. Its strong, somewhat flexible and it's sandable. I love seeing all your hard work and dedication. It reminds me of Diana's TK. Keep up the great work.
  8. Congratulations, looking good trooper
  9. Hey Greg welcome to the FISD!
  10. Depending on how accurate you want your build to be, I'd be happy to supply some photos. For the example, regarding the front/center boxes, the base, or the side that is facing the belt is supposed to be curved. Many builders and suppliers do not emphasize this. Here's a screen accurate photo
  11. Welcome back Kevin. Looking for to your build when you're ready.
  12. Hey Andy. welcome to Whitearmor. Looking forward to seeing your build.
  13. Awesome! Looking forward to your progress photos
  14. Awesome work. Weird, without a background the face looks unusually long . Still beautiful none the less
  15. Depending on the application I'm either running 10440 350mAh or 18650 3600mAh
  16. Welcome back Graeme! Great to see you again.
  17. The iPod doesn't have enough output voltage to power my speaker sufficiently. There will definitely need an audio amplifier in the mix to work correctly.
  18. "... higher-end finishes others are spraying through proper paint guns". That's very true. My FOTK was my one and only to receive a professional paint job. As much experience I had with auto guns, I still paid someone to shoot mine. I'd find some way to jack that up. It's hard to believe it been 11 years since building my TFA. Even though it's been trooped in quite a few times it still looks like the day I brought it home form the shop, except for a couple nicks and dings naturally.
