  1. Absolutely - we should have a page for this somewhere on the site once we have a good enough list to start. Anyone want to help with the mock-up?
  2. Yeah, more pix
  3. I'm your exact size and wear TE2. I had to shim only one shin & bicep and actually had to trim away plastic from the ab/kidney. You'll be perfectly fine with either TE2 or AP. I've also worn FX. The older FX is better for talk folks - the newer suits have way too much open space in back for a tall guy IMHO. FX is the least expensive but the prices have gone up so the difference isn't as much as it used to be.
  4. Thank YOU Shelley - w/o your support this site would be harder to maintain!
  5. Whatever you buy today - it will always be superceded with something sooner or later. As a customer and costumer, at a certain point I stop caring and instead focus on the person who I'm buying it from. I'd rather buy something that's 90% accurate from a guy who I trust and like then something that is 95% accurate but who I don't like/don't trust. Because no matter who is the "best" or "most accurate" or whatever today, tomorrow it will be someone else. Yesterday we had TE, today we have TM, tomorrow is LAWS? And the day after that - flexible ABS that weighs 1oz? Who's to say...
  6. Updated Foggy!
  7. Holy smokes - great find!
  8. Acknowledged. It's a great start - keep us posted
  9. Did you try the diamond tip cutter? Also for the big pieces some guys like using either tin snips or a hot exacto knife.
  10. I was thinking about that but wasn't sure if that was a "material". Don't use them on my TK, but I sure used a boat load on my TD & pack.
  11. Heya bro - show up at my house ANYTIME I always have a backlog of projects I can never complete! Every garrison should be so fortunate to have a guy like you around For the dremel I like the diamond cutting bit - I find it works far superior to the normal cutting disks. I'd also add a mouse sander and some sand paper. I also like having a pliers for holding small pieces and a dykes for cutting of rivet heads when needed. Some would also ask to have a heat gun to reshape pieces as needed (thighs & chest seem to be the big ones).
  12. And I have to say what makes that requirement tough is that ESB is pretty much the same blaster but sans counter, so it's not really feasible to have the same blaster to double duty. Ah well, guess it's time for me to get a new blaster
  13. Check out this post on MEPD from my garrison mate Brian: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=4421
  14. ABS cement if it's ABS armor. Lots of strapping material Lots of industrial velcro Foam padding Spare ABS (or HIPS) to make snap plates with
  15. Because there are a bunch of old timers who can't be bothered to spend $.10 on screws, $3 on tube stripes, and 10 minutes cutting out a few teeth. It's called "grandfathering". And yes, they're the "backbone of the Legion".
  16. Way to go guys! Membership upgraded
  17. Yup, what I did to mine. Just trooped in it again today
  18. Or do what I did - cheat and give them to a cobbler :-p But yeah, they'll just do what SuperTrooper describes.
  19. Yes, any place that sells Jodhpur boots - you just need to dye them white. Or you can get caboots.

    My TK #

Mine is the Pareto rule, but that's why I picked it, so alas no surprises
  21. Heck, or me either. One one hand I want every TK to be welcome here. On the other, I have a hard time with people who are lazy with their costumes and have no desire for improvement of any kind, while other costumes in the 501st get better and better.
  22. The reality of the situation is that there is a minimum bar that the 501st accepts. Some people are OK with staying at a minimum bar, others do not. The 501st is home to both, which means the FISD is home to both. In other words, if you're an accuracy snob you better learn to tolerate your basic brothers as they're equal members too. And if you're just at the minimum bar, you better get used to people always wanting to be more accurate. However I do notice that people who just want to get a basic suit and move on don't spend much time on detachment boards once their suit is put together (this or any other detachment, so FISD is not unique). So while we're here to help, please forgive the membership if they always nudge folks to be more like themselves.
  23. Nice! Can't wait to see pix
