  1. In my opinion there is no armor being produced today that would meet R1 TK 501st requirements without serious modifications. From the Helmet down, this is a new beast. Yea it's white, it looks like the OTTK, some areas have similar connections, but that's where similarities stop. Still waiting for someone start making kits.
  2. I whole heartily agree with you Mark however, at this point you may need to consult LFL or Disney. They're setting the standard for what they want to see in public. 3 years ago LFL wouldn't have cared so long as the SW dream was kept alive, Disney is a whole other story and they're cramming their agenda down everyone's throat including LFL, 501st and subsequently at the garrison level. In my garrison, closest to LFL, we're experiencing first hand the "Do's and don'ts" of what were supposed to look like. The joy of dressing up and playing plastic spacemen is slowly slipping from our very fingers. Again, a lot of us are with you on this.
  3. Paul as much as I'd like to agree with you I wouldn't put money down on any costume specifications coming from the Hot Toys series that could be used in the CRL. Their FOTK accessories were proven to be incorrect in a few areas. I think it's best we wait for actual movie screen shots.
  4. If I may make a suggestion, your waist belt (ammo belt) should reside just under your center ab lowest button. Yours looks a bit low. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

  6. Hey Matt Sly or myself will be with your shortly. In the meantime the ANH stunt requires a holster regardless of weapon. You'll need to install one before we can move forward with your application, it's a 501st requirement. Once you've made the correction please post another picture, fully suited up and showing the holster attached. Holster For 501st approval: Holster is made of black leather or leather-like material. Holster is worn on left side of belt and is attached via two leather or leather-like material straps to the belt from behind instead of front. No loops cover the outside of the belt. The holster is affixed with only two fasteners at the bottom (one per strap). The fasteners may be rivets, snaps, or Chicago screws. We also need to see a few more areas, please provide the following photos: 1) Exterior Posterior and Cod snaps 2) Helmet "S" seal 3) Blaster, left side, full view Thank you
  7. Hey Tye, did you need some assistance with your application page?
  8. Hi Pano welcome to your EI review, lets get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for level 2. Welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! . Beautiful job on your armor Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few areas to cover here. 1) Upper shoulder bell clearance. Though yours aren't bad they could stand to be tightened up a bit. We like to see them as close as possible. Tightening up the upper straps should do the trick. Reference photo 2) Left forearm bunched up. This may just be a picture issue the still worth mentioning just in case. Your right forearm to bicep clearance is perfect but your left is bunched up a bit. If it's a photo issue you need not worry, if it's a connection issue we suggest letting it hang down a bit more. 3) Ab to kidney clearance, alignment and rivet paint. The Ab to Kidney clearance is a bit much and the upper edges of the two should be aligned. Simple strapping and waist belt adjustment should do the trick. Reference photo Also, though we understand wear and tear (paint chips and wear) do occur you may want to keep an eye on and maintain areas like this as you troop. 4)TD control panel offset. The circular button on the panel should face upward or angled outward ever so slightly. Yours appears to be facing away from the armor. The simple fix would be to roll the TD tighter on the mounting clips. Reference photo 5)TD screw need should be painted black. Reference photo 6) We know this is probable just a photo issue but just a reminder to ensure the TD is properly and firmly seated. 7) Cover strips appear too long. Not sure if this is a photo issue or if the rear cover strips are actually too long but they should stop at or before the edge of the armor itself. In your photo it looks like they extend past the edge. If they don't please disregard. If they do please trim accordingly. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for the best possible chance of a clean Centurion pass. Our biggest concern is your Ab to kidney clearance. When submitting photos please keep in mind there is to be 1/2" or less, thank you. Hope to see to see you at Centurion. Congratulations again
  9. Hey Rob, aligning it with the lowest edge of the plate does not guarantee a straight belt. Switching belts you do run some risk of not getting it perfectly straight, the good news it doesn't have to be, just close. Without removing the cloth belt and being able to use your current Ab buttons as a template the installation can be a little tricky. I wouldn't worry to much though, take your time and measure as many times as needed. The key note here is to remember the ammo belt portion is to ride just below or slightly covering the lowest center button. If you take a look at some screen shots these belts are all over the place when it comes to alignment horizontally. Hope this helps

  18. If I may chime in here, the accuracy of your armor as a whole is ultimately up to you the applicant. Our goal as DOs is to make you look your best when you're out in public representing the 501st legion. Centurion is the elite level and so what we point out here is only for your benefit Using examples of build threads is beside the point, and apparent oversights with other applicants can and will happen so should not be mistaken as a pass. As Sly mentioned you have a beautiful set of armor, yea you have a couple areas we want you to correct however, if you're content with the way it looks and would prefer not to alter it then let us know and we'll go from there. No worries

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Nothing to add here, head on out and make the Empire proud
