  1. Which Peter? Also, are you guys thinking that perhaps we should issue a bunch for the month of July for past achievements? Seems we could have about 10 to hand out.
  2. It sounds like perhaps we should break it in two - service awards and achievement awards? My initial intent was for a one time act that really contributed to the detachment, but some of the ideas are more for sustained contributions on a lower level. Either way, these are great nominations guys!
  3. #1 Yes #2 What would be the specific achievement? For instance, creating the killer X tutorial or helping out a trooper in need above and beyond.
  4. Also, I'm going to create a sticky to contain the citations. I think this should be public information as to why these are awarded. This board is about transparency after all.
  5. I'm going to add that staff members are ineligible to receive them. I'll agree that former staff should be recognized, but I'd like to stop there. Being a staff member - the reward is what you give, not what you get.
  6. Not sure how it would be different from having non-FX suit.
  7. OK, so is there now consensus that the paint scheme that Steven displayed as correct based *of the screen caps* supplemented by information on action figure? I would say that perhaps we can break it down by 501st standards vs. EIB, e.g. that for 501st standards either scheme is acceptable, but for EIB only that from the render. Would this work for everyone? Also - Jonathan I'm awarding you an FISD service medal as well. You've been the driving force behind getting this costume to *done*, and it would be stuck w/o you.
  8. It used to be that one way of marking someone's contribution to a forum was their post count, but the reality of forums is that post count does not really correlate at all. That said, I wanted a way to recognize outstanding service to the detachment. Something like the Army Achievement Medal. So I'm creating the FISD Service Medal award program to recognize outstanding achievement or meritorious service. Anyone can nominate someone for this award, though it can only be awarded by the Detachment Leader. Medals will also be awarded to FISD staff for completion of a successful year at their post. My goal is to not make this so rare as to be unachievable, but rare enough that it has value. My goal initially is to try to average one a month - think of it like the Trooper of the Month program the Legion has, but in this case the recipient gets a kudo in their profile information. The FISD official service award looks like this: With the ribbon like this: Award Levels FISD Service Award (1st Award) FISD Service Award (2nd Award) FISD Service Award (5th Award) FISD Service Award (6th Award)
  9. Step #1 is complete - I've created a custom field and it should show up in your profile. Step #2 is WIP - I have to get it to display on the topics pages.
  10. I've asked ATA for a few sets of belts/drop boxes as I'd like some real ones to troop with and see how they go. As of yet though, Terrell hasn't responded to my request to send him money I think this is pretty cool. The argument that they would have just taken something already done and cut it to size seems to make more sense than layering canvas and sewing it. What a journey this costume is - seems there's always something new turning up!
  11. FWIW, soft material is highly discouraged and may be dis-allowed at some point in the EIB standards, as it usually looks awful and using spare ABS is a relatively inexpensive and easy mod.
  12. Steven - you've just been awarded the FISD Achievement Medal for this effort. I'll take a look at ACP on how best to implement such a recognition pip as a data point.
  13. If you mean the ribbed parts, both the 501st and FISD standards state that they have to be plastic that comes with your kit. Remember that they are decorative only and in the movies only glued in the front. Most folks use white elastic or white fabric to actually hold the chest/back together. You can certainly use leather I guess, but I'm not sure why that would be any better. Sandtroopers as Mark points out of course did not have ribbed shoulder straps at all. MEPD standards forbid them only in the past few years, as they used to be OK, but not for a long while.
  14. I used them on my TE2 TK, I like them so much. 100% worth it.
  15. It's even a sticky on the for sale area. 11 pages of happy customers. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=2962
  16. I think they're AWESOME! (yes, worth shouting). I'm guessing that is Nathan and his wife, but I could be wrong.
  17. I love to bump. I mean, love the bump.
  18. Where are mine Great job bro!
  19. I don't believe so. The standard just says that you need a total of 6 t-racks, but doesn't specify anything about having to fill in holes for the Hasbro.
  20. That is DaveTheDane - a former 501st member who is banned from FISD for recasting TE2.
  21. Wow that's pretty amazing! Should we revisit the EIB standards? Right now they say:
  22. Whoa - this is looking awesome!
  23. Anyone ever lose parts? In my attempt to do both an ESB and ANH Elite trooper I have an extra helmet, extra hand plates, and extra belt/holster. But for the life of me I can't fine the ANH hand plates or ESB holster *anywhere*, so last two troops I've had to play "ESB trooper with ANH belt". I guess it's not too bad - forces me to get some latex hand plates which I wanted anyway, but the holster is quite confusing.
  24. LOL - isn't that what every good boy wants for X-Mas? A set of TM or TE2 under the tree
  25. Was the film ever made? Seems this was started a few years ago.
