It's all good Frank, I saw your application you did good. And, the bigger guys are always taken into consideration with Shoulder Bells and overall fit. We don't discriminate how big or small, short or tall and hope to help everyone we possibly can, make the right armour purchase and mods. Waiting for Tony to respond -

Yes Yes yes!!!!!!! You have a valid point sir. I know Tony really likes to see the belt sit right in the sweet spot It really comes under the dress standard that we like to see, and yes this one comes up 50 + % of the time. -

Bloody hell you guys, just caught up. On the Hand guards, Centurion is our most accurate level, so lets not dull it down. If you want it, you will do what it takes. Glued as per the movie is my stance. Rivets for the knee ammo pack: cap rivets single or double and split rivets, as long as they look correct on the outside, but my preference will be the Cap. Both Joseph and Trooper bay sells them, so not hard to get but i dont want to see pop rivets with the hole filed in under any circumstance. Tony's comment on the shoulder bells lol, this is my pet hate and we really need to add it to the CRL. -
Hey Alfonso, welcome and thank you for your EI application. Lets see what we have! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present and your armour displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome to the rank trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. We have a couple minor suggestions to mention here. Thank you for attending to the items suggested by your fellow troopers, things are looking much better. If you have also attended to the shoulder bell gap as seen in the below image, make sure you post up fresh photos for a future Centurion application. This is a common dressing issue, and sometimes it's hard to get good help when kitting up at home (I speak from experience) Just make sure your Thermal Det is pushed down securely onto the canvas belt and central to the main ridge of the kidney plate. Last couple of items, the first can be conducive to the type of strapping used, but just see if you cant close down the gap a little on the left and eveviate the slight overlap on the right. It is most probably a slight difference in the elastic straps that causes this so perhaps even swap them over from each other to see if that balances thing out Your thighs do look a little oversized at the top, not a deal breaker but if you ever feel the desire to pull the cover strips off you could trim some of the surplus out and re-join them. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. We dont really have anything to add here, so if you can do some minor fine tuning and make sure you have all the required photos ready to go, get your Centurion application in. Congratulations Alfonso see you again soon.

Please glue them on, It is for Centurion so we like to see the accuracy There is a 2 part CA glue that will adhere the flexi guards to the rubber gloves. One part is a pen which you paint both surfaces with first, the second is the actual glue. Most hardware stores carry it.

March 2018 Request for CRL Updates thread
Sly11 replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
My apologies Paul, haven't been on the forums as much as I like due to the company I work for being taken over, but things are starting to return to normal. The biggest Pro is a whole lot of happy members that want the battle action look. The biggest Con is a whole lot of members that disagree with how the weathering should look or wanting to do it a different style from another scene. RotJ: I think this is the easier of the 2 and Endor weathering looks pretty straight forward. Obviously we will need a section to clearly define what classifies as Endor weathering and photo examples, it's kinda why I think it needs its own CRL or at lease a mini version. Rename the standard CRL by adding Death Star, for shiny white and have a secondary CRL adding Battle of Endor. TFA and TLJ appear to be a different kettle of fish and will need more work to find a happy medium. As mentioned in this thread there are several styles of weathering determined by local and scene. Which ever way we go, someone is going to want to head in the other direction. I dont like gray areas, which leave to much open to interpretation so a medium will need to be found. We dont have an inclusion in the FOTK CRL for the Bloodied hand print on Finn's helmet, yet I saw a few at Celebration last year, so members like Brandon got approved as per normal then modified his armour after the fact which brings me back to my earlier post in this thread. The question is, do we want to have an input into how the weathering looks on a specific costume, or take the easy route and let members do what they like with their armour after they are approved. I am in two minds. -

Hey Eric thank you for your EIB application and your patience. Let's go through your application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted, and your armour meets all the necessary requirements for level 2. With that Tony and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry, congratulations trooper Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Thank you for attending to the side gap, it looks much better. Only some simple fixes to go through so lets start with the Shoulder Bells. These can still come in closer to the plastic bridges, and as seen in the below screen reference image, they can virtually if not be touching them at the tops. It should only take a shortening of the black elastic straps to achieve this and in turn will also make the front of the Bells sit a touch closer to the side of the chest plate. We can also see a dressing issue with your Sniper shin. Just needs a rotation so the cover strips line up from shin to thigh, and just something to be mindful of when kitting up. Reference image Only one thing to mention on the helmet and that is the lower ear screw looks like it could be tightened up so it sits closer to the surface of the ear It does appear to be jutting out quite a bit Next item is simply an accuracy, or nice to have item. The screws used on the Thermal Det, as seen in the below reference image, were a Pan head flat blade type, where currently you have a dome head variety. Like I said, not a deal breaker just another step closer to screen accurate. Reference Image Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos are requested that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. I must say, based on what we can see, there is no reason for you not to apply for Centurion. Be mindful when dressing that your front cover strips should line up. Shins to thighs and fore arms to Biceps. Providing nothing shows up in the additional photos required for level 3 it should be plain sailing. Congratulations once again and head on out proud of your achievement. -

My 2 cents worth I am of the opinion, they can do what they like with their armour after they are approved at EI or Centurion what ever level they want to aim for. This is unless we create a CRL specifically for a dirty FO TK as I am not into doing all the work simply to hand something off to the MEPD. If they havnt thought about it and are not working on it, then it should be ours. -

Excellent mate, I have almost finished your review, I have made mention on the sniper plate, so will leave it in as i think you can still rotate that shin outwards a bit more. Back with full review shortly. -

Hi Mark, welcome and thank you for your EIB application. Let's take a look. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted., your armour displays all necessary element as set out in the level 2 CRL, Congratulations. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Very sharp indeed Mark, great build and it fits you so well. Hard to find much wrong here at all, so only some tiny little tweaks to speak of. The shoulder bells could still come in at the tops sp they are virtually if not touching the plastic shoulder bridge. one sits a touch closer than the other, so some small top strap adjustment will sort that out. reference The only other item is a nice to have for accuracy thing The screw used on a Thermal Det were slotted pan head as opposed to the dome head type. reference Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. We can only again see one very slight adjustment to be made, this one is required to meet the level 3 CRL Your drop boxes out of alignment with the emds of the plastic ammo portion of the belt For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. We find ourselves at the end of a great application, a wonderful and tidy build, and another successful Expert Infantry applicant. Congratulations Mark, Tony and i hope to see you in Centurion review soon. -

Sly11 replied to Hoda's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Eric Apologies for the delay, but while you are waiting can we please ask you to atend to something minor, that doesnt meet the level 2 criteria please. As per the CRL For level two certification (if applicable): Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. We can see on one side you have no gap, which is perfect, but on the rivet side the gap looks to be over the 12.5mm allowance. This should be easily fixed as you can have the small gap either side as long as they are within the parameter. Obviously fro Centurion there will need to be no gap either side. Please adjust and post up a new image for the left and right sides. -

G'day Matthew, thanks for your Centurion applications, lets get this done!! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present, and your armour meets all the CRL elements needed to achieve level 3, so without further delay, Tony and I congratulate and welcome you to Centurion rank. What a sweet set of armour mate, fits you very well, you should be proud as i know the boys and girls of Southern Cross garrison will be marching along side of you Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Head on out and show off that armour Matthew -
Hey Justin, thank you for your EIB application and your patience. Let's get cracking. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted, and your armour meets all the necessary requirements for level 2. With that Tony and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry, congratulations Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have some suggestions to get you looking the best you can. Most are dressing issues but there are a few mods we like to see done on the Anovos helmets if you are intending on applying for Centurion. The shoulder Bells should basically touch the plastic shoulder bridge, so shortening those top black connecting straps will bring them in. Next is only a dressing issue, but make sure your fore arms sit evenly spaced from the biceps and the wrist end to the hand plates. It also appears yours are twisted inwards slightly. Align the front cover strips from bicep to fore arm and you are good. Reference Image If you can adjust the Velcro strapping between the back and kidney plate so they sit right on top of each other, it will look perfect. May we suggest replacing the Anovos supplied Velcro system with elastic and snaps as it generally is better for movement and also can last much loner. You will find loads of examples in the internal strapping photos of other EI applications. Also keep an eye on the alignment of your calf enclosure to keep them level. Reference Image Ok now to the helmet mods we will want to see in your Centurion application. The frown really stands out on the Anovos bucket as it finishes too short and very square on the ends. This needs to continue to taper out to a point, and the paint shouldn't go onto the gum line. We see you have replaced the hovi tips in the extra images you added in the application, so thank you, I don't need to talk about those although they are circled., and lastly, if you can sharpen up the edges of the Vocoder so it is more defined on each ridge, its also going to look much better. Reference Images Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos are requested that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. You are already aware of the extra rivets required for the Abb plate and they are a must as per the level 3 CRL as is the male snap for the upper corner on the opposite side. For level three certification (if applicable) Three rivets, approximately 5/16"(8mm) diameter, are present on the left side of the abdomen armor. Note: The original rivets used for the TK armor were bifurcated rivets or split rivets. Rivets are equally spaced along the depth of the armor and about 10mm from the edge. The heads are rounded or domed. Note: Paperclip brads are not considered to have a domed head. Rivets are painted white. A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate is present. Well here we are at the end of your EI approval, well done sir on a successful application. Make your adjustments and modifications and we hope to see you in Centurion review soon Congratulations

Hi Greg, welcome and thank you for applying for EIB. Let's have a look your armor. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Without further delay, your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Ukswrath and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestions may affect the application process, it will be listed separately in either the above EIB or below Centurion requirement sections. What a fantastic job you have done with this kit, so clean and aligned, wow we love it. If there was anything to suggest it is only the small gap opening between your back and kidney plate. Perhaps a thicker piece of elastic or slightly shortening the strap you have in the center should fix that. Also the screw types on the Thermal Det. These are a Pan head slotted type as opposed to the dome head we see below Reference Image Centurion Suggestions or Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. As Centurion requires more of the finer detail photos, unless something stands out in those, there shouldn't be anything standing in your way to achieve level 3 Congratulations on a very well deserved Expert Infantry award, and we look forward to seeing a Centurion application from you in the very near future. -
The gap between the top of your shoulder bells and the plastic shoulder bridges. These should be virtually touching, it will also help them sit closer to the chest plate. It also looks like some of your photos are missing, plus could you please add a photo of the end of your blaster showing the D ring. Thanks Justin

Holes in ear bump for hearing system
Sly11 replied to lucnak's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
Ear holes will not be an issue at all, I have them in mine and Tony and I are only interested in CRL requirements and getting you looking the absolute best you can for Centurion. Cracks as you well know are a fact of life for a trooper, so as long as you are repairing them so they wont get worse , all is good. ABS paste and some sanding and polishing will conceal them and would always be a recommendation we would make but it wont affect an approval.
