  1. There is no way these helmets will ever be 501st approved. I have yet to see a set of rubies get to the point where it could be approved. There is so much time/money and upgrades I don't see how it would be economically feasible, and you'd end up with less than you started.
  2. I hate hiding things from her - I think she wishes I had a girlfriend (or even boyfriend) on the sly instead. At a certain point it's best just to come out of the closet. If she doesn't like it - well so be it.
  3. You are among friends. At one point I had five sets of armor in my house. I even have a costume the wife doesn't know about - ssshhhh.
  4. Today is a day we should look at what we have, and remember that there are many in the world with far less. Blessings to everyone, Paul
  5. That's a smart idea Jim - you should add that as a TIP.
  6. Or, just go for hero and swap out the lenses for a longer troop. Put the bubbles back in when you can. My bubbles aren't that bad.
  7. The heel is a little high, buy they should work fine.
  8. Actually the original movie IIRC Luke was 18 and Leia was 16 or so. Remember originally they were not siblings - that idea and the data behind it came later.
  9. Any armor will work for you - it's all in how you build it out. Personally I like the suit-derived armors like TE2 & AP. TM is also outstanding, but you pay a ton on exchange unless you live in the EU.
  10. Very nice - great to see more ESB troopers
  11. For leather? No evidence, just guesswork. For canvas? TE went to the LFL archives, can't recall the other evidence though of course now it's not even in doubt. It's funny that it took so many years of plastic belts before people even thought to question it. Now of course it seems obvious in hindsight.
  12. You can get accurate mic tips from either Stomper (this board) or Keith.
  13. IIRC using leather was an idea given by Deal Plantamura on his site back in the day before we knew to use canvas. This was about 2005 or so. The first person to bring up canvas belts that I recall was TE (Matt). This was back on MEPD before FISD was created. I remember this because that's why I switched from plastic to leather on my first FX suit back in 2005 for this reason.
  14. I'd suggest putting your vox in the helmet and not in a pouch. Alternatively you can put a speaker behind your chest plate. TK's really shouldn't have side pouches anyway. I concur that the FBJ holsters have a plastic insert and carry the weight of a blaster very well. If you had a real de-act sterling you an always add additional velcro to the left side to hold that belt to the ab/kidney.
  15. Looks really good! For Elite you just need to make the changes that SuperTrooper suggested. For fit/finish, I'd like to recommend the following tweaks: 1. I'd put a little padding on the kidney plate sides and maybe do a little trimming so that the edges of it match to the edges of the ab plate. 2. For the belt a little velcro in front will help keep it positioned correctly. 3. The tube stripes look a little big. You can get some from trooperdecals, TK4510, or Scott M. that will fit your helmet a little better. It's a great suit and already look much better that most TK's in the Legion - just need a wee bit of tweaks to really make it shine.
  16. I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't begin to imagine the pain and emptiness you are feeling now, but do know that she and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
  17. You know that's a key point - I think if he'd been straight up he'd still have gotten a lot of business regardless.
  18. Yaaay!!!! Yaaay!!!! Yaaay!!!! Yaaay!!!! Yaaay!!!! I can't begin to describe how happy I am. Many men would have folded under the pressure but you sucked it up and did what you needed to provide for your family, and never gave up your faith. A pint for you bro and a
  19. No, it's just funny. SDS was sued by LFL for copyright infringement and lost. If you want a pre-built suit you can simply wait for one to go up for sale, or else buy a kit and pay someone to do the assembly. Here's one now... -----------
  20. I can't recall the name of the shop - it was near Culpeppers the Herbalist if I recall. They had a blend called Elizabethan I memory serves. Reminded me of what my grandfather used to puff when I was young. I have to say that Cambridge is one of my favorite cities and I felt quite at home there. Would love to relocate from the US if I could.
  21. I know a nice tobacco shop in Cambridge - are you offering to supply me of some good English weed?
  22. We take care of our own. Did anyone notice - the costume designations have been updated? It used to be just TK, now there is a new listing for TK: ANH Hero? I presume also ANH Stunt, ESB, and ROTJ as well.
  23. Got it! Status & Elite updated - I'll update the Elite page after lunch.,
  24. ANH - it was the first. I saw it for my 9th b-day. Still the classic. Then ESB, ROTS, AOTC. Not sure I ever care to see TPM or ROTJ ever again, except for a few select scenes.
  25. Go with the AP. The MRCE is not an exact color match for ABS armor, so you'll be two toned or have to paint anyway if that's your concern. I'm 6'0" and the AP looks good on me - no worries there.
