  1. Hi Evan, great choice in armour, I too went with AP . The only time you are going to here the words ebay are right now. I got my compression top and tights from ebay at less than $20 each including shipping, check it out there is loads of it on there, just make sure you ask the question is it all black. Blaster, go to Doopy Doos website and buy a resin E11 kit, you need to build it yourself, but it's loads of fun and passes the time while you wait for your armour
  2. Don't use a fast speed on your Dremel when cutting, to avoid excessive melting. Clamps magnets and tape are all very useful when assembling various parts so I recommend having all of them. Buy the plastic clamps that come in a pack. If you are in the US, Lowes sell them, if you are in Australia , Bunnings or Masters sell them. The kicker can be found in most hobby stores that sell Zapp a gap or similar CA glues. Other good basic tools to have are: Lexan scissors ( hoby store) buy a pair with the curved blades for tight tricky curved spots. I also use Tin snips for large straight areas, and a industrial box cutter and steel ruler for shims and cover strips, using the score and snap method. It's fast and a good straight line. Remember measure twice, cut once. Hope this sheds some light for you.
  3. I have heard a few paint the inside of the helmet with Rustoleum Flat black, as it is fine to use on plastic.
  4. G'day, and welcome aboard, you are in good hands in the FISD ask lots of questions if you are ever in doubt
  5. Absolutely awesome piece of work Tino, truly inspirational build. As Tim (Dark CMF) said, wish this was done before I built mine, cause it's a benchmark in what can be achieved in a resin kit E11. Well done
  6. More Centurion Awesomeness, congrats.
  7. Wow, congratulations Tim, another future TK enters the world.
  8. Ahh yes forgot the hovi mix tips, I ordered mine from CFO (sskunky) on the boards, they are indeed cast from original hovi's, and are assembled and painted. I can Highly recommend them.
  9. Depends on the kit you order. Mark can trim the armour for you at an extra charge, or it will come untrimed. Things you will need for higher level approvals: Rubber S trim, inner drop boxes, darker lens material, rubber gloves, latex or rubber hand guards , Centurion approvable rivet kit ( Echo, here on the boards can supply the rivets) Various elastic widths for strapping. You will need to decide on which strapping method suits you. Thermal detonator clips, also available here or make your own. TK boots, or buy black boots and colour them... Sorry, I have assumed you didn't know any of this,I will no go on, but if you think there is anything else you my need or have a question on, other will chime in I'm sure.
  10. How is echos fan set up wired? I have 2 5v fans 2 switches and 2 x AAx2 battery packs, would like it to run like Echos where i can isolate 1 fan if needed or run both. A diagram would be awesome as i think it would help many others out.
  11. Make sure you look at plenty of reference shots from the movies as well, don't just rely on build threads, everything you need is on FISD . Looking good so far , I agree with Sith Lord, file out the teeth a little more and square up the corners.
  12. I would have to agree with TK Bondservnt, very nice so far and looking forward to seeing the bucket complete.
  13. G'day Alq Veers, how's the weather down in Newcastle. Get stuck into that build mate, plenty of help for every step of the way is found here on FISD
  14. Good to know Slangen. KWDesigns does inner drop boxes that fit AP and are well priced.
  15. Yes he does take payments, normally a $200 deposit
  16. What is wrong with the drop boxes?
  17. We all felt daunted by the prospect of building armour. There are plenty of people here in FISD that can guide you every step of the way. One line I here repeated often in these forums is, "most mistakes are fixable", so, in saying that, you would be better off, doing your research and buying armour from a vetted maker here on FISD. It seems the ebay guy is not forth coming with answers to your questions. This rings alarm bells to me. If you are going to do it, do it the right way and avoid sellers on evil bay .
  18. Hi F1Guy AP is in Canada, he ships to his business partner in the US and then he in turn ships out from there. Apparently international shipping direct from Canada is far more expensive to ship direct, so he uses Canada-US-to where ever to save on costs. I am in Australia and have been waiting about 4 weeks so far for a shipping notice from USPS. Hope this helps
