  1. Spot on Joseph. It's the entire reason this forum exists.
  2. Some of us cheat and use the "painted" stickers by Mike Appling, but nothing beats pure hand painted. I think it came out nice.
  3. This looks pretty amazing - well done!
  4. I don't have a date on when the armor will be ready, and even then I have to plan my trip to the UK to get it. For sure I'll be posting pix of the fitting to share.
  5. Sweet - thanks Daniel! This is excellent news and I am very happy to hear this. I'll head over to your thread and check it out!
  6. Thanks - this helps. I wonder how close the plastic will be to the TM or others. With my TE2 I was able to paint the RT-Mod shins to match as TE2 is HIPS (thus needed painting anyway). The TM fits great as-is.
  7. A few months later than intended, but the order has been placed! Looking forward to joining the RS crowd. If I can time things right, I may be able to not only pick this up in person but also be able to troop once again with the UKG, marking its debut. I am concern with the shins though. Has anyone 6' or taller had any concerns? FX, RT-Mod, and TM fit me well, but ATA shins were simply too short. I asked Rob if he'd ever make a slightly taller shin for us cursed with long legs, but as you all know he's quite the busy person.
  8. Fixed. Sorry - I blame jet lag. I can still for a few more days, right? Right? ;-)
  9. And - sorry for double post - whether you meet "RS" Rob or "Catfood" Rob, they are both amazing people. Hopefully you'll get the chance to meet them both someday.
  10. Np mate, just teasing a bit. My schedule being ever changing whilst I was there didn't help either, so no worries. Lesson learned for next time. On the plus, it gives us both something to look forward to. :)
  11. And, how is it that I was 6 weeks in London and we never had the chance to meet up @themaninthesuitcase? ;-) LOL
  12. An AP helmet was the first non-FX item I ever bought. I'm glad this was helpful. :)
  13. Lest I forget, a big shout out to @cl6rkee for a great job as videographer & editor on this interview. He did a superb job, didn't he? :)
  14. You are the best, Rob! I'm eternally grateful for you shuttling me back and forth from the RS fab, and having a pint (or more) together. For certain next we meet the first round is on me.
  15. Doh! Fortunately you should only have to take a pix from the torso to show the fix vs. fully suiting up. :)
  16. While I was in the UK, one of the highlights of the trip was meeting with *the* Rob of RS Props. We sat down and chatted for almost 90 minutes, from which they posted this 30-ish minute video on YouTube at the link below. I someone seriously joke that there a betting pool with the FISD staff on if I could leave his shop without ordering a set of kit. While I hadn't intended on doing so (as I have a nice TK already), I was so impressed by Rob and his commitment to quality that I'm now trying to get my name added to the queue. If you ever have a chance to go to Manchester or meet with Rob, I encourage you to do so. He and his crew are true craftsmen and also some of the nicest people you'd ever meet. Can't say enough good things about them. Many thanks to everyone at RS for creating a truly memorable experience and sharing your passion and expertise for Star Wars costuming. You guys rock!
  17. Woo hoo! Another WA trooper. Welcome to the FISD & Garrison Titan. I presume you are in contact with GT already and registered on the boards?
  18. +1 for this recommendation. They are pretty much the standard for TKs these days, and have a lot of other solid costume parts as well.
  19. This is pretty awesome :)
  20. Hi Ben, it was truly an honor for me to be allowed to participate in your branding and getting to meet you. Your kit looked great, and you looked smashing in it. :) The UKG holds a very high standard for TKs in particular, so you should rightly feel proud of your accomplishment. I highly encourage you to submit your Expert Infantry submission photos soon, as I'm sure @jsilvius would love to get rid of the ones he has in stock. ;) I wish you all the success in your next troops with the UKG.
  21. As you all know, I do love getting FISD trading cards from members and they go into the archives. In an abundance of caution, David Bristol aka TK-17278 sent me not one, but *two* packages all the way from New Zealand. Talk about over-achieving ;-) Thanks so much David - I truly appreciate these. :)
  22. Found this on Bluesky, and I have to say I fully agree with it. Convince me I'm wrong ;)
  23. I'll take "Topics I Never Thought I'd See Posted on FISD" for $500, Alex ;-)
