  1. For me it depends on the venue. Some are pretty relaxed and you can joke, etc. Others are more straight-laced and I try to keep in character and show some 'tude.
  2. Agreed. If you look at the troopers they cut out just enough black to move. The less black the better.
  3. I got some 1" stretchy strapping material from the local fabric store and did a snap system. I tried 2" straps but to me they're too wide for all but going over the shoulders.
  4. Alas, not everything ages well. Land of the Lost being another (though Speed Racer, Zoom and Schoolhouse Rock still look great ).
  5. This is much better than the one I did originally for this site 2+ years ago. Excellent job mate
  6. Oh man, this is beautiful work Tony. My HF E-11 is suffering from an inferiority complex. Probably because it will be replaced when you do yours Consider me customer #1 when you them.
  7. I believe that to be a true statement.
  8. Congrats Jez - seems it's as popular as ever and I know it was a huge help for me when I first started. Heck, it still is!
  9. The only helmet that you cannot is the current FX, or the Rubies. Or Marko.
  10. Heya Andy! Good to see you here and sounds like your on target
  11. I think it's a pass too. I'd suggest pulling the thighs up a little and the kidney plate, we wants to see that butt split a little more
  12. And no "field". Yeah, at 33 I'd go to the Air Force too.
  13. Definitely go for AP/TE2/GF.
  14. I think everyone has a branch of service that works best for them. Don't sweat the age - I do hope you like going to sea
  15. Thumbs up - it's coming along nicely
  16. I accidentally cleaned out my PM box. If you're expecting a reply from me, please shoot me a new PM and I'll get right back.
  17. Thanks for the link Fred - access to the FISD jacuzzi granted. Doug & Garth - you boys are covered and welcome to FISD Elite as well. Great job guys!
  18. Congrats Doug! I think making it on first pass just means that you did your due diligence before applying. Congrats on making 501st as well.
  19. I deleted all non-related, nflammatory posts including my own. I'm leaving Smitty's as it actually offers up information.
  20. No worries Bill. When we have 200 Elite we can look to up the standards, but even with 50 it's still a small part of the Legion. Remember always that the goal is to bump up the quality of the existing 501st standards (which sill says an out of the box FX is fine), but not be so high / detailed that it's a real PITA to get.
  21. The Elite standards don't mention it. It's a nice to have, but not a requirement. Final decision comes from Scott M. the Deployment Officer, or Terrell the DL. I think you're all sorted now. Preferably I like 1" side straps from chest to back on the bottom, but the 2" is fine and we make no mention of that either. Unless I'm missing something I can't see Elite not being granted.
  22. I like to believe it's about quality. A well done costume is well done, regardless of straight white or blue. The FU trooper is a TK with paint and is part of FISD. The hybrid trooper with a mix of clone and TK parts...not sure where that will belong : CTN, SpecOps, or here. MY BELIEF is that is should be up to the COSTUME HOLDERS to decide which detachment best suits their needs, not the LMO or the DL's.
  23. Updated! Congrats on going Elite on your first try And, being the first of the "New 50"!
  24. Way to gooooooooo!
  25. Wha? What? Do you even have a TK left?
