Hi Tom, and thank you for the detailed photos. I'll check something with you first. The ear bars, are they painted grey? Due to the lighting in the photo they look black so just wanted to confirm they are the same colour as the frown (painted Teeth) Probably the first thing that I notice is your holster straps are not ANH style, they are RotJ so not suiting the movie the rest of your costumes construction is based towards. This is an easy fix without having to buy another holster as it is just modifying the straps and re attaching them with Chicago screws, which will allow you to remove it from the belt if you ever need to. ANH Straps show the other side of the leather are short not loops and for basic approval can be black or tan in colour. Check out any of the ANH Stunt build threads from the last couple of years so you can see what I am talking about and how others have achieved theirs https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ You can also check out the ANH gallery for screen references and images of screen used suits. There are a couple of minor dressing issues you can also adjust to look like that just stepped off the set look. Even your thigh heights up as one sits a little lower than the other in your images, probably just a strap length adjustment and it's done. Your backplate has quite an overlap of the kidney plate and technically should sit on top of it. Again I think this is a simple shoulder strap adjustment that will bring it up higher and get closer to the desired look. Hope this helps

New to FISD and looking to join the 501st
Sly11 replied to SpiderTom37's topic in New Member Introductions
Welcome Tom, we are here to assist you in every way possible. Take a look at the gallery section as we have broken it up into the specific armour found in each movie. You can also check out build threads on your specific brand of armour for more ideas. Looking forward to seeing some photos of your armour so we can give the best advice on getting you approved and out there trooping. -
Welcome Henry, great to see another Aussie looking to join the ranks. This hobby requires a reasonable amount of research, that's for sure, but we are here to guide you through all of that. New era TK armour is excellent, the one limitation is what is currently available as kit form, but that is destined to change in the very near future. Another thing to be mindful of, this hobby ain't necessarily cheap. Options for R1 New gen armour currently are as follows. 3D print files. These have varying degrees of accuracy/inaccuracy, and need tweaking to be closer, much like the R1 Black series helmet. Hard armour in kit form, there is fibre glass, and ABS and resin pieces for sharpness combo kit There will be an Aussie kit available, but I don't have a time frame on that as yet. Once you have made 5 forum posts, you will gain more access to other sections where you will find build threads, armour makers etc. Lastly, the 501st have a library of costumes called CRL's (Costume Reference Library), these are the guidelines to assisting you in achieving basic approval. Yes the 501st has standards, more so than other costuming groups, but these set us apart and keep the legion as the premier costuming organisation around the globe. Here are some helpful links https://crls.501st.com/fisd Good luck in your journey, and remember this one simple rule, there is no such thing as a stupid question.

TK-71627 requesting ANH (STUNT) CENTURION Level (WTF)(414)
Sly11 replied to TK 71627's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hi Chad, you are best off starting your own thread rather than the info getting lost in someone else's. -
The server can only hold a small amount of images due to the sheer voloume of members. You need to use a share service like IMGUR or Flicker, to be able to share unlimited images.

Hi kaleb, As you are quickly realising, this hobby requires a lot of research. Luky for all new members, this is now a lot easier then when I and many much older members started. Now days, you only need ask a question and we will point you in the right direction. This resource (FISD) is massive and can be very overwhelming, but rest assured, there is no such thing as a stupid question, so keep asking for what you dont understand, keep looking at the threads you are directed to and the advice given. This is a long journey we have all taken, and you won't regret it. lots of fun, a great community, and we do a lot of good out there in the wide world. Welcome to FISD and I hope you love this new adventure as much as we all did when we started down this path.

You need to make 5 posts and your access will change slightly. Welcome to FISD.

Mark from CFO (Cast from original) he is your goto man for that. You will find information in the post link below under RotJ, just scroll down the list until you find the heading. Glad you made it over here, as we are the biggest resource for all things TK related.

New CRL's currently under construction/completed

Updated first post to reflect all that are completed -
Looks like Kevin Weir finally ready to launch his New gen TK kits on a pre order!! Will be good to have another maker for this armour at last.

I spoke with the Southern Cross Garrison GCO, and he has confirmed that Jafo is retired from legion.

In our 3D parts and Technical section. Plenty of different TFA files and bits and pieces.
-
That looks to be a TLJ helmet as it has the teeth and pointier Jib. Cardinal is TFA era so you will need a different helmet by the looks.

Hi kaleb, Ultimately your best bet is to take a look at the CRL (costume Reference Library) for the specific costume you wish to build. Match the text and images to what it is you are looking to buy. Basic level is your first stop to get 501st approval, but you can certainly build from the outset with all the extra trimmings to make it easier when going for Expert Infantry then Centurion levels. Most importantly is building the costume to fit you properly, that is what separates approval from have to make adjustments and changes to passing and gaining your membership. Unfortunately, your link throws up a message " Oops! That page can’t be found." because you haven't separated them into individual links its just one big one. Fix that so members to go into them and offer you feedback As an example, things like the neck seal for R1 only has a basic stipulation, so there's not much to worry about there as long as it fits and conceals the neck properly.

So if they aren't TD's, then why are they not ours! And with these puppies in Mado&Grogu, called Stormtroopers, then there is all the more reason they should live here. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1389454283218580&id=100064620646873&rdid=7IT4ozGw7F70JiaY

Exciting times ahead August! Looking forward to seeing what you have coming next and of course photos of the Weird All troop

I'll ask, can't hurt right!

It wasn't my first choice either, but Legion made the decision on all CRL's not part of the original saga to become Non Saga.
