Great job Jeff. An area of concern for me are the shoulder bell gaps. They should be very close if not touching the shoulder covers. Your GML may or may not mention this. Here's a reference photo

Getting Joseph up to speed lol Quick Draw Mcgraw (for the older gen) lol Metal on shoulders eh? Sounds like an FOTK mod . Worked for that costume, who am I to argue.

Hey AJ, a couple issues I see by adding a "full length" strip is, the front 1" or so may need to be flexible to correctly follow the contour of the chest plate or it won't look correct. The other is concealing the double thickness of plastic so it still looks correct. My suggestion, covers are most prone to cracking in the peak and valley areas, maybe place the the extra material in just that area. That said, this is your armor and you want to protect your investment. So long as the area looks correct from an exterior view of point, have at it

I agree with your fellow troopers, this is beautiful work despite minor imperfections.

Beautiful pack. Bummer on the crack however, on a positive note you can claim battle damage. Also, if you weather it no one will even notice

AP ANH Stunt Build-- March to EIB!
ukswrath replied to CoatHanger's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Key words here: Minimal gap and no overlap is what were looking for. Didn't say mandatory. -
I do have a question, maybe I missed it somewhere but is there a reason why you have side access on the Ab section instead of the single rear access?

AP ANH Stunt Build-- March to EIB!
ukswrath replied to CoatHanger's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Minimal gap and no overlap is what were looking for. The tighter the connecting straps between the sections the less likely you have any issues. That said, it doesn't have to be perfect. Keep up the great work -

TK-22706 Requesting ANH EIB Status [WTF] (845)

Hey Jeff, one of the DOs will be with you shortly. While you;re waiting please post a photo of the waist belt inner connections. Thank you -
Hey Jordan, thank you for your EIB application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Looks like all the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor appears to display all necessary element as set out in the level 2 CRL. Beautiful job your build, Joseph and I would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few minor issues to go over so let's get to it. Starting at your helmet, the outer edge line on the ear rank bar does not match the tears and traps. We're suggesting you thicken them up a bit. Reference photo Next up, shoulder bell gap. We generally like to see minimal gap between the shoulder bells and the chest and back plates. Though your gap is minor the difference between the front and back views is what caught our attention. We're suggesting you remove as much gap as possible or at minimum even out the front and back. Reference photo Bicep to forearm gap. Being you're a tall trooper we take that into consideration. Our suggestion is if possible lower your bicep even further to help reduce the gap between the two armor sections. Reference photo Hand plate gap. Not sure how your hand plates are secured to your rubber gloves but they appear to be either too far forward or not very secure. We're recommending you reposition the guards, re-secure or both. Reference photo Jumping down to the waist belt, the ammo belt corners should be aligned with the outer edge of the cloth belt. The red lines drawn illustrate where the ammo belt should reside. Reference photo Holster attachment, though the holster can be attached by snaps as you have it, rivets or Chicago screws are considered more accurate. Reference photos And finally dropping down to the thigh ammo pack. The rear upper corners should be squared vs rounded. I know this isn't the best reference photo but you get the idea. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. At this time there's nothing we can see that will hold you up from a clean Centurion application if you choose to apply. Congratulation again, great job

FN1313's Jimmiroqaui FOTK Armor Build

Doing good Kyle, keep up the good work. Painting can be frustrating, my only suggestion is warmth. Dry warm environment is key. If can you recreate it by making a booth or waiting for warmer weather it will save you a lot work. -
lol
-
And for the record I'm not saying orange is correct lol. They did do a great job duplicating the environmental effects I have to say.

Excellent work Greg, looking awesome. As for the weathering colors, that's been up for debate forever. The canon film location is a dirty orange/tan color however. Black and white or low quality, low light canon photos don't help in determining the correct colors, not to mention those could change between troopers. This is probably the reason why the placement of the dirt and other details is what's judged at the SWAT level, not necessarily the color.

Lorelei's 5'4" ATA ANH-S Centurion-Hopeful Build
ukswrath replied to TheLorelei's topic in ANH Build Threads
Not all snaps are created equal. The warping of the armor is directly related to the E6000 to snap metal reactivity. If you use a better quality snap, something with anti corrosive coating you shouldn't have this issue. I know Tandy gets pushed around the FISD and on the FB pages quite often but to be honest higher grade snaps like Fasnap and DOT have no reactivity to E6000 and are virtually the same cost as Tandy. Also, thinner armors like RS and Anovos are more susceptible to these warping issues than with ATA. Hope this helps -
looking good

You can always glue some scrap abs plastic to the cloth belt (over the existing hole) and make a new hole.
-
It should be covered by the ammo belt, if so just make another hole

I deleted it

Great question, let's post this question on the July CRL update thread. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/45204-july-2018-request-for-crl-updates-thread/
