  1. But they still have the conversion kit: http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-sub-assault-electrobinocular-conversion-kit-1435-p.asp
  2. What about building ityourself? Doopydoos are offering an add-on kit and, as far as I know, acomplete replica ...
  3. The keyboard in the background only has one drawback: it only plays the imperial march ...
  4. The super trooper photo had me cracking up immediately! The sand pit, too! Thanks for sharing, this is what I like to see the first thing after opening the FISD site in the mornings.
  5. Congratulations Sarah! You've got some beautiful armor there. TM is one of the finest and your buildup will be a breeze! I see you have ordered TMs strapping kit, too, but you are going the snapplate route, don't you?
  6. Hey woodtick, At least the stormtrooper costumes you see in the pictures above are privately owned, screen accurate costumes worn by members of the 501st. They should not be compared to the disney suits that are worn by disney cast members on the streets in the park and in the shows. The disney suits are made for comfort and moveability, a luxury we don't have. The downside is that they are not screen accurate and don't look too good when you are near them. There is a thread somewhere, where the suits are discussed in detail. Disney holds Star Wars weekends and invites members of the 501st and the Rebels to take part in the parades thgrough the park.
  7. The hooks won't come off under any circumstance, because not only does the shin tend to expand outwards so that the elastics are under constant pull, but they are also clamped between the two shin halves and are thereby kept in place. The plastic itself is also sturdy enough so that the holes won't tear or rip. This method of closing your shins is in my eyes preferable, because the shins are not "clamped" to your leg, like they can be with velcro closures, but are able to "breathe", meaning, they are able to expand if it becomes necessary while walking. Another plus: it is screen accurate. Take a look at the "replica section". There is a thread called"What we know about strapping". I think you'll find all the details there.
  8. Or take a look at troopermasters thread in this very forum: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19340-tms-anh-hero-buildtm/page-2 You'll also learn a lot about strapping your kit ...
  9. Actually no one doubted that part about the chelseas. The original brand is well known. Take a look here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/20-boots-original-brand/ Jodhpurs are accepted and widely used as a cheaper alternative and because the visible part is almost the same ... If you want to go the full mile, these boots are still available and are nearly identic to the originals: http://www.loake.co.uk/290.html
  10. Speechless! Thank you for sharing.
  11. First of all, it doesn't include a helmet ... It looks like the british made stuff from stormtrooper-costumes.com, which is frowned upon due to the inaccuracies. Ab-plate and butt-plate are divided up into four pieces, which is highly inaccurate. For that amount of money, you can get far better armor from ourvetted sellers ... Don't.
  12. The property master? How cool is that? Praise from the highest point!
  13. Oh, you can rip the elastics off, after you glued them with Cosmofen ... It will just take more effort. :-)
  14. Okay, if bigkilo was really talking about the trooper in the pictures above (also known as crocoboxer wife), I honestly can't see anything of what bigkilo criticized ... On the other hand, there WERE troopers at celebration who obviously didn't have had enough time to finetune the costume to their body shape. This one in the photos above is NOT one of them. Your wife looks great in her armor!

Aw, come on, Simon Pegg is an old blabbermouth and always good for a corny joke. Wouldn't someone like Craig draw too much attention away from the story, if he would appear in a cameo?
  16. Dear fellow troopers, I am seriously considering building a highly detailed 3d model of the TFA Blaster and have it 3D printed. I was able to collect a rather comprehensive amount of reference pictures, but I am lacking pictures from the underside, from the front and a decent close up of the aurebesh sticker at the tip of the rifle. (Everything I made out so far only translates to senseless gibberish consisting of semicolons, commas, exclamation marks and brackets) Can anybody help out? Also, did anybody (alpha 75s I am talking to you (-: ),had a chance to handle the Anovos Blaster at celebration? I'd like to know some educated guesses about the thickness of the grip ... 2,8 cm like the sterling? Thank you in advance!
  17. I know something even better: COSMOFEN PLUS, the company is called WEISS This is PVC glue that is used for glueing the plastic frames for triple glassed windows, doors, etc. I used it for my build exclusively and it behaved 100 percent like stelmax insofar as it is white and melts the plastic, if you use too much. You can speed through yourbuild, because if you glue something you have to press it together for like ten minutes and you are good to go and can move on to the next part. No 24 hours waiting time ... Google it and compare prices. The prices range from 2,50 euros to 14,-euros. A big tube is enough for 10 armors.
  18. Short intermission: Germain, do we know anything about the scopes on the new rifles?
  19. Do we have any info on the scope? Looks like a found part, like the ATI stock for the captain Phasma rifle ...
  20. Nobody commented on this one? This is freaking awesome. Can't wait to see more!
