  1. Star Wars arcade? Now you're just showing off! LOL Good luck on your TK. As I'm 5'5, I went with AP.
  2. Looks damn good! My ab/kidney armor are set up on a suspenders/utility belt system to easily 'slip' into. My only issue with my kit (AP) is my left calf, because of the sniper knee plate. I'm only 5'5, so you can only trim so much.
  3. I have the icomm and VOX as well. The icomm is attached to my fan system using velcro. I have the headset attached to my helmet liner and the microphone sits on a sock behind the 'vocoder' with white duct tape holding it down. The microphone is perfectly in front of my mouth.
  4. I have a pouch attached to the back of my chest plate, using industrial strength velcro. I usually keep my things in my bin as well.
  5. I'm going to be taking some notes from your topic here. I have a deactivated Sterling as well; but the barrel was cut in half. I will have to degree all the parts as well. I will need advice on where to get/make power cells, t-track, what type of scope to get, and where to get a counter.
  6. I used black strapping on the shoulders and forearms instead of white. Ask your GML if you could do it. It looks more 'tactical' with black than the white. But if you're going for a higher level like Centurion, then stick with what you have.
  7. I use Hanes nylon thermal undershirt/pants that you can pick up at Target/Walmart for less than $30 for both.
  8. I was wondering what kind of helmet liner to use as well. Currently I'm using a hard hat liner I purchased from Trooperbay. Instead of hot gluing the helmet tabs to the inside dome, I'm using small pieces of industrial strength velcro. I would love to have that helmet liner in the first picture with the same black paint (which color is that, flat black? ). Any suggestions where that liner can be found?
  9. I'm glad someone brought up this subject, as I was curious about the same thing. Cheap shaving cream, huh? How long do you leave it on the lens and how much do you apply? Do you just leave it until it dissolves on its own, after application wipe away right away?
  10. There's black chemical gloves at Walmart for $5
  11. I was going to say the same thing: Lightsaber-ish. Possibly an end of a rifle barrel
  12. Wow, what an amazing build! My TK is AP as well and just made it into the 501st Legion at the basic level. Maybe you can give me some pointers for the next level. Awesome job
  13. They look down right ugly, anyways
  14. Not sure about this, but don't the mic tips have to be black, and not silver tipped?
  15. Good post! I was looking into the icomm as well.
  16. I'm a noob as well when it came to the TK. But when my TK arrived and inventoried everything, the helmet was the first to work on. With only two pieces and the ear pieces, photos from here; it's the easiest to work on and put together
  17. I ordered the same thing from Trooperbay not long ago. I was in fear I would screw up the painting. Ultimately I went with paint and I did okay.
  18. Okay awesome! Thanks! Several other Troopers said the same thing.
  19. Just a quick question regarding the standard and revised painting for the Ab Buttons. Is the Revised color scheme what's required for General Acceptance into the 501st? I bought Blue Angel Blue but I also see here French Blue #14. Should I spend the money to get the French Blue or will I be okay for acceptance if I use Blue Angel Blue?
  20. Late post: harness has been built. This consists of suspenders (Walmart) and black work belt (Lowe's), strapping, velcro and snaps. The velcro is used for the shoulders, to attach the shoulder bells, which also has velcro inside. Straps for the thighs has clips (parachute Buckles from Jo Ann Fabrics). The Blaster already has the Doopy doos pieces. The LED was replaced. The scope front was bored out to place a small lens in the front. The back eye piece was sawed off, piece of round disk was placed inside which also had the target reticle. The peephole of the scope was hollowed out and replaced with a curved lens which magnified the reticle. After all that, one coat of Krylon Metallic Aluminum/Brilliant was sprayed on. All lens were covered.
  21. I was the same way in thinking of not weathering my Blaster. My paint project starts tomorrow or this weekend. I'm going to weather it, but not as much as others i think.
  22. I am in agreement with you except for one thing. Now, I'm not about to get into a debate over theories because the series is science fiction. Just hear me out for a second. As you mentioned between Episodes 2&3 Clone trooper armor technology improved. Although this is true, the Republic was in full war mode and the war budget was almost infinite. By the end of ROTJ, the Empire had to be in retreat and assets were probably frozen. Upgraded armor is inevitable; real or fiction. White is very nice and grabs attention. But not tactical at all. I think it's time the Shadowtroopers get the spotlight
  23. This is informative and helpful! And if possible, find a fellow Trooper in your Garrison that can assist in Armor building. Also known as Armor Party! I received my TK from AP, and definetly was excited and nervous with the amount of work will be done. Building the helmet and painting was easy. But I don't have the tools for everything else. The Velcro and staps and buttons are cheap thankfully. But Parachute Buckles can vary between $1.50 to $3.57 each (large flat) apiece!
  24. Not to sound biased, but I ultimately went with AP. The customer service is awesome, and understanding with me and was able to make payments when I could. I'm 5'5 at 154 pounds so this armor was better suited for my build.
  25. Awesome! Thanks for sharing your celebration and your talent for your armor hand guards!
