(Re)starting my Stormtrooper build
kevin_kevin replied to jaydesu's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Hey there, I'm in Sydney and a (relatively recent) member of SCG. Our garrison is extremely happy to help get people over the line. We have armour parties and there have even been instances of people just going over to people's places and sorting out kits. Definitely join up on our forums and we'll hook you up! If you have any trouble just message me here and I'll connect you to the right peeps. -
I’ve had a great time so far, already clocked up 11 troops! Will look for a way to come down and say hi when I get a chance.

I am indeed behind carrier grade NAT on my home connection and via mobile. At work I am not behind carrier grade NAT, but was seeing the issue earlier today from that connection. That's still a shared connection though.

I logged in this morning and selected "Keep me logged in". The response from the server for the login request was: {"key":"[hidden for security reasons]","expiry":"1755649169"} When I check what that timestamp is with a unix epoch timestamp converter I get the attached photo. From this it appears my token expires 8 minutes after it was issued. Is that the expected session duration? I'd expect "keep me logged in" to result in longer sessions than this. If this is not expected behaviour this would be caused by either a setting in the forum software for session duration, or a misconfigured clock that thinks it's earlier than it is.

I use Zen, Chrome, iOS Firefox and Safari on iOS. Happy to do more in-depth testing if you want me to rule out specific browsers or look at what’s actually happening. (I’m a web developer.)

Hey everyone, I got approved a few weeks back and figured it'd be good to introduce myself. I'm originally from the US but I've lived in Sydney for almost 20 years now. Looking forward to catching up with you all on whichever side of the pond we meet up on. With unquestioned loyalty, TK-33151

ICOMM and trooper chatter question
kevin_kevin replied to m.pire421's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
My icomm is set up so that it distorts my voice slightly, then does the static bursts when I stop talking. There's no push to talk or any kind of button, it's just automatic, so I just talk like normal and it sounds trooper-ey. -
ANH Build (putting on and taking off the armor correctly)
kevin_kevin replied to TrooperMiles's topic in ANH Build Threads
My kit is from Dave. Here are the instructions he gave me for putting it on: Does that help? I'm in Sydney so I can't meet up with you in person, but that hopefully gives you some direction. -
I've done @Sly11's mod on mine with this battery: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007173333563.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.57a81802P6vyNk Worked a treat for me, icomm was going strong at the end of my troop this last weekend.

Modding the Icomm with an external battery.
kevin_kevin replied to Sly11's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Just wanted to necromance this to say thank you to @Sly11 for the idea. I'm in Sydney and of course could not find the silly battery here without spending crazy money on shipping. I got two of these and we're off to the races, even USB-C rechargeable. I'm grateful I have a backup battery I can troop with, and that I won't have to take it apart when I need to swap. You guys are the best!- 38 replies
