  1. Congratulations Glen, well deserved mate and a fellow Australian, it just doesn't get any better.
  2. Nice build thread Frank, looking forward to seeing more images of your progression and then your application for EIB Carry on.
  3. Eliminating any chance of ambiguity is a good thing, and one i would endorse.
  4. I think we should stick with painted. Easy for anyone to paint, not as easy to get anodized screws of the correct type. The addition of the above mentioned, will be a much welcomed change as it eliminates ambiguity. The Thermal Det screws are something that we bring up quite regularly in the review process for a nice to have accuracy mod, and everyone makes the change so lets set it in stone. Anovos listened to us and made the ear screw change, so we should specify the type easy enough n the CRL's.
  5. With you shortly Glen, Tony and I are working on this one together.
  6. Hi Andreas With images that small it does make it difficult for anyone to have a good look at your beautiful armour. Could you please try and use Imgur, and re upload so the images in this thread are large and easy to identify what we need to see. Imgur is easy to use once you have a play around with it and there are plenty on here that use it and can assist you. Thank you
  7. All good boss, get them cookies outa the oven
  8. Hey Nicholas, thank you for your patience and EIB application. Lets check it out. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. and your armour meets all the necessary elements as per the level 2 CRL . Tony and myself would like to both congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry Rank. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have just a few small items to cover with the Anovos helmet There are a number of things that can do with some tweaking, the frown paint work, incorrect ear screws and mesh in the Hovi tips as well as the Vocoder paint work, I have placed reference images of each of these below. Of coarse none of these are your fault as the helmets come pre built, but i must say the rest of your armour build is exceptional, so it would be a shame not to take the extra steps to get the helmet right. Stunt frown paint should extend to the edge of the last tooth. Yours will need to be longer. Know this may be a shadow from the camera angle but the paint should not leave the teeth area as in the CRL Helmet For 501st approval: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Reference image Hovi mesh Hovi screen mesh is too fine. The mesh Anovos uses is incorrect, it should be a bit more coarse. Some folks are using tightly woven flower sifter screens, but your best bet is to contact Hovi sellers here or elsewhere for replacement screens. Vcoder edge lines are too soft. The screen used helmets have very definitive Vcoder paint lines. We're suggesting applicants touch up the area as needed. The Anovos provided ear mounting screws are incorrect. Again, no fault of yours however, the screw type should be "V" head not the provided "Pan" head. If you haven't changed out the original ear screws we're recommending you do so. Don't discard these however, as they can be used to replace the Thermal Detonator screws. Reference image Belt positioning: If you can bring your ammo belt center up so its covering the bottom of your main button plate it will look just like many of they do in the movie. This should be a quick and easy adjustment for you. Reference image And lastly, Joseph mentioned in your app thread trimming off a few sharp edges on the top of your thighs. We will always recommend removing anything that looks like it could either do damage to yourself or your under suit so maybe a touch of sanding on those and any other sharp corners/edges that you find will save you in the future. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern this is where we discuss them. Thank you for adding some extra images it does make it a little easier to see details ahead of a Centurion application. If you make the above mentioned corrections this should be an excellent example of how good this kit can look. Congratulation and see you in Centurion soon
  9. I for one wonā€™t be using a ruler lol. i agree on the overlap construction, from the mass of screenshots available, itā€™s a clear cut case that the new kits were made in that method. What that would do unless the language suggested otherwise, is mean no preconstructed ANH armour could be approvable. Makes it a little more confusing I guess, unless the CRL was to state, overlap or but join is acceptable. personally I like that bus close to scream accurate so it would be overlap construction a major st for level2.
  10. Hi Nicholas Was in the process of doing your application and we can no longer see the images, just links any chance you can look into it for us so we can complete your appraisal please.
  11. Hey Asa, welcome back and thank you for your Centurion application. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present and your armour contains all element as required in the level 3 CRL. Thank you for making the updates suggested during your EIB application so with no further adieu, Tony and I would like to congratulation you on your new rank It was obvious from your EI application that Centurion was the goal and great to read at the start of this application, that you were still nervous waiting the final result, it is a well deserved accolade. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: We have nothing to add here. Head on out and make your garrison and the Empire proud sir
  12. Hi Paul, thank you for your EI application. Lets see what we have. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Great work Paul Welcome to the ranks Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Thank you for making the adjustments we mentioned in this thread, you must admit, you look so much beeter, great work. On an accuracy side, those screws on your thermal det could do with some black paint. If you want to take it another step, the original screw heads were a Pan head type which is flat and not domed as in the below reference image Reference image Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. From what we can see, the only item that stands out is your drop box positioning. They should be aligned with the outer most edge of the ammo belt and just below it with little to no gap. For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. I hope your photo posting woes are over lol, please use the Centurion photo check list and post your images up in any future application, in the correct order and preferably in the one post. That's it Paul, congratulations and hope to see you in Centurion soon
  13. Lol I would have put money on the fact you would be first Glen, excellent work mate Tony and I will do this one together for sure .
  14. Hi Nicholas, we will be with you shortly, but in the mean time could you please add your action shot, it is missing from your application.
  15. Hi Gary welcome back and thank your Centurion application, let's check you out. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present, and your armor displays all the elements as set out in the Centurion CRL. Tony and I would like to congratulate and welcome you to the L3 rank trooper. Great work. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Nothing more to add, Congratulations sir.
  16. Hi Gary, just noticed that your shoulder bells were sitting nicely in your EI photos, but here in your Centurion images they are sitting away from the top of the bridges. Could we please ask for you to correct them as we need you looking your best for this one Post up a new photo and we shall get cracking on your review.
  17. Hey Asa Thank you for your EI application lets see what we have. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome to the rank trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. There are only a few things to cover here, all very easy to fix. The first item is a common change that we request many applicants make, and it is to bring in the top of those shoulder bells so they virtually touch the plastic shoulder bridges. Your bells could also do with a slight rotation forward to reduce the overall gap between than and the chest plate Screen reference The gap between Bicep bottom and the top of the fore arms can be reduced if you drop the biceps and raise the fore arms. Its only a small amount each but it will even out the gaps so you are in balance. Reference We also noticed you have plenty of return edge on some of the pieces that could be trimmed down a touch. This has no bearing on your application more a comfort thing that also allows a bit more flex in the armour pieces. The top of the Ab plate looks like it could stick into you or damaged your under suit so reducing that return might prevent that. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. You have supplied a few extra images that always help us make better decisions when appraising armour builds, so thank you for those. I cant see anything that would hinder a successful Centurion application, so make a few minor adjustments make sure you have all required photos submitted and get that Centurion application in. Congratulations Trooper, head on out
  18. Hi Asa I am in the midst's of your application review and we have found something that we would like you to change. It falls into the level 2 CRL so will be a requirement to pass EIB For level two certification (if applicable): There shall be three square buttons, one centered in the middle and one on each end of the plastic ammo belt.. It appears that your 3 buttons are in fact rectangular and not square, so we will require some of the extra material to be trimmed off. Hopefully these are glued on with E6000 so the task is quick and simple.
  19. Hi Paul, thanks for persevering with uploading your images and also your patience. Tony and I are just catching up on the apps, so while you wait, we are going to ask you to fix up a couple of minor things to tidy up your application. Your fellow troopers have mentioned both the gaps between your shoulder bells and the plastic bridges, and the side gaps between your Kidney and Ab plates. Both of these will need to be brought in., so shorten the top straps on the shoulder Bells if you can. The gaps in your mid section need to be no more than 1/2 " on both sides. At the moment you ave basically no gap on the rivet side ( Ideal on both sides for Centurion) and a large gap on the opposite side. I think if you let the straps out on the rivet side , you should be able to get both gaps to the 1/2". (This one is part of the EI CRL and will definitely need addressing) One last item, you will need to remove the white pant from the cod rivet, as it should not be painted. Please post up a couple of new photos when done.
  20. So so impressive, outstanding designs. This is going to be almost impossible to select one winner. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
