  1. Disregard my last statement
  2. Same problem we're resolving with the pop rivets used on the shoulders, sniper knee and ammo packs. Until last year when decent photos were brought forth no one knew better. Now that we have applicants asking if they can use them at the higher levels do we beat them to the punch when it comes to the return edge? To be honest, looking at older photos or newer ones can it be said without a doubt none of the ROTJ armor has wrist side return edge? It's the only armor that is overlap, is it then possible that it's the only armor that has return edge? Inquiring minds want to know Heck I can go either way to be honest,
  3. lol I know you purchased them from me, my point was either from me or Joseph you would have been covered
  4. Back to the forearm wrist return edge. Taking a closer look at the screen shot, it clearly has return edge. So, do we make it an option or no. What say ye?
  5. If you bought the TD clips from me then the screws are correct, if you got the screws from Joseph then the screws are correct. I can't vouch for anyone else
  6. Hey Jordan Joseph or myself will be with you shortly.
  7. Hey Jared, thank you for your patience and welcome to your EIB application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Looks like all the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor appears to display all necessary elements as set out in the level 2 CRL. Fantastic job your build, absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making the corrected fixes as suggested by your fellow troopers. That said, Joseph and I would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. At this time the only suggestion we have to to watch your back to kidney plate gap. There should be very little gap here. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. As mentioned above please reduce the back to kidney plate gap. Thank you for a nice clean build and application .
  8. Doing great Dave. I would advise against using vercro on the connecting joints for a couple reasons, first and most importantly it's not accurate and your approving GML may not approve you if noticed. 2nd if something happens to the velcro white you're trooping you won't be very happy. If you would like to increase movement trim the lower lip. Here's a reference photo.
  9. Have you guys tried industrial velcro? I use it in all my helmets, with and without the bracket, works great for vibration isues. With my cooling bracket system adding the foam also helps to eliminate vibration issues.
  10. Nice work Greg . Regarding the Chest to Ab plate placement, I wouldn't be concerned with that as I much as maybe the weathering when you get to that stage.
  11. From Steve (starsaber25) "Here are some photos that I have laying around. One thing is very clear. They certainly built the suits with the overlap method. And there is even another back pic here where you can see that there is a snap present in the butt plate. And here are the pop rivets: I can only assume that the pop rivets on that shin were there for the sniper plate. But I even thought I had some more. I'm going to try and figure out what I did with them. But I will copy my post from the June 2018 CRL update thread and put them in the July 2018 CRL update thread. Again just to put this all in one post: On all of the parts for level three where it talks about constructing using the butt join and cover strip method I think it should be changed. I think instead of just allowing it, I think it should be required for level 3 to have the overlap method. I mean I'm pretty sure that CFO and TM are the only ones making ROTJ armor and both of them work for overlap construction. I also think that we should allow for pop rivets for the sniper plate and the ammo pack. And also for the rivet in the shoulder bridges. I would just have to dig up that post to get the photos."
  12. Starsaber25 says he has additional photos he'll post later today, stay tuned
  13. Like the photos at the top of this page?
  14. Forgot it started in the staff section then moved into general, here's some highlights. Kidney & Posterior Armor For 501st approval: A white flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip is present around all edges. A separate kidney/posterior armor is not allowed - the kidney and posterior are combined/fused to a single plate/one piece. The crotch tab of the butt plate area may or may not have visible snaps. For level two certification (if applicable): The edges of the hip area should be rounded/curved (not like the straight lines found on the ANH/ESB butt plate). For level three certification (if applicable): There are no visible side rivets on the kidney plate, unlike ANH/ESB suits. There are no visible snaps, rivets or brads on the crotch tab of the Posterior Armor tab. However, I have been going through screen shots of ROTJ with the help of Joe and it is very clear to me that a snap does appear on the butt plate. Is this something that could possibly be removed from the Centurion requirements? Here are the photos:
  15. Well I stated thigh "Ammo Pack", but who knows on the sniper knee as well.
  16. ROTJ CRL updates: 1) Shoulder cover pop rivets. L2 In progress working on correct language 2) Thigh ammo belt secured with 3 pop rivets L2 In progress working on correct language 3) Sniper knee secured with pop rivets? Discussion stage 4) Overlap construction L2 5) Fore arms with return edge? Discussion stage 6) Removal of the need for elastic strap around rear of shoulder bridge? In Discussion stage What's the official stance on the thigh ammo belt connections?
  17. Good times, Happy 12th
  18. Copy Worth mentioning, if you choose to shoot for the higher levels of accuracy with your armor you'll most undoubtedly be requested to update the DLT-19 if it's your primary weapon Don't want you to be surprised later.
  19. Looking good. My only concern is the sections from the barrel towards the stock and the muzzle appear a bit wide. Modeled after the German MG 34 here's a photo what it should look like.
  20. Also, if you're shooting for Centurion don't forget to remove all the return edge from the wrist side.
