Battlefront Magma Trooper Pack Build
ukswrath replied to CrookKnight's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Green florist foam. You can buy it in blocks at your local hobby shop. I don't know of any FISD tutorials but I'm sure Youtube has some, just look up "shaping foam". -

Looking great Darren. Loving the magnet idea for the shin closure, looking forward to see how it holds up. -
Battlefront Magma Trooper Pack Build
ukswrath replied to CrookKnight's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Shaun looking good brother. This thing looks heavy. Have you thought of maybe making the majority of the components out of shapeable foam and foam board? -
Alright Jim welcome to your EI review, lets get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for level 2. Welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few areas to cover here. 1) Starting with your shoulders, as your peers mentioned we would like to see the gap between the chest, back and shoulder bells reduced. Shortening the bell to shoulder strap should close up the upper gap and removing the lower bell return edge will eliminate some space between the biceps, essentially closing the lower bell to chest/back gap. Here's a reference photo 2) Chest plate should cover Ab, not above it. Your issue isn't constant judging by your photos so this more of an advisory. Reference photo 3) Ab plates have return edge. There's nothing in the CRL that states you can't have return edge on the Ab button panels however, the screen accurate button plates do not have it. If you decide to shoot for centurion it would be nice to see the return edge removed. Reference photo 4) Waist belt is sitting low. The waist ammo belt should reside just below or even somewhat covering the lowest ab button. Slight belt re-positioning should do the trick. Reference photo 5) Posterior sitting low. We suggest you find some way to tuck the pesky piece above your thighs not only for aesthetic but to possibly help prevent armor bites. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for the best possible chance of a clean Centurion pass. 1) Waist cloth belt replacement. Though the cloth belt is excepted at EIB it will have to be replaced if you choose to apply for Centurion. The reason for this is because of lack of internal belt support for the holster and other areas allowing belt sag, making it look undesirable. Reference photo 2) Drop box alignment. It appears your drop boxes are not aligned with the outermost edge of the ammo belt. Applying some glue between the drop box strap and cloth belt should hold them in place. Reference photo Congratulations once again and hope to see you at Centurion . BTW beautiful blaster

Thanks Marco. At L3 these areas are to be removed. If it's not too much trouble please remove more from the wrist side and submit a new photo. Thanks again Reference photo -
Hi Oscar thank you for your patience and EIB application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present and your armor displays all the elements required for Level 2 badge. Very nice looking build trooper. Congratulations and welcome to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we'll review observations made by us and your fellow troopers. Suggestions made here are to improve the overall look of your armor. If these suggestions would effect an application they will be mentioned in the above or below sections. We have a few minor areas to mention so lets take a look. 1) Shoulder gap. The gap between the shoulder bells, chest and back plates should be minimal. We encourage you to take in the slack at the upper connecting strap and possibly remove more lower return edge. Both adjustments should bring the bells closer to your chest and back plates. Reference photos 2) Cover strips too long. In in multiple areas it appears the cover strips are too long extending past the edge of the armor, they should meet or be just short of the armor length. Trimming these areas back will make the armor look a bit more uniform and help prevent the cover strips from digging into your flesh or getting snagged on something. Reference photos 3) Excessive back to kidney gap. There should be little to no gap in this area. Tightening the connecting straps should resolve the issue. Reference photo That's it! Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for the best possible chance of a clean Centurion pass. We have nothing to add here. Congratulation and hope to see you in Centurion application soon.

Hey Shawn thank you for your patience and EIB application. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Good to see another HWT applying for EIB. Also, great job on the assembly, pack build and weathering, but enough with my rambling let's get to it shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present and your armor displays all the elements required for Level 2 badge. 1) The lower ear screws should be "V" head slot screws. It looks like you may have added or replaced the originals with philips head type, maybe for reinforcement not sure. Though this not mentioned in the CRL we are requesting these be removed and/or replaced if you choose to apply for Centurion. Reference photo 2) Chest above Ab, Ab riding low. The CRL states chest is to remain down over the ab plate. We also noticed on both left and right sides of the Ab are lower than the Kidney plate itself, which it should be aligned with at the upper edge. If you raise the Ab we believe it should solve the problem in all three areas. Reference Images 3) Right forearm cover strip extends past the upper armor return edge, it should be equal to or below. Reference photo 4) Waist ammo belt is a little low, it should reside at the bottom of the center plate button. Reference photo 5) Thigh ammo belt lower corners should be curved a bit more. Round off the corners as seen in the reference photo below. Reference photo 6) Sniper knee should be aligned with the edge of the shin itself. A little trim and this should be good to go. Reference photo 7) Color in or paint MP40 pouch stitching black and weather them similar to that of the armor. Shiny and new is awesome but it doesn't match very well. Reference photos (no stitching visible) Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for the best possible chance of a clean Centurion pass. We have nothing to add here. Congratulation and hope to see you in Centurion application soon.

Looking good Darren -
For the record, there is no color scheme in the CRL. It has been debated what the color is in the locations discussed above. Even my backpack was approved with slate blue vents. Afterwards some argued they should have be grey. Long story short were all correct. Given the reference photos we have at hand it can be easily argued exactly what the color is. From a DO's point of view you're close enough Shawn, and no discredit to Joseph for trying to make it, in his opinion, screen accurate. We won't make you repaint it for EIB, or Centurion if you choose to apply for that.

TK 36404 Requesting AP ANH stunt EIB status
ukswrath replied to Gio659's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Giovanni, before we get started we need a few more photos posted. We seem to be missing the following: Neck seal Internal armor connections Cod and Posterior connection exterior "S" seal Thermal Detonator to clip connections Not that it's absolutely required but is there a reason why you do not have a blaster? Thank you for you application. -
