  1. This is a simple and cheaper alternative to the resin models and maybe even Doopydoos. No, this isn't 100% accurate; and would be better for a pipe build than an actual Sterling. But real scopes are expensive as heck. So here's the supplies that you will need. Prices are based on Home Depot *(1)Washer finish brass #12 $1.18 *(1)3/4' PVC coupling $0.28 *(1)3/4' PVC cap $0.42 *(1)Fender washer 1/4 zinc $0.12 *(1)3/4' PVC pipe 10ft 200 psi $2.17 *(1)(smaller/thinner than 3/4' PVC pipe $2.15 (1) On the 3'4' PVC pipe, you need to cut off 6m (using the bottom measures on a retractable tape measure) (2) The 3'4' cap needs to be measured and cut. To match the M40 Scope eyepiece. This needs to measured out as 2 1/2m. (3) You can put a thin layer of E-6000 if you like, before applying the cap and the PVC coupling on the ends of the PVC pipe. (4) Apply E-6000 (or any other epoxy) on one side of the Fender washer. (5) Cut off 2m of the smaller PVC pipe and apply E-6000 on the end for the Fender washer. (6) Apply thin layer of E-6000 on the Brass Finish Washer. (7) After everything is assembled and dried, I used Krylon Color master Metallic Gold for the undercoat, then Black. *If you have any questions on how to build this send me a PM.
  2. I've had a similar discussion regarding pauldrons; at least for the ranking structure. I recall reading that Black is enlisted (Cpl and below), white is SNCO (higher ranks above Cpl) and Orange for Officers. Anyways I am Heavy Weapons Trooper with a Black pauldron. I understand that I'm considered as EU from the game Star Wars Battlefront. However, it's very possible I may become Canon if my character will be in the new Star Wars Battlefront game soon to be released. I originally wanted to have the pauldron because I saw Rebels and fell in love with Tarkin's personal squad of Stormtroopers with black pauldrons. Alas, I was explained in order to be that particular trooper, I would have to have the same type of armor/helmet design from Rebels. That wasn't the direction I wanted. So I went with the Heavy Weapons Trooper from Star Wars Battlefront. And it just so happens that they are the equivalent to a heavy weapons unit in the Marines (technically Stormtroopers are the Marines of the Empire, which I served from 1998 to 2007 )
  3. Okay, so how did you do it? Because I have had the same issue with posting pictures from my phone
  4. I'm 5'5 and my Stormtrooper costume came from AP (Authentic Props).
  5. Amazon. Maybe Hasbro if you can order from them.
  6. Please update my profile at your convenience please! TK-16309 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=17655
  7. Now what about posting photos from a Samsung Galaxy S5 through the Tapatalk app? Do the photos have to be a certain resolution?
  8. I have started to build my DLT-19 from my Hasbro E-11 Blaster. I still have afew troops to do this weekend and one more next weekend; nothing going on until July 3rd and the 3rd week of July. Plenty of time. Mostly I have just been working on the barrel itself, I won't attach the barrel to the Blaster until after this weekend's events. Instead of using the PVC 1' as you mentioned, I opted to use a vacuum cleaner extention rod as the barrel! The length and width I felt were perfect for the barrel, and look proportionally right with the Blaster. The PVC I felt was abit 'skinny'. I was able to force the coupling (no thread) to the center of the barrel-wand to the center. I then used the coupling (with thread) at the end of the wand and applied Epoxy/Hardening on the inside as well as the mothwash cap. All that remains now is the buttstock, duopod, drilling of holes for the barrell, and painting. I'm going to have to remove the Doopydoos scope and the undercarriage folding stock. I will probably add the scope to my real Sterling/ Blaster (because real scopes are freaking expensive!) or add it to the Sniper Rifle I'll be building for my Scout Trooper buddy. The buttstock I'm alittle confused to go with the Shout bottle or this Lemon Pledge spray bottle. The Shout spray bottle is the one you mentioned, but looks abit small compared to the weapon; where as the Pledge bottle is abit bigger but does look like a rife buttstock. (Well, this 'weapon' isnt exactly going to be an exact replica!) But I'm excited to get this done! This will make me look just alittle more bad an impolite person as a Heavy Weapons Trooper insted of carrying the standard Blaster!
  9. As a Marine Veteran who spent some time 'in the sandbox' and other humid places, we didn't just use canteens. For a more affordable route, and practical, for our Stormtrooper armor; I would suggest using a 'camelback'; a water storage pack. Fill the reservoir with ice, then cold water. The pack will keep it cool because it's insulated, and will feel cool against your back under the IIO backplate. Make sure that there is a connector straps with butterfly clip for your main straps, which will synch in closer to your chest under your front plate and hides itself from the outside. I do this with my HWT PACK, which I attached a pack frame to it.
  10. Before you think about going to Sandtrooper, you should consider Heavy Weapons Trooper. We wear the same armor components as the TK. The main differences is that you don't have to change the sniper knee plate and the ab button plate. Our combat packs are easier to build and cheaper than Sandtrooper. And you don't have to make your armor appear dirty and sandy. You spent money on the costume, why make it look dirty? Make sure you research first next time! Your GML in your state Garrison should have sent you an email for contacting them for questions. If you're interested in becoming a HWT, contact Ukswrath; he helped me with guidance on my pack and I got accepted
  11. After my initial acceptance after submitting my photos for HWT, I had my first troop last week as a Heavy Weapons Trooper. Had to update the HWT Pack because my first troop as HWT, the straps kept slipping sideways and was just hanging on barely. I've added a pack frame from my Alice combat pack (I served in Marines from 1998 to 2007), and added my leather Holster (industrial strength velcro) to the side so I wouldn't carry my E-11 Blaster in the school, but still have it with me. The pack is abit heavier, but looks badass! And it's so much easier to wear, move around, and take off!
  12. I've always thought that the spray wouldn't be strong enough because it's in liquid form. I've always 'stuck' with the tube, as it is more liquid-gel.
  13. You're going to want to contact Ukswrath. He helped me with my pack build. Your pack doesn't have to be exact as his or the one that is shown. But similar to the game. You can get all the components for less than $60 or so.
  14. You've got better organization than when I first started! And I just wanted to say, "Everything is awesome!"
  15. There are quite afew vendors out there specifically for our armor. For your Detanator Clips, I went with Evilboy. As for your fans in your helmet, there are two wonderful vendors that you could go with; Echo and Evilboy. Both of their fans range between $45-60. For your aerators and lens, I went with Trooperbay (I also got my leather MP40 magazine pouches from Trooperbay as I have transitioned to Heavy Weapons Trooper). Your boots, I recommend going with TKBoots.
  16. It looks as though their pack is smaller than the standard HWT and Sandtrooper combat packs. And at least there isn't any changes in the actual Stormtrooper costume. The belt, at least according to the pictures, looks like it's vinyl and not the standard heavy nylon (which kinda wouldn't make sense to have in space). The breathing/oxygen tube from the pack to the helmet could possibly be used with a vacuum hose when building this pack.
  17. Well done, looks great. This actually inspires me to maybe work on my armor, now not only am I a TK, but a recently approved HWT.
  18. I think I recall the Orange as Officer, white for SNCO, Black for enlisted. At least according to the MEPD source or somewhere else on FISD. Anyways, I purchased a Black leather Pauldron because I loved the look of Tarkin's personal squad of Stormtroopers. Then I decided to transition to Heavy Weapons Trooper
  19. Everything looks amazing, job well done! I'm in the process of converting to the HWT soon. I'm currently working on the pack as well. What I need guidance on is attaching the straps to the pack. Are there any pics on how to do that?
  20. I'm probably in the percentage that's not too thrilled with the new trooper look. I completely understand that armor has to evolve for the new order. I'm not even old fashioned. I'm actually not a fan of the new look
  21. Looks great. I'll be following the poor man's tutorial by the letter. Or close to it. I went to Lowe's today and got all the components. Even found a oil drip pan at Wal-Mart to start the process of the HWT Pack
  22. Greetings from OH! I'm currently a TK (as of October 2014)(and recently became the Events Coordinator for Northwest OH!) at the minimum regs. I already have my MP40 magazine pouches and pauldron (black). I purchased a 16gal oil drip pan I found at Wal-Mart for $10! But it has a handle on upper left side and a cap on the upper right side. Where can I find the HWT Pack under a budget? Looking for the boxes and parts.
  23. Very nice build! I plan on using your tutorial for my convertion as well; planning on converting to the HWT soon.
