  1. Rock on! Yeah, once one or two take the plunge it's a nice incentive for others to up their game. Even if they don't go full Elite many at least get most of the way there, making the entire garrison look better
  2. Congratulations Dan on making Elite, and for being our 50th Elite exactly. All items are updated!
  3. All set and updated Brian - congratulations! Very nice kit you have and I totally dig the Falcon/Han setup
  4. All set and updated Timmer - congratulations!
  5. Looking great! Hopefully Scott can chime in, or Terrell in his absence as we now have three Elite apps in the queue.
  6. Another waiting on Scott.
  7. Scott should be back soon - sorry for the delay!
  8. Now THIS is how it's done. Rock on And I'm down with what Tony said - if you don't have a weapon in your hand how can you defend yourself?
  9. Looking great! Nothing new to add, just to echo the helmet details pix + that the chest mod would be a good idea sometime down the line - and you can probably trim the back plate to match as well. Good job on the thighs - seems a problem area for many on the later FX kits but yours look great.
  10. Well, the movie made in the 50's took some liberties too. Check out the wikipedia article on it and you'll see a host of stuff that just didn't happen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dam_Busters_(film)
  11. All set Tim & Doug. Doug - congrats on going 501st Let's see those Elite apps next boys ;-)
  12. Netflix. We have cheapy cable ($15/month) so get all our movies from there, including the on demand which is free
  13. Personally I'd put dyed Jodhpur's above Caboots, but that's MHO. Yeah, Mark Chengs are by far the best, but you'll have to sell a kidney to find any left.
  14. Just watched this last night and it was much better than I thought. George took more than some of the sequences - he took some dialog straight from the movie. There is a person named "Hutch", plus some of the X/Y-Wing pilot dialog such as (not 100% exact): "How many guns (flak) do you think" "Some on the surface, some on the towers" "Going in for my attack run" "Cut across to try to draw their fire" Many references to "steady, steady" And, I swear the initial runs of them dropping the bombs - the very idea that it's a pin point attack (too low and it falls short, to high and it skips over the target) is also straight from the film. The more I learn about Star Wars the more I can see how most everything in the movie is lifted from an earlier film (e.g. the droids being akin to the two bumblers from Hidden Fortress, the Seven Samurai, and now Dambusters etc.) Also the guys' wife's haircut has mini Leia buns over her ears - didja notice?
  15. NOTE: Star Wars costumes that are commercially available (e.g. Rubies) is NOT ACCEPTABLE for membership without replacement of some parts and other modifications! It is recommended that you contact your GML or the LMO before purchasing a retail costume. Also be aware that this site - http://www.stormtrooper-costumes.com/home.html - is not considered commercially available. It is run by a person selling recast parts, and at a healthy premium over what you can buy direct from vetted sources. You've been warned...
  16. NOTE: Star Wars costumes that are commercially available may not be acceptable for membership! It is recommended that you contact your GML or the LMO before purchasing a retail costume. Also note that Wanted to Buy armor threads are expressly forbidden on this forum.
  17. As a random act of kindness, I'll cede my slot to someone who doesn't have one!
  18. Very generous Dave. It's folks like you who give the Legion a good name!
  19. Wow - *much* better! Looking awesome there and I think it's ready for 501st at least once you add the holster (blaster and split butt needed for Elite). I think you did an outstanding job getting it to fit your body. Some last suggestions and all I can really see to get this 100%: 1. Shorten the drop box straps a tad 2. For the side straps that connect your chest/back, I suggest moving to 1" from 2" 3. I think a little more trimming at the bottom of the chest is needed. You can look at a screen cap of Luke in armor to see the line of the cut you need as it's more at the ends than in the middle - probably 1" I'm guessing. 4. Trim 1" off the bottom of the back plate to match the chest. It's OK for the back plate to barely overlap the kidney plate. As I said I think you just need a holster and it's already 501st ready. Again, excellent job getting that kit to fit you - that couldn't have been easy but the result is certainly worth it. Big thumbs up!!
  20. No worries Bill! I'm a proud TK/TD as well.
  21. It's a two month old thread - brought back from the dead!
  22. Helping people is what we're here for! Sorry you had to get a new belt, can't wait to call you a brother Elite
  23. To get the face out, I understand some people reverse the direction of the shop vac and blow it out. Not sure if that works for all sculpts...
  24. I want a Studio real bad even though you pay a little premium for the small size. The only downside is that the system has a mediocre video and can't stream 1080p, with no video upgrade. If the upgrade the video on the next version I'll get one for sure. Between my wife and I there are four laptops in the house (3 from work, 1 we own) and no desktops. I can't ever see having a huge hunk of metal in my life again.
