  1. I think the butt plate split is the only major item along with two rivets along the top where the holster mounts. Moving the tube stripes should be done at some point but I'm not sure if that's a blocking issue. The rest is just adjustment such as the drop box position. Otherwise I call it good to go, IMHO. Note: Scott M. is on leave so I'd like Terrell as current DL to make this call.
  2. Ah Walter - you didn't tell me you were applying! The only two things I see are the split for the butt plate which should be below the belt as noted and a detail shot of the holster mount - see to see at least two rivets. The rest is adjustment. Someday the FX chest plate mod would be a simple idea, or you may decide to swap with an AP one. And I think the drop boxes could be moved out a bit - see http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/7/...ps_anh1080p.jpg Not sure my opinion counts considering you're my GCO - may be considered a conflict of interest
  3. I'm not sure - better send to me and I'll see how it holds up to trooping. Actually - how well do you think it will hold up? It's certainly a wonderful piece
  4. All set guys - welcome to full FISD membership. Note the jacuzzi just beyond the blast doors (this is why we keep them closed).
  5. And in the upper mid-west we used to say "winter and road construction".
  6. Welcome troops! Don't forget to post intro threads so we get the pleasure to know you better.
  7. If you use a dremel, be sure to get one of the better cutting wheels.
  8. Or two! Glad you like yours - yes they're the best!
  9. I was going to suggest the same thing - make the lenses removable so you can just swap them out. Up to you though, really.
  10. Way to go. It's great to have you amongst the Elite.
  11. Yeah, normal for me as been about $300 up to $400 for a very well done clone.
  12. Then you got a fantastic bargain if for $200 you got it trimmed and assembled, including strapping.
  13. Thumbs up from me too. Just need official word from Scott M. unless Terrell wants to make the call right here and be done with it. Paul
  14. MEPD focuses solely on canon ANH sandtroopers (though they do include SE) and not EU at all. This is an ROTJ TK with: 1) Different boot covers 2) Clone knees 3) Shoulder bell cover (killer that, eh?) 4) Very specific hip pouches 5) Chest box with hoses that connect to the helmet 6) Right shin ammo clip 7) Left gauntlet tube 8) A Marmit-like TD pack The helmet is really the big difference and something that is other than a swap/accessory. Those tubes require a new mold for the face at least with different ears. Normally this is enough of a difference that it would go to SpecOps, but since the rest of the armor is the same...I'd really it rather go to a vote of the membership to be honest if FISD/SpecOps can't agree. I really disagree that it would be the LMO who decides via fiat.
  15. That's a great looking set of armor you have there. Personally I'd suggest getting flat green lenses rather than filling in the teeth, else you'll be tempted to remove one screw per ear for true hero effect. Flat green lenses could be just a double sheet of green acetate and someone may have some spare floating around. My only suggestions are regarding fit. I'd suggest running a strap to the butt plate that wraps around your front to keep the sides closer in - I say this as I have the same problem and that's how I solved it though I guess some would just break out the heat gun. The back looks a little off-kilter in the rear pix. You may want to try running a black 1" strap from the chest to the back to keep them in place (again, this is just what I used).
  16. Very nice! We'll have to check with SpecOps to see if they will own this, or if there is enough similarity that we can support it here.
  17. Yes, all pictures should be with the costume on you.
  18. Is he just trimming or doing some of the assembly? The only hard parts for me at least are the legs and arms, which is why I pay someone else to to them. Otherwise it's the same as a normal kit.
  19. Paint away, I say. Realize that *every* clone out there is painted, as is every suit of TE2 armor. Yes, painted armor will scuff but so will straight ABS. You should have seen the pix of my FX before I sold it - gouges I tell ya! At least if it's painted you can always touch up easily. Mike A. painted my TE2 TD and it's so far been pretty resistant to scuffing, except for the butt/kidney where the pack rubs it constantly. That, and I'm not especially gentle with my kit. Mike did put a lot of layers on and allowed them time to cure, so I suspect it's the technique more than anything.
  20. His reputation is sterling, so I'd not worry. I can say that trimming does take a lot of time. A little patience should be rewarded I'd think. I once had to wait 3 months for a clone suit, and that was untrimmed.
  21. Looks really nice Bill. Makes mine look sad, very sad. Methinks I need to take some drastic measures (e.g. get in trouble budget wise with the spouse).
  22. Both. A lot has to do with shape. For instance my FX shins fit me perfectly. The TE2 while the same length and all just didn't quite, so I have some RT's. I think with a heat gun I could have made them work. On the other hand a guy who is bigger and taller than I am - guess what? The TE2 shins fit him better than his FX's. Nutty, huh? If you look at comparison shot on people you can see how the form can make them look bigger or smaller. Most especially on the thigh is the shape of the contours on the top, e.g. the angle/curve they are cut.
