  1. Congrats - status updated!
  2. Some other comments were raised on the 501st boards - let's see if the new LMO makes those updates.
  3. As Terrell was doing all the photoshop work and I was updating people's profiles, I've done away with the Deployment Officer position for now until we really have a need and the other staff positions are filled. While of course I can make these calls myself anytime, I like that someone other than the DL does this to remove any shadow of favoritism or abuse of power.
  4. I think it will be desired for a bunch of us. I'm a "Ford man" at heart too.
  5. Welcome back Jeremy - will be great to see your progress
  6. Not sure as I never tried it, but I did get a C6 EPII clone bucket to fit in one.
  7. No worries Mark - it's hard to keep up on everything. We (FISD) should do a better job of ensuring this info is more readily available.
  8. That's what I have too for all my buckets. I once found them on sale a little cheaper, but not always. You can't beat the price, and any seamstress can sew on whatever patches you want for a few bucks. Most also do machine embroidery.
  9. Actually this is not true. An out of the box MRCE is not 501st acceptable and never was. The UKG pioneered a set of changes to make them as such and this was adopted by the LMO as policy. You need to add ear screws, replace the lenses, fill the chin gap (most use white silicone), and clean up the teeth if needed. Yes, this actually does make the requirements for MRCE tighter than an FX, but that's what's written in to policy.
  10. Me too - I'll give the web team a ding.
  11. It's here: ----------- It is not everything we submitted but it's really good I think. It doesn't specify whether it's OK to mix or match, but at least the correct movie specific details are called out. While I would have preferred the no mix/match specification at least in the "should have", I think it is far better than the standard it replaces and I give credit to Mark/LC for not watering it down as many would have liked it to be. This is a great day for TK's - we *finally* have a published standard. Like it, hate it, or not care - we have something official. Let the discussion begin!
  12. Pretty much what I have too. Got mine from Barnstormers in the UK and they work a treat.
  13. I think you got it all. For the butt shot it's preferred to see the armor with the belt on as the split has to be visible that way, and it's hard to tell in the full size shot. Otherwise just some possible nits like the length of the straps on the belt boxes, but nothing that would prevent a pass. I'm also betting Ole wouldn't let you submit pix unless he was 100% sure it would be a pass too ;-) Great to see more ESB troopers - it's a great variation! Terrell - what do you think?
  14. Wow - people here sure have good eyes. What about the ears?
  15. It would depend on the end result. Would take a lot of work - may not be worth it compared to buying a new pair of correct boots for a few dollars more.
  16. I'd like to message that being on a staff position for a detachment this size is a marathon and not a sprint. The reality is that this is a volunteer club and we all have real lives, so it's not like being COG or LCO for the Legion. Remember our goal is to have fun after all But the reality is that there is work to do and it does require a commitment for a forum of this size, esp. us being as big as some garrisons. I'm not trying to scare anyone away - I like to think we have a good time - but I do want people to understand what they are getting in to and not take it lightly.
  17. FISD has seen significant growth since its inception and I feel the need to re-define the structure of the command team. Below are the staff positions I’ll be looking to fill for this coming year. If anyone is interested in being part of the FISD team I’d love to hear from you. As one might imagine I’d like to fill these sooner than later, so don’t delay – apply today! --------------- Open Positions Merchandise Officer Is responsible for the planning, strategy and execution of all merchandise runs for the detachment. This includes owning the strategic plan for the year on what items will be introduced when to ensure there are no peaks and valleys and that each item isn’t overly competing with another. They will own the process of taking an item from concept, development, MBO approval, through sourcing, and execution. They will ensure that all merch runs comply with 501st and detachment guidelines, and enhance the FISD brand. Morale Officer This role has been alternatively called Caption of the Guard or Sergeant at Arms. I’m re-defining this role to include not only policing the boards to ensure that all threads comply with our code of conduct (which all Staff members should do), but also have primary responsibility for ensuring this forum stays a lively and fun place to hang out. This includes creating and owning any recognition programs, off the wall threads, or any other activity that will enhance stormtrooper esprit de corp both at the detachment and Legion level. Communications Officer The largest project I’m rolling out this year is a content site similar to <a href="http://www.jrsdetachment501st.org/academy.html" target="_blank">http://www.jrsdetachment501st.org/academy.html</a> but with more detail. For each area we’ll have links to the best of the best in tutorials and how-to’s, as well as WTB information for common items like ab plate buttons. This person will need be able to own the success of this project. They will need to contribute also in at least two of three areas: graphics, content writing/organization, site design, and getting the pages coded. They will be free to enlist supplemental staff for some of the other areas as this is really too big of a job for one person to do. Part of this job will include reaching out to the Legion by posting links to FISD threads on the Legion boards when questions are asked and the answer is already posted here, instead of simply answering them (this is actually something all staff should do, but will be owned by the Comm Officer). I’ll also be asking this person to own at least on a conceptual level any PR and outreach efforts the detachment could do. Obviously having a content site is a major outreach project in itself, but there may be more ideas we can leverage such as fliers, trading cards, etc. Armor Chief The detachment armor chief’s primary responsibility is for creating and editing technical content for the academy site as well as tutorials on the boards. Rather than responding to the same PM question repeatedly, I’ll create a section on the board for the Armor Chief to post top flight tutorials. This will ensure that prime content doesn’t get lost in the sub-forums as some tips/tricks often do.
  18. As opposed to having it all off? ;-)
  19. Way to go Phil - always great to see a new TK approved! You can request Elite by creating a thread in the forum at http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showforum=19 Remember that we need bucket on/off shots plus detailed shots showing all the requirements. We want to see the armor on you, not off your body btw (else who's to say who's armor it is?). Remember also to let the new guy through the blast doors first.
  20. Woo-hoo - all set and profile updated. Congrats trooper
  21. Welcome! Great to see you here and the boarding party for that pesky blockade runner is forming up on deck J. Now that you have your TKID you should head on down for your baptism of fire Elite next? Can't wait to see. Pints on me should you survive the raid, else NCO's have first dibs on the gear. ;-)
  22. Pix? You got my attention now brother
