Thanks for getting this up and running, Sally, and for reaching out to Chris the DO's and myself. Glad we can get into this costume again.

We aren't going anywhere, so take your time and get the results you want. This is going to make the perfect addition to the IAC CRL -
Maglight was the first torch I thought it was based off. Still have my mini mag with old school micro bulb. Hasn't missed a beat in almost 30 years, lol.

No way to charge it. The batteries they use don't always last very long, so many years ago I created a workaround for the device. See below

Thanks for getting back onto this one Justin, and for laying it out with the additions. Really, the only delay we are faced with at present is the LMO team not adding any new CRL's until they have the platform transition complete. Then there may be a backlog for a little while. Do you have all the separate part images also ready to go? We should be able to have this all ready for submission in a reasonable time frame so it can go into the LMO queue along with Cpt Enoch.

Greetings all During a recent post by members a discussion sparked about our current Field Training Exercise program, This in turn spurred on a conversation in our staff thread. Looking at the 6 year now running forum, we took some of the comments from the Face book group discussion onboard and have decided to re lunch this program under a new name. Not only is it a name change, but along with it comes a refresh. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to this improved program Trooper Missions and Deployment or TMD for short. This name change felt fitting for our Detachment as we are the troops, infantry or army of the empire if you will. When out trooping you are indeed deployed and on a mission to capture smiles, raise charity funds and awareness or simply make someone’s day. The new Forum sections are now live, and all the existing posts from the last 6 years have been transferred over, nothing changes with applications, but we have introduced a new and improved Side bar badge which I am sure everyone will agree looks much better than our current shield with number. Simply continue to post your trooping counts in the new threads, you do not need to re add you old posts. All new applications will automatically get the new badge, and all existing milestone achievers converted over to the new badges. This is a win for everyone who has or will participate in the program But wait, there is more We are also introducing a “Letter of Commendation” awarded to all passing the Trooper mission milestones. For those already with Milestone banners, you simply need to request your Letter of Commendation via the request thread in the revitalised section. Please only request your most current deployment achievement. This may take us some time to facilitate the many troopers with achievements, but there are plans to try and automate this in the near future. We expect many will want to receive their letter, so your patience will be greatly appreciated. New threads for tracking your milestones, requesting a milestone banner, and requesting your letter of commendation if you already have achieved a milestone are below. Please start using these, as the old system is now closed. I would like to thank all the staff that took part in the discussions, and those who were direct contributors to making these new sections and updates, and entertained the ideas of change. These are always a group effort Go check it out.

Hi all, We are undergoing a few Forum updates which will temporarily cause some sections to be locked and others disappear. There will be an official announcement to follow shortly about these changes so we thank you in advance for your patience.

Best First Order Stormtrooper Armor Kits | Buyer’s Guide (2025)
Sly11 replied to sillyface's topic in Quick find resources
The beauty of the FO armour is the gaskets between the limb joints. I'm sure you will be fine at your height. We have troopers that manage to fit into OT armour which is a little less forgiving, although you can get longer limb pieces for them, but still, you should be fine. -

Have you included the indent on the front edge as per our chat, or is that something you will leave until ready to resin cast hand plates? -

I would agree with this statement, but it is up to your GML whether they will approve it at basic. We have no jurisdiction over their call, and can only offer advice. They certainly have a means to ask the detachment through the Legion forums and will get answers from the DL, XO and DCA's if they feel they need it. CRL's are not written to the level of prop replication, nor do we have a level like MEPD that asks for that level of detail. {Pick one on screen and make it look exactly the same}. Generally CRL's are written to have the best common representation of what is seen on screen, not a one-off, or missing part, gaffer tape and the like. For many detachments and Legion, it's about being as uniform as possible and trying not to overcomplicate a CRL, specially for entry to the 501st. I hope this gives a little better or broader understanding of the CRL creation aspect
-
We have had images for quite some time of the thigh and hip ribbing, but until the CRL platform transfer is complete, we can't add this in. Correct, this isn't a new CRL, just an addition to the current, along with a couple of other amendments to cover the New Gen costumes. Hopefully we can get back into updating sections of several of our CRL in the near future, yep we got a list, as well as getting Enoch and Night Trooper CRL's green lit. Please be patient and this will happen. To note, the term "Non Saga" is going to replace some language on a few CRL's. This was a decision made by the LMO team to reduce the length of newer CRL titles, and bundle or group some together. Not everyone is a fan of the term, but it is happening to a few of ours. I have a plan which I need to discuss with Chris to attack CRL upgrades that we can hopefully cover as many as possible over the next 6 months. Once we settle on this, I'll have more info for everyone.

NOT a new Member Introduction - Praetorian Blasters
Sly11 replied to postmortem01's topic in New Member Introductions
Rest assured John, there is no pressure whatsoever to share anything BTS or, for that matter, anything you are not comfortable sharing. We totally understand and respect the NDA situations, and would never wish to jeopardise future employment or the good relationships we have with those who are able to work in the industry. -

TK-18199 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status [TM] 542
Sly11 replied to Spadille's topic in Request Centurion Status
Congratulations Rachel!! -
The options you have are RS Prop master as they will commission build. You need to supply them a very specific set of measurements. Some of the other makers also offer a commission build service, same as above. You will need to reach out to them to see who and when they can. Go check who to avoid list, and the various armor and where to find, as we have vetted makers in the list, who have proven track records in supply and assembly. A local member of your garrison may also offer assistance or commission build. All these obviously add cost to your costume and their time frames may vary considerably, so the best expectation to have is a 3-month plus wait, and if it's less, that is a bonus. So you have some research ahead of you to make sure you know what you are up for if working to a budget. To add, none of us had experience or total knowledge on how to build/assemble armour when we started this journey. Actually assembling and learning along the way is a lot of fun, and you will take pride in the accomplishment. It's never a race when making costumes, it is a time filler, a hobby and a lot of fun.

Hi Noah and welcome to FISD! Research is indeed the key to this hobby, and was a lot harder years and years ago compared to now. We have a great team of staff and members who are well versed in the construction of hard armour, so ask as many questions as possible. We all want you to have a successful build and enjoy the journey to becoming an approved Stormtrooper. There are also 2 additional and totally optional levels of approval, to get your armour looking even closer to screen accurate. Do check these out as it is easier to build to them as you go rather than making adjustments at the end of your build.
