I actually prefer my fiberglass over the ABS. It looks and feels like something military. My 2 cents Silicon Valley Comic Con this past weekend hanging out with Kylo

NEED ADVICE! Joining limb armour, for skinny troopers
ukswrath replied to ComradeDave's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'm assuming when you say 7mm, you're referring to each side with a total combined width of 14mm? If yes and everything looks uniform we're not going to hold it against you. Accuracy is one thing, approvals are another. Keep up the great work -
Just take it slow

Place the back side on a nice firm surface (concrete or other), take a punch and a hammer to the other side (shown above) and gently compress it.

Hey Blayne, thank you for your EIB application CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been posted. Your armor meets all requirements for Expert infantry, welcome and congratulations! . Great job on your build Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. Though none of following suggestions will not effect your EIB status most, if not all will be required to be updated if you choose to apply for Centurion. Nothing to add here. Centurion Suggestions: The ultimate accuracy at Centurion is up to the Trooper however, we see no reason why you should not aim for the top, especially since your armor build is very nice. The following suggestions and requirements are to prepare you for the Centurion if you choose to apply for it. 1) Cover strips tool long. In multiple areas your cover strips are too long and extend past the edge of your armor. They should end with the armor. Easy fix Reference photo 2) Ab to Kidney left rivets need to be painted. The left side rivets are required to be painted for Centurion. Easy fix Reference photo 3) Tip of frown missing. For ANH Stunt the frown should extend outside the tooth area. We are requesting you add this being it will be required at the Centurion level. 4) Ear screws inaccurate. The ear screws are supposed to be "V" shaped. Anovos supplied are pan head. Were requesting you replace these screws. Reference photos 5) Thermal Detonator screws inaccurate. The TD clip mounting screws should be pan head and slotted. I've found the ear mounting screws will work perfect for this so, if you choose to replace the ear screws then you'll have screws needed for the TD. Just paint them black and your golden. Reference photo 6) This is the most difficult request. We commend you for making the required EIB belt modifications for ANH Stunt however, the cloth portion of the belt still does not meet Centurion requirements and we're requesting you replace it with one that is more screen accurate. There are a couple suppliers out there, TKittle for example. You can find them in the sales section. There's also a couple tutorials illustrating how to replace it if you're not sure how to perform this modification. Judging by your build this shouldn't be too difficult for you. That's it. Again, congratulations on your EIB and hope to see you at Centurion.

No however there are specific snaps used on the right front Ab and Posterior that will be required to look a certain way, basically large "S" or line 24 male snap base and those don't even have to be functional. Everything else can be brackets, snaps or even velcro though I cringe when I say velcro and suspension in the same sentence. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

I'm human, just a bit OCD -
Where my fingers are located holding the shin. Looking at it from this point of view the right return edge is lower then the left.

15mm cover strip for the arms. Trim them (forearm halves) so they look anatomically correct in relation to the biceps and bells, If they're still too large for your arms add some foam inside. If you remove too much material then it becomes increasingly difficult to adequately close the gap between the two halves. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/page-1 hope this helps -
Looking good Christian.

5 days? Bottle of CA and zap-a-gap and we have a weekend project. Might look a bit like poo but yea, doable. Nice build job A little much off the back of the thighs but that's old news now.

Hey Jim try not to sweat it too hard. Without having your shins in my hand or some really good pics it's hard to tell anyways. I glued mine in such a way one looked slightly larger than the other but after a how water bath they looked the same. The key here is one side of the shin will have a sharper sloping edge then the other as it leaves the front return edge of the shin. Also, the upper left side return edge (as looking at it with the shin on your leg) will sit lower than the right side. Hope this helps

I have not tried that no. On another thread it was determined that the head size should be roughly 6.5mm across. If this is the measurement or very close I'd say your good to go.

Hero never die! (screen used stormtrooper helmet)
ukswrath replied to Verne's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
This may be a dumb question but why are we trying to color match faded paint? Most paints not properly protected that see ANY light of day or climate fluctuations will change within a short amount of time. Is this being done for prosperity reasons? Just curious -

Ditto on that. Cheers -
Hey All, for you folks shooting for Centurion we highly suggest you update the ear mounting screws and thermal detonator (TD) clip mounting screws. As mentioned in this thread the ear screws should be "V" slot screws not pan head screws and the TD screws should be pan head slot screws not "V" philips. Suggestion, replace the ear "V" screws then take the left over pan head screws and use them for the TD, they're not exactly screen accurate in size but they are the correct type.
