Received my helmet harness, dark green visor, and mesh for the frown from Trooperbay! Now I'm just waiting on AP for my TK package!

OH Garrison member ObiWanJay will be assisting me with my build. I also purchased dark green lens, frown mesh, and helmet harness from Trooperbay.

There's an Imperial or Stormtrooper ranking chart somewhere floating around on this site. I'm going to go for the rank of Corporal, because that was my rank when I was Active Duty Marines. Your Right eye (left facing) looks like its not trimmed aligned, like there's a curve. Overall, good job with the painting! Don't think I have the patience to do that detail!

I'm in the OH Garrison (Cleveland area). I'm sending my final payment to AP (had to pay via payment plan. Couldn't just purchase in one sitting) this coming Monday. I already have my boots (TK Boots), shirt/pants underarmor, decals (ear pinstripe and abdomen...but will probably use paint), and Blaster (Hasbro)( I have a 2nd back-up Kenner) with attachments from doopy doos; still needs painting. My TK from AP will be coming trimmed with Leather Holster and gloves. I'll have to get the frown screen and darker eye lens and maybe rivets/buttons from Trooperbay. If there's anything I'm missing I need to get from Trooperbay (once their site is back up), please let me know. I'll be getting my helmet harness from a hard hat from Lowe's/Home Depot (maybe chemical gloves too?) that I saw the video on Trooperbay's site. And the industrial Velcro from Walmart.

I'll be doing Trooperbay's idea with headstrap. Purchasing a cheap hard hat and dremel out the clips that hold the strapping/headstrap and hot glue them inside the dome. But I like the idea of your glasses/lens. I may try affixing them to the actual back of the eyelets, but I'm not too sure now, because as you get older, so does your prescription. Maybe I'll keep the lens in the frames and remove the pieces that go to your ears and just duct tape them (white). The thought of going to my local Harley Davidson and checking out helmets, to see what kind of cushion to use is a thought

I'm about to finish my balance with AP. I couldn't do one payment like others have. He was very accommodating in receiving payments when I can via US Money Orders. I ordered my TK to be trimmed and to come with gloves and leather holster. I believe I may have to order different eyelets (which I'll get from Trooperbay) for the helmet because AP is light green.

If someone could figure this out for the helmets, that would be awesome. In the Marine Corps (I'm a Veteran) when you have your rife and and officer is present; you would bring it forward in front of you holding it vertically. You would salute your rifle with your right hand perpendicular with the center of the rifle. Then go back to 'port arms'.

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to stick with the helmet decals, that's for sure. The frown, vocador, and ears look simple enough. The ear pinstripe which I have from trooperbay will be used specifically because I don't have the steady hands for that detail. I suppose I might as well paint the abdomen plate. Was just wondering if it would be against me to use decals over paint.

This topic is abit old but I wanted to know out of curiosity. In order to be accepted into the 501st are decals on the abdomen plate allowable? My helmet will have decals, except for the ear pinstripe, vocoder, ears and frown. I don't mind painting, but I'm no artist. I already purchased the abdomen and ear pinstripe decals from trooperbay. I don't want to find out I'll get denied because of decals on abdomen.

I'm in the same boat with you; you're ahead of me financial wise with purchasing your suit. I'm still in the saving money process, but getting closer and should be able to pay my complete balance off by June and should have it in August. But then comes trimming, possible sanding, fitting and adjusting. If you went with AP like I have, I went with the 'whole package'. I included the Blaster Holster and gloves/ helmet and the trimming. I got my under suit (nylon/polyester mix) pants/shirt from Walmart. TK Boots were out of my size, but he gave me a contact in CA who needed a size 8 and I needed a size 9; which I bought from that guy (and made a FB friend!). My Blaster I got from Amazon and mods from doopy doos. For the abdomen buttons (decals) ear detail, neck seal, and garment belt I went to Trooperbay. Then comes the waiting game to be accepted and start trooping.
