TK96302 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status [ANOVOS] [650]

Hey Jamie, welcome to your EIB application, thank you for your patience. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the elements required for Level 2 CRL. Congratulations and welcome to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by us and your fellow troopers. Suggestions made here are to improve the overall look of your armor. If these suggestions were to effect your application they will be mentioned in the above or below sections. We have a few reas to discuss so let's get to it. The Anovos assembled helmet had a few areas that are not accurate and we're suggesting they be updated. The Vcoder lines come very washed out and were requesting applicants clean them up by either adding or removing paint as needed. The Hovi mesh screens are too fine and should be replaced with some more coarse. There are quite a few tutorials out now explaining how to do this. And finally the ear screws are to be "V" head not the pan head that are supplied. Replace screws Reference photos We're also suggesting some of the excess return edge be removed from the eye sockets as well. Reference photo The TD screws should be pan head slot screws, similar to that used on the ears, hint hint. The Philips head "V screws are inaccurate. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for Centurion. Any needed corrections will be posted here and we one required fix. The waist belt drop boxes are to be aligned with the outermost edge of the ammo belt. The drop boxes should also reside at the lower edge of the ammo belt also. Your's appears to hover 1/4" below and inward. A simple strapping adjustment and then glue them to the cloth waist belt is the most common remedy. Reference photo. Even with Han leaning over the his boxes are still aligned. Hope to see you at Centurion, great job! -
Hey Robert, welcome to your EIB application, let's get started shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Beautiful job on your build. Thank you for making our job very easy. Your armor displays all the elements required for Level 2 CRL. Congratulations and welcome to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by us and your fellow troopers. Suggestions made here are to improve the overall look of your armor .If these suggestions would effect an application they will be mentioned in the above or below sections. The only area we would suggest you keep an eye on the the left side kidney to ab gap. It's not a big deal just a heads up. Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for Centurion. Any needed corrections will be posted here. We have nothing to add. Great job!

TK-11131 requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [DA-props] [648]

Hi Pawel, thank you for your application, thank you for your patience, lets get to it shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. and your armor represents all elements as required for Level 2 CRL,, with that said, Congratulations and welcome to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by us and your fellow troopers. Suggestions made here are to improve the overall look of your armor . If these suggestions would effect an application they will be mentioned in the above or below sections. 1) Shoulder bells could stand to be a bit closer to the chest plate. Tightening some strapping and maybe removing any return edges should draw them closer. Reference photo 2) Shoulder cover unsecured and needs to be curved more. You left shoulder cover is flared out quite a bit. Either tighten the retaining strap or give it a hot water bath and re shape it. Reference photo 2) Too much gap between the bicep and forearm. We suggest you drop your biceps to close the gap between it and the forearm. They should sit pretty close as seen in the reference photo provided. Also, it appears your underarmor is bunching up in the same area. Not sure if its too big or long. Reference photo 4) Back to kidney gap. We're suggesting you tighten the strapping between the two plate to close the gap here. Reference photo 5) Too much gap between the thighs and shins. We're suggesting you drop the thighs to reduce the clearance between the two areas. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for Centurion. Any needed corrections will be posted here. The only area in question is the shim you added on the right side. There's nothing wrong with shim it's just there can only be one seem, you have two. CRL states "For level three certification (if applicable): A single visible seam line is present. You will need to do a little work on this area, like adding ABS paste or similar to the seam to eliminate it. Reference photo. Great job on your armor. Hope to see you at Centurion. -
The Absolute Best Way to Fix a Cracked Yoke?
ukswrath replied to darthaldernu's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Yep -
If you remove material on the elbow side following a 45 degree cut you may not need to heavily alter the wrist side. In addition, by removing all the return edge at the wrist side (a Centurion requirement) and squaring off the remaining edge you'll create some extra space there also.

Congrats!

I have an idea of what's going on but if you could post photos showing your entire arm in armor might help us better. Photo with your arm straight and bent at a 90 degree.

The Absolute Best Way to Fix a Cracked Yoke?
ukswrath replied to darthaldernu's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Cut out the crack using a dremel or other. Fill in the gap with plastic welder, sand prep and repaint. Use the next set of instruction to reinforce the area. Here's my method to prevent cracking in the future. Some will say it's overkill but I have yet to crack. Hey Bryce, sorry to hear about your issues. The glue when properly set (cured) is extremely durable and strong. I recommend some excess protruding outside the cover strip after you've applied the clamping tools. Make sure you're allowing for adequate cure times, 24-48 hours, sometimes more in cooler or humid climates. Also, make sure there's not too much stress in the area in which your gluing, areas should fit together rather easily when assembling. Test first: I good test is to glue a couple pieces of smaller strips of material, let set then check the hold. Hope this helps

Thanks for the kudos Craig. The reason why return edge sizes are not posted are because it's builder specific. What works for me may not work for you, etc, etc. The only clearance I mention is the 1/2" between your body and armor.

The plastic Anovos uses doesn't always corporate. In some areas it's very thin and the score and snap method may not work well or at all. Cutting completely through may be your only option. Note: The material is prone to tearing so be very aware when snapping.
-
Hey Davis as Kev mentioned all you need to do is penetrate one side then snap the excess off. The clean up will be a bit tedious unless you have some sort of electric sander, hand held or other. Take your time, be patient and remember "measure twice cut once". If you have further questions we're here to help.
