  1. 😂 LOL! This Marine's been there, done that, got the shirt! HWT brings the heavy and the pain! TD... Y'all are just rent a cops! LOL
  2. I got quite afew things from Trooperbay and did the same with AP. I ended up getting my gloves and holster from AP; but my white belt came with my kit. I got my O2 canister clips and fans from Evilboy as well. But I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase helmet fan system from Echo. Evilboy's fans are okay, but because of the size of the fans, don't really do the job well. Echo's fans are abit bigger and you definitely feel cooler. For added detail, get the iComm with the Aker Voicebooster speaker. It amplifies your voice and gives it the artificial static burst effect. And when you get done, you should look into having a second costume, the Heavy Weapons Trooper! We can go either way, TK or HWT! Sandtroopers don't have that privilege! 😉
  3. I'll have to do the same because I was having the same issue. I thought maybe the battery of the Aker voicebooster speaker had something to do with it. I'm just afraid that if I put too much tape around it, that it won't be able to pick up MY voice
  4. To give you an update on this blog, I asked afew of my friends if they had speakers with its own power source. My neighbor loaned me his personal iHome speaker. This works pretty good and the sound quality is decent. I purchased today a speaker that was on sale called the Tech and Play Bluetooth Speaker. Both can be purchased at Walgreen's for roughly $22. The loudness is really good and clear. I was running the Sandtrooper radio chatter from my Samsung Galaxy S5. The odd thing I noticed that the speaker seemed to be picking up an FM/AM station somewhere but was extremely faint. Guess it adds to the 'atmosphere'. So I put my phone and the speaker (hooked up with a audio cable) in the radio box of the HWT Pack. And it sounds great. My thought was to take some of the battery 'pressure' off of the Aker voicebooster that I already use with the iComm. So I recommend to you troopers on trying this out. Now it sounds like radio chatter coming from the radio!
  5. It's always good to have another HWT! Not many of us around!
  6. Awesome indeed. Ive got this discussion saved as a favorite and will be keeping in touch with you guys
  7. Very awesome! Thank you for the reply. I will look into the website today and maybe start a payment plan for one. I have a DLT-19 that I built from my Hasbro blaster, but definitely not as detailed as yours! 😆
  8. Would you be able to work on payment plans? And would you be able to hollow out the barrel?
  9. Im already a HWT as of 2 months ago ðŸ˜! I added the mini CB hand speaker to the side of the pack as a detail for the radio on the pack. The radio chatter MP3 tracks are connected to the Aker voicebooster speaker as well as my iComm. This effect sounds great and authentic, at least for 2 hours. The iComm for whatever reason starts acting up and cuts out my speach or cuts in and out. I simply used a door hinge as a bracket to hold the CB handset
  10. For my barrel, I used a vacuum cleaner extension tube with Pvc couplings. The extension tube was a perfect length and girth for the barrel
  11. Unless of course you want that little bit of attention because you're in the special forces of the Stormtrooper Corps; Shocktroopers, Heavy Weapons Trooper! Ooh Rah!
  12. My understanding that ATA is better equipped to handle guys who are abit bigger than the our build. You and me have about the same dimensions in everything except that I'm 5'5 and 150pds. Im going to be biased with AP because I went with them. They had the option of their pieces trimmed and I wanted the holster/gloves addition. (which oddly enough I no longer use because I transitioned to HWT). As for your nose issue, with whatever who you go with, you should cut out eyelets for your helmet instead of using the whole visor piece. This oddly enough made more room for me; the visor used to sit on my nose or push against it.
  13. Both I think. I'm under the impression that you can have an audio file play from your iPod hooked up with the Voicebooster speaker at the same time with my voice
  14. Not 100% sure where this post would go, so I apologize if this is in the wrong area. As I was going over my HWT Pack and making some adjustments here and there, I came across a CB Radio in my grandfather's garage. I wanted to see if it would look good with a small CB hand speaker attached to the side while the curly radio wire is hooked up to the 'radio'. So this got me thinking about the radio chatter on police channels. Ive read somewhere there is something like that but Star Wars themed (?). I have the Voicebooster speaker that came with the iComm. So I know it's possible of using my iPod with the speaker at the same time with my microphone. I would assume the troopers at MEPD would have something like that. Can anyone help?
  15. Wow that looks pretty good! I was skeptical about the boxes because of the initial shock of the cost. But looking at the details of the boxes, you can definitely see the quality. Heck, half my boxes came from Dollar Tree and Walmart and maybe spent less than $20. But hell, maybe later I'll look into those boxes!
  16. In case you need an example, here is me as a Heavy Weapons trooper. I became one because I really wanted to be Tarkin's personal guard from Rebels. But I'm not going to purchase a whole new kit for a Rebels look
  17. Holy crap, that Just looks like a whole lot of nonsense!
  18. LOL No disrespect towards you troopers! Us Heavy Weapons Troopers wear the same 'equipment' and weapons. And we 'fight' for the same cause!
  19. Looks like if I search enough I will find the right threads! LOL I'm in the same boat as well. I did an okay job on my DLT-19 and have 'the itch' for another weapons project. I'm just about finished with my Sterling/Blaster project too
  20. Everything looks amazing and it's always good to hear we have another Heavy Weapons Trooper than another Sandtrooper! Too many of those guys! LOL Long live the Shock Trooper Corps! (Did you by any chance make a build thread/tutorial on your Mini Mag?)
  21. I have an AP Bucket as well. It really does depend on your head size (that's what SHE said!). I'm able to have military helmet padding, Evilboy's fans and Echo's fans, my iComm and a microphone in the helmet with a little room without being claustrophobic. I haven't painted the inside of it black. But it's great look inside and out
  22. I'm going to need to replace my lens, as I have glue streaks on one of the lens. Where/how did you get yours?
  23. What an informative video! Thanks for sharing this
  24. I appreciate the feedback and positive criticism too. By no means am I as artistic as everyone else here. But looking at the original scope and the pieces I saw at Home Depot/Lowe's, got me thinking. And if I could do this, then share 'the wealth'! I'll definitely look into getting some 'green stuff' and I saw another tutorial with the scope lens insert on this forum that I may try out. (So I'll edit out the $10 bit until I have a 'finished product' LOL)
  25. Yeah I suppose you could add more details to your liking to make it more 'accurate'. Consider this a 'poor man's affordable scope'. As for the feet of the scope to attach to a scope rail, was a minor detail I forgot. You could use a pen tube, pieces of wood, etc.
