  1. No, most definitely not. Proportions are wrong, the ears are wrong and more important the helmet itself is made from three pieces instead of two. It's a scam.
  2. There are four differences in the helmet, that distinguish a hero from a stunt helmet. The hero helmet has three holes between the teeth, bubble lenses, three bumps and two screws on the ear Piece. The stunt helmet has four holes, flat lenses, four bumps and three screws. As far as I know (somebody please prove me wrong) ATA supplies only the parts for a stunt helmet (the two pair of ears being identical), so you are already set with you decision ... And, yes, a hero helmet with flat lenses will not be approved.
  3. As far as I know DDay is located in germany, so that is not too far away from UK and might be another alternative ... On the other hand DoopyDoos is worth the wait.
  4. TK 42690 kindly requesting 501st access. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=20012&costumeID=125
  5. I am living in germany and I'm looking forward to trooping on december 18th. Paris is not too far away and just this morning it was on the news that suspects have been arrested. These suspects wanted to bring explosives to a city called dortmund to build bombs for terroristic acts in and around the rhine-ruhr area. Dortmund is my neighbour-town, only a few miles away. So the terror is at my doorstep now. My wife doesn't want me to troop in any case now, but especially on the 18th. Where will be the most people in one place on that day? What will be the most symbolic and iconic target of western culture than disney AND star wars combined? Will I troop anyway? Yes, because this is my way of showing a huge middle finger to those fanatics who try to impose their way of life onto me. Will I leave my blaster at home? You bet! This has nothing to with bending my knee for terrorists, but with common sense. I make a pretty impressive stormtrooper anyway, even without blaster. (I like to keep it holstered anyway most of the time.) Has anybody seen the clips in the news of the french people mourning the dead at the place of the attack the day after? There was a muffled bang from a broken heater in the background and all of a sudden 200 something people fled the scene in sheer terror. Mind you, nothing happened, really. Still there was a stampede of frightened people. Now imagine a cinema with long queues of attendees waiting. Security, perhaps even police in the bigger cities. There's a noise, people duck and you will be the one standing in the middle wielding something that very closely resembles a weapon. Do I really have to go on? Disney/LFL asked us KINDLY to apply some common sense and leave our blasters at home. Under these circumstances it is the most idiotic, childish and dumb thing to sign a competion for carrying blasters in the public. Grow up.

    Lil bugger!

this is awesome! Painted it yourself?
  7. Hey Christian, pic's not working ... Try a photobucket account and copy the url in your post. Works guaranteed.
  8. Yes, nice work Germain. Your nickname doesn't come from nothing ...
  9. Well, actually, they look pretty decent and I don't think the faux leather really be hindrance. But ... First of all they are not high enough. They will slip out of your shins continuously. Second, the faux leather being not of the shiny sort will make it difficult to get a shiny white finish with the leather dye. My two cents.
  10. A fan works miracles. Just feeling a steady airflow was enough for me to be comfortable again. Had the same problem with heavy breathing ...
  11. I have to confess that I just don't like the ROTJ armor (sorry), but you are wearing it well and you look really good! Well done! You are going to make your garrison proud! Kudos to Paul for another set of staggering armor!
  12. Harharhar! (insert maniac grin here) Good to know, harhar! Opens up a few possibilities ...
  13. 5 foot 7 is completely okay. You could always work on a Luke Ensemble. Has been done before. Take a look at the grown up trooper in Troopermasters photo. See the relation between breastplate and Abs?
  14. Troopermaster has three differently sized armors made for his son. When you see them on photos without any grown up Trooper next to them you are not able to guess the difference ...
  15. good morning, then ... yes, please do so, because i have nobody else to ask (sounds weird, come to think of that). That was my Impression, too, and i think i will spend the Money to verify our assumption.
  16. interestingly enough, i was thinking of a similar Setup for the bucket. Because i'd like to get rid of the cable Connection between mic and aker, i was looking into Bluetooth Transmitters, too. There are Bluetooth Gadgets out there, that work as Sender AND Receiver. But, because i don't know anything about Bluetooth, I wondered if it is even technically possible to transmit Sound from mic to Receiver without a phone inbetween? So sorry for hijacking your thread, but can you answer my question? Is it possible?
  17. the wording in your first sentence implies that you are looking for a cast or a copy of the existing anovos armor. try to avoid that, because this leads to Long and fruitless discussions about recasting. As far as i know several People started to work on TFA armor on their own, but only one finished it. If i understood correctly, he did it in fibreglass and only for himself and is not selling copies. But here on FISD are at least two People selling fabulous slushcast helmets, that generally are said to be superior to the anovos buckets. Another member is selling the TFA blaster. That was the Long answer. Here is the short one: You either hurry up becoming a 501st member and get the privilege to order from Anovos now (and you won't receive your kit in time for the premiere of the TFA) or you wait until Anovos is publically selling their kits. These are your best Options right know. I know of one person selling selfmade TFA armor over etsy and the bay, but it Looks disproportioned and horrible. Don't go that route!
  18. Don't loose the Pins, you want to use them on the DD kit.
  19. hey mark, can you go into Detail about the Disney Agreement you mentioned? Never heard of that, but curious.
  20. Well, I guess I know what Tim is talking about. I had my first troop last Sunday. It was at a small local Star wars Exhibition, mainly for children. I took my daughters with me (13 and 14), both in full padawan garb. Turned out, I was the only TK there, together with a royal guard and a splendid Vader. It took us around two hours to get inside the Exhibition (it was not crowded) because Vader and I were glued to the spot while posing for Pictures. It was extremely enjoyable for me, but what was planned as a Father/daughter afternoon, turned out to be something unexpected. So, to come back to what Tim said, me showing off my TK took away most of the fun for my daughters. I didn't Need my wife to tell me off. Won't happen again ...
  21. starsaber25 mistook your white elastics you used for pulling together the Torso parts for shins. The Trouble you might have is that they are supposed to be black, not White. Also, the rivets are missing, but I don't know if it is mandatory for EIB ...
