  1. Thank you all for your great support and i am delighted!! I will get to work on all the recommended changes and take further pictures when complete. My shims may be the hardest but i will do some detailed research on how others did theirs to ensure i make a good job. Happy trooping to all for 2015
  2. Thank you all again for your great advice. For my shoulder bells unfortunately difficult to bring in much more because of my rather stocky build (too much weight lifting in my younger years has given me rather big chest, shoulders and arms for my height). I agree i may be more hasbro stormtrooper shape rather than 77 build lol. Maybe would make a good dwarf for a hobbit costume I will nevertheless try to readjust my strapping again as per advice and will work on the left calf closing at the bottom (I have two hook and eye closures fitted but higher up the calf)
  3. Many thanks all for your kind remarks and i think i just suited up in a rush. lol Have been trooping in this for about a year and a half (about 25 events) so i have readjusted the strapping many times.

  6. Thanks for the advice and i was looking at the DVH kits but was concerned at construction time. You can guess the hours here in Tokyo (am secretly sending this from work presently). I wonder how long it would take to build if i could only devote 1 hr a week? I will drop him a PM and see if its workable. Many thanks
  7. Dear Vern, Given your expertise i am sure you already know but:- The ultimate stormtrooper MK3 was available at DoopyDoos at http://www.doopydoos.com/ultimate-stormtrooper-anh-e-11-blaster-mk3-1742-p.asp The hyperfirm from Sci-fire at --------- Both look great and while i am tied up with work would require minimal or no modification/construction time, so just perfect. I hope to make a kit taking great care and time for the future but for more immediate trooping i really need a good quality finished product. (sadly proving difficult) Any advice is very much appreciated. thx
  8. Dear Heidi, They look really great and looks excellent craftsmanship for wood. I will certainly revisit this once i get my E-11 issue resolved, which at present is first priority. I will likely pop back to the Uk in May for vacation and for shipping may be best to PM you closer to that time. Many thanks
  9. Hi All, I am looking for some good advice about securing an E-11 here in Japan. I have tried contacting the usual routes of DoopyDoos and Scifire to see if they have any a)stock and ability to send to Japan but without reply. I know the vast majority of troopers build kits and i am also in process of my doopyDos conversion for my Hasbro, but this is a temporary fix. It took me just over a year to build my TK due to work related time constraints, so ideally i dont want to buy a kit (yet). That leaves the ultimate stormtrooper MK3 and the tougher cousins Firmware as ready made but good quality blasters neither of which i can find in stock or for sale. Personally i like the MK3 as it looks great due to level of detail albiet not as resilient, so if anyone out there has one for sale at any time, please do give me a shout. I am also interested in the DLT-19 if any come on market as well. Over time i hope to build and buy a collection of them but need to start trooping soon and so time is a major concern at this point. Kind advice is much appreciated
  10. Hi Jens, Wow, looks fantastic, great job. Am just about to start my TM build this weekend and i hope my build looks half as good as yours when its done. Thanks also for the great pics as it will help me immensely with my own build
  11. Thanks John, Hope they have some armour parties in Tokyo and in English (my Japanese still a work in progress) I know its a labour of love, just dont want to let the side down with a terrible suit
  12. Dear Mathias, Thank you for your advice and the more i read on this forum, the more people recommend Troopermaster TM. I will likely have to get more advice from the 501st Japan Legion (as i am based in Tokyo presently). I want to start off in the best possible way so the more info i can get the better.
  13. While i understand from reading all the threads that commercial suits are usually less tailored and authentic than kit made versions, is it not possible to get a commercial one and modify it to your measurements and requirements? Sorry for dwelling on this point but my crafting skills are 1 out of 10 and so would prefer to spend big on the closest possible thing and then modify with my minor abilities to make it suitable. As such i have been looking at SDS as they seem the most authentic for ANH out of the constructed suits available and being 5.10 and 180lbs should be more or less the same size as the original actors. What i dont want to do is spend $3,000 on a suit and be unable to tailor it to a standard acceptable to the 501st. Equally buying a $750 kit and hacking it to peices with my amature skills would be a waste of money and probably lose a few fingers in the process or glue myself together. If anyone has been able to make a sds work, please do let me know as i try to figure out a workable solution Thanks!
