  2. So Anovos have applied the 20% rule to recasting!!, may have casted parts from various makers, change them enough to make it their own so it's not called a recast. Sorry just a theory, I can't back that statement up with anything. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. You guys have too much time on your hands! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Jay and thank you for such a quick turn around on those two mods. You are now officially granted Centurion!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Great work on the shims, both on your sides and the back of the thighs. We are glad to see you took Gazmosis advice and re-did them. All your cover strips corrections look great, and are now more screen accurate, as they needed to be for this level. We do have a couple more suggestions though before we finish off your app. It's obvious you've been trooping in your armor as seen by some of the battle scars, excellent! When you get a moment please tough up the side rivets and you might want to reinforce the same side kidney shim as it appears to be cracking. You have a great looking set of armor Jay and this is why we're asking you address these areas. Great job trooper!
  5. Popcorn, this will be a great thread. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Glad that these are finally in hand and a build thread has been started. Finally an end to the speculation and controversy. Now maybe we can get back to being plastic spacemen, feeling excited and seeing some great builds. Now where is that kidney notch!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Alright Aaron. Incredible set of armor you have there, and thank you for your EIB application. Let,s get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required photos have been posted. Your armor contains all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB. With that, we would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Excellent job in constructing your armor, and that sweet blaster. Sorry with the confusion in requesting a photo of the 22mm notches. To be honest we thought we were looking at a Centurion application!! great work. With the quality of builds and applications we have coming through its hard to find fault, and this is no exception, so all we an focus on are little adjustments .If these have a bearing on any future Centurion application they will be mentioned in that section below, but for the best part the suggestions are to get you looking the absolute best you can. Cover strips: A couple of yours look like they may have a sharp point that could dig into you or potentially damage your under suit. The top of the strips on the back of the thighs, could have that small corner sanded down to follow the line of the ridge, also the top of the strip on your forearms. I know from personal experience armor bite sux when the top of the fore arm and bottom of the bicep armor come together with the tender part of your inner elbow jammed in between. Drop box thickness: Just check how thick these are as they should be approx 15mm. As you can see from this screen grab they are fairly slim. Centurion Suggestions: This is a simple one we would like to see for Centurion. I think either shorten the straps between your back and kidney plates or maybe lengthen the shoulder straps.either of these adjustments will close the gap occurring between the two. It does worsen when you raise your arms so maybe doing both should sort it out nicely. Congratulations again Aaron and hope to see a Centurion application from you soon
  8. I demand to see you fully kitted up with shield on arm! ............please. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Interesting conversation going on here Ukswrath and I have discussed the notch position issue and I believe he will be if not already done, sending you a PM . I love it when stuff like this comes up and is openly discussed. Good work, carry on . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks to all involved, I love reading these and look forward to next months. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Hi Lorenzo I agree you could lengthen or loosen the shoulder straps to drop the back plate down, as it is not a huge gap, I think that is a good option. Looks like you are across what you need to do, well done. See you in Centurion soon
  12. Hey Steve!! Thank you for the chance to see this incredible set of armor, and thank you for your Centurion application. Let's take a look! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. It has been determined that your armor displays all the necessary requirements to qualify for Centurion. Ukswrath and I would like to congratulate you on an outstanding build and welcome you to the rank of Centurion! Other-Armor Assembly: In this section, we will summarize observations made by your fellow troopers and our own. Sometimes these observations lead to suggestions to improve the final look of your armor. If any changes are required, they would be listed in the above section. First off, you have done an excellent job with the Blaster. Good balance of weathering and the gloss grip really makes it look like a different blaster from your EIB application, well done. Thank you for jumping straight on to Germain's suggestion of trimming the last of the return edge out of your fore arms, and posting up the new photos. The only thing, we can see that would take your armor another step closer in accuracy would be to find some flat or dome head slotted screws for your Thermal Det. I think you have tapered, or counter sunk type heads on yours. Picky I know, but we thought we better jump on it rather than T5H, also known as (Accuracy Hag) Lol It was a pleasure for us to review this application as it was for your EIB. Once again Congratulations sir
  13. Hi Lorenzo and welcome to your EIB appraisal, without any more delay, lets see what we've got! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been posted. Your armor displays all necessary elements required for EIB. With that, we would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry! Congratulations. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section I will touch on suggestions and observations made by both ukswrath, myself and your fellow troopers. These are suggestions to improve the final look of your armor and do not affect any application unless specifically stated. You have a nice and clean build here Lorenzo, the helmet paint job is well executed, your blaster is on point, there are just a few maters of minor adjustment and a modification we would like to see made so you look your best. You will be required to make these changes for your Centurion application, and they are listed in that section . This is one of those things, it's not written in the CRL, but something that stood out to us was how thick the drop boxes in your build look. Drop box thickness. (approximately 15MM) The rule of thumb here is 15mm thickness, as you can see from the screen shot below, they are quite slim in comparison. It would be great to see these trimmed down and have you looking as sharp as can be. Screen shot Centurion Suggestions: 1. Belt position to low. The ammo belt should sit at the base of or slightly overlapping the main button plate at the bottom, easily achievable for you. Adjust to red line 2. Close gap between shoulder bells and shoulder bridges. Its a little hard to tell whether the bells are pulling the elastic out from under the plastic bridges or your straps are ajust slightly to long. If it is the later shortening the straps will bring the two to virtually if not touching each other at the top. (Green circles) 3. Gap between back and kidney plate is too large. The CRL states no or minimal overlap between the back and kidney, but there should also not be a large gap. We believe by simply shortening the connecting straps this will close up to an acceptable level. 3. Close up the small gap between Ab and kidney plates This may have only opened up due to your arms being raised, but eather shortening up the straps, or using a webbing material instead of elastic will keep it closed. the opposite side is perfect. Once again Lorenzo, a great clean build, and as we have mentioned, only some fine tuning required. Make your adjustment, thin down those drop boxes, and hope to see you in the Centurion Request thread soon. Well done.

  15. Hey Karl, could you please add the required photos of your blaster to application. We need left side, right side and an end photo showing the D ring. Thank you
  16. Hi Lorenzo, thanks for your patience. Ukswrath and I will be looking at your application soon.
  17. Awesome work Mark, and damn you!, makes me want to order another AP kit just for the updates..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Hey Andrew, thank you so much for your patience, and for this great Centurion application. Without further delay, lets go through it. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted. Upon review, it has been determined that your armor displays all the necessary requirements to qualify for Centurion. Congratulations Andrew, you made it, and you look awesome! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: It was a pleasure to review your armor, the little drop box mod required from your EIB review, has ensured they will now always sit in the correct position. Thank you for posting up the extra images of your main trooping blaster (Hyperfirm E-11). I know a few of the die hard E-11 fans on FISD really wanted to see the correct scope on your show piece Sterling, and it is for this reason we requested you use the other E-11 for your final approval. The Hyperfirm E-11 have always been excepted at Centurion, providing they had the "D" ring added. I sincerely want to thank you again Andrew, for your co-operation, understanding and adding those photos of your primary Trooping weapon. We all hope you get your hands on an the correct M38 or 40 scope soon, I'm sure everyone is looking forward to seeing a photo or two of your kick a$$ (Real Deac Sterling) in all its glory. Once again, congratulations on a sweet build Centurion!!
  19. eBay sells fans, if you know how to wire them up, but if you want a great fan kit, you can't go past Echo's set up. Send him a PM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. G'day Ben, and thank you for your application, and another sharp RS build, lets take a look. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB. Welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. If there is anything that would affect a future Centurion application it will be mentioned in that section at the bottom. To be honest, there is not a lot to talk about here, its more about balancing and fine tuning. Thigh positioning: Your thigh armor, with the ammo pack on could sit a little higher, as it is quite a bit lower than the other. Back to Kidney overlap: There is a visible overlap between your back and kidney plate, that looks like it may not always occur, but I think you are already looking to make adjustments. This would be great if you could reduce or eliminate it for a future centurion application Blasters: Vern mentioned your blaster weathering was lacking detail. Photographs never really give us the same representation of what can be seen first hand holding and looking at the item itself, so all may not be as it seems with your images. In saying this, when it comes to weathering I am a firm believer in less is more, and a little research on what materials the parts of a real Sterling were made of as well as the various bits and pieces the prop department decided to stick on them. Parts like the T tracks which are made from plastic might look different to the steel barrel and trigger guard. of the E-11. Centurion Suggestions: The ultimate accuracy required for Centurion is up to the trooper, but there are a few things we would like to see corrected so you look your best. Sniper plate alignment: I'm not sure what type of bonding agent RS use, so this may be a little tricky to accomplish, however the plate should follow the ridge of the top of the shin. Yours appears to sit below the ridge, and we think this is something that should be corrected for your Centurion application Correct Sniper plate positioning Drop Boxes: These need to align with the outer edges of the plastic ammo portion of your belt. in a few of the photos, yours are sitting in from there. Below is the correct alignment Side Rivets: These will most defiantly need to be painted white for a future centurion submission. Centurion is about a higher level of accuracy, and we do want our Troopers looking like they just stepped off the movie set. CRL wording. Rivets are painted white. All in all, you have a very nice set of armor and only a few adjustments and modifications, and we hope to see you in the Centurion application thread soon, well done Trooper Once again congratulations on achieving EIB!!
  21. Hi Ben, thanks for your patience, we are reviewing your armor, and will be with you shortly. Sit tight.

  23. Hi Eric, thank you for your application, lets go through it. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are here, and all requirements have been met for Expert Infantry. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor, but before we go into this, I would like to say WOW you have done a great job, and the new AM 2.0 chest and back plates are a vast improvement on their previous version. As mentioned by Gaz, we too thought your Biceps did look a little large at the bottoms. We would like to thank you for posting the additional images of your biceps to help clear up any possible fitment issues, awesome work!, there is no doubt they do fit you well. Only two things to note, you can definitely remove a fair bit of return edge on both sides of your back plate. Trimming these back so there is an even amount right the way down either side will certainly tidy this area up. There is also some excess that can come off the seam where the Ab and kidney meet at both sides, again giving a tidier appearance. Centurion Suggestions: Get yourself some rubber or flexible hand guards, make the above suggested mods and take all the required photos for the next level. Thanks again for a great application and we expect to see a Centurion from you in the near future.
