Err, no, it is supposed to look like this:

Regarding the trimming line on your chest plate, why don't you draw it on the inside? You could cut some kind of block from abs that is exactly 12 mm and together with a pen slide along the inside of the chest plate. You will end up with band, that is constantly 12 mm thick.

Your tip about "Sonax Reifen Pflege" is very good! I was also not satisfied with the"blackness" of the gloves ... Very nice work so far! I know that "idealized" is frowned upon, but I like the armor to look as good as possible and the original handplates just don't do the job, sorry ... But I have a question about the "fingerprints" and lines on the gloves: I thought the gloves are supposed to be completely smooth? Smooth gloves are still available without much hassle ...

Why not ask Troopermaster for a set of bubble lenses? Although they are rather thick, too, once you have installed them, you will be pleasantly surprised ... Oh, and by the way: very nice paint job!

Well, the ear is supposed to situnder the rubber trim. It is a close fit, but also helps to fit the ear more snugly to the helmet. Also it looks like you used the wrong rubber trim ... It should be the thicker, rounded s-trim, but looks like the trim you normally use for the brow. Seems also to be too short. It goes along the whole circumference of the helmet opening normally ...

Well, it looks as if your thighs are waaaay to wide at your knees. Is there any chance of making them smaller? Admit it, you are a skinny guy ... -

Looking splendid! Good luck! -
Well, concerning the wetsuit, it is hard to see if there is a color difference on the arm ... The logo at the hand shouldn't be a problem, because it will be covered by the armor and your gloves. I have a completely different problem with that suit: how are you going to go to the toilet?

My 2mm TM Hero helmet build 8/2014
Bone replied to DarSec's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Honestly, it looks like you still have plenty of material left ... -
I think it is different with a 2mm TM Helmet compared to the 1.5mm. I tried out hotglue on a spare cap'n'back in 1.5mm and it melted the plastic, okay, it didn't melt, but it made the plastic soft and formable. Although I trust DDay with his expertise, I would test your hotglue first, perhaps at the inside of the ears on the cap'n'back.

Okay, I can chime in, because I did the exact thing just yesterday with a TM in 1.5mm. First of all, if you cut out the eyes in the faceplate, the lenses already have a rather decent fit. In my opinion, you can't have any return edge on the eyes, because the lenses wouldn't find correctly. You can trim the openings a bit more to your liking and make the fitting even better. The worst part will be the lower portion on the outsides, as there the bubble is the most pronounced. Honestly, I wouldn't try to form the bubble lenses with anything, because they are already made to fit. (And besides, the material is so sturdy with it being 3 mm thick, I doubt that hot water will change anything formwise ...) By now you have the faceplate (87ninefiveone is right, do that before assembling the helmet!) and two separate bubble lenses with no flat surface to glue anything. Here is what I did: in germany we have two-part-epoxy that acts as if it is some kind of dough and will get stone hard in ten minutes. I am sure you will get this stuff in any home depot, it was made for plumbing and will even cure underwater. You knead the two components together 1:1 and get a small ball of elastic putty that sticks like hell to any surface. Put in the lens and put small balls of that putty around the lens. It will stick to faceplate and lens and thus creates the surfaces to glue. If you press the pieces together you can even close minor gaps between faceplate and lens by sheer pressure. Now you can loosen your grip (even if the dough is not cured yet) and the epoxy will stick to the lens like crazy. Let it cure and now you have a lens that is even more fitting to the faceplate with more than enough surface to apply some glue and stick the lens to the faceplate. Here is a photo, I hope that helps ... -----------

Could it be that the forehead of the faceplate is not resting completely against the inside of the cap? When i held together the two parts of Pauls helmet (1.5 mm), I also had the impression, that nothing would fit and especially that there was not enough material at the sides ... But after I clamped them together and made sure that the faceplate is not curving upwards (like with your helmet) but but that the Profile of the faceplate was much more vertical, it suddenly all fit together. (much more like a flatnosed Voldemort face ...) Compare Pauls photos of the profile with yours. You will see that his helmet is really vertical in the back and only slightly at an angle in the faceplate, whereas your helmet has a much more pronounced angle in the faceplate. Does anybody understand what I am talking about? -
It might be also an interesting point to think about some copyright issues ... As far as we know Lucas sold the Company to Disney under the condition, that all the cosplayers are sacrosanct. But perhaps Disney shares the view that this only holds true to the already established costumes and will bring out the big sledge hammer when it comes to producing and selling the costumes from the new episodes ... On the other hand, they didn't stomp their foot on all the marvel cosplayers ...

... and please make a lot of photos of the all the little things you learned over time. I am waiting for my 1.5 mm TM suit and knowing that all the different suits have their own nooks and crannies and surprises, I am looking for a good and detailed building thread of a TM suit. - EDIT - Just found your link collection. It seems you already did what I wished for ... -
Yes, Tim, you are completely right! That was something that occured to me rather early Absolutely no symmetry whatsoever! Thing is, I have never found a hires picture of Han's helmet to count the stripes. Until yesterday night, that is ... After digging through everything I could lay my hands on, I found out, that on Han's helmet there are 11 Stripes on his right tube and thirteen on the left one. Sorry to have hijacked this thread, back to Luke's helmet!

Hey Dean! What has happened to your Bucket-Build? It is freaking amazing so far! I have a TM hero helmet myself in 1.5 mm that I hpoe to sstart building soon. I am curious about the material of your bucket (1.5 or 2mm) and the lenses ... How are you going to attach them? Oh, and something else: does anybody know if the two hero helmets of Luke and Han had a different number of stripes on their tubes? I count thirteen on Lukes tubes, but I can't find a decent picture of Han. It is his helmet I am aiming for. On the other hand I have found a photo with two hero helmets and both had twelve stripes ... Talking about confusion ... Also, why are there so few TM build threads?
