  1. Yep, fair enough. And with the Doopy kit, there's only that one row of holes that you can see through anyway. It'll be a nice secure blaster (as you say), ideal for trooping with.
  2. Awesome pics Adam! I see Centurion written all over that armor!
  3. Excellent progress Tim! Can you remind me (can't seem to find it now) on your inner barrel thoughts? Did you go for a thicker barrel at the front just because it matches and makes it easier for the rear section? I'm guessing once it's all together you won't see much through the front holes anyway??
  4. Thanks Steve. So either 1942 M38 or 1943 M38 are ok (2nd or 4th on the list above)?
  5. Thanks for the heads up Steve. We know the Doopy and DVH kits include the M38 (second one down in the pic). That one appears to be the most common. However, in viewing a number of build threads, there appears to be quite a few of the other M38s (4th one down). This one looks very similar to the M38A2. I've aso read of a few people modifying a M38A2 so it looks like that M38. Main difference being the section near the front foot. Is this style M38 acceptable, or only the top one?
  6. Nice. Could take a while to get to your preferred number. Lol!
  7. Share the love! You only need one (well, maybe a few if you have several e-11s)
  8. Looks great Jeff. Congrats will be coming soon!
  9. From my research, I don't think it matters from a look point of view, but is the chest too close to your neck that it will end up slicing your throat up?
  10. Definately talking real! I would love to be able to see through a real scope. I'll never be able to have a firing one, or shell discharge like Aaron recenty posted, but extra goodies would be nice. The M38s are big $$$$, M19s a little less, but M38As are even less, hence my thoughts to convert.
  11. Looks great Kyle. Well done! Interesting about the teeth. As Maxsteele pointed out the CRLs clearly say 4 teeth, but I have seen Gazmosis say in an EIB application that 5 is acceptable. Another CRL anomaly. I think you should be right
  12. So, the M19 turned out to be a resin, not real. Bummer! So, now I've got thinking - is it conceivable to convert a M38A2 to a regular M38. Assuming those pics are to scale would it just be a matter of putty/bondo to taper that mid section where the bracket is, and also to extend the front part to meet up with the front foot? Is that too far fetched or would bondo of some sort hold up ok? I see this thread, but he hasn't molded the foot section. Would that be accpetable, or get canned for EIB/Centurion? http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26213-m38-a2-scope-mod-advise-please/
  13. Being from a country that you can't have guns unless you're a cop, or in a club, that's COOL! It also looks pretty shiny there. Maybe you should do the first chrome plated E-11?
  14. Well done. I've always thought of that, but I doubt I would make it without armor! Not quite sure if those boots are canon....
  15. Yeah, I've got the same folding stock too, which I don't particularly like the colour of either. From none not too long ago, to heaps! You're right Aaron, options galore. Flat black, heaps of types of wrinkle/texture paint, paper dabbing, etc. I'm leaning towards flat black, but what I found, and it looks like Tim has found, even flat black can have a sheen to it. On my hasbro build, I scuffed it down with fine sandpaper. You probably couldn't do that with the textures. Anyway, Tim - as requested, good luck with the final finish. Awaiting eagerly.
  16. While the efforts and execution are undoubtedly second to none (maybe equal to others ), personally I'm not too sure on the finish. I'll have to do a lot of research before I decide on the finish for my upcoming build. From what I understand, just about everyone painted theirs flat black until Steve or others posted pics of the wrinkle finish on the original Sterlings. Do we have detailed pics of the actual E-11's? I guess they just sprayed them black (as Vern hs pointed out), over the existing military finish?? Can't wait to see the end result Tim, once you tone down that shine. That will probably make a big difference.
  17. I used the Dremel cutting disc for most of my cuts. Just like a mini angle grinder.
  18. To answer your question above - yes, ATA is EI and Centurion capable. Check out some of the huge array of applications in the EI and Centurion threads. Really nice. Any of the vetted makers (ATA, AP, RS, etc) and most of the non vetted (MTK for example) will be EI/Centurion ok. I think I saw RS post on their facebook page that they were busy and would get back to people asap. (However I can't comment on fitting for women, or fitting for someone of your size)
  19. That is probably correct for EIB, but for Centurion it would be "Boring conversation anyway. Luke! We're going to have company!" LOL! I think I might. It would be awesome to have a properly aligned see through scope! And ditto to the great information above. I hadn't come across that before. That's prop making in the 70's on a budget, I guess. So many combinations. Throw together whatever you can with whatever you can get hold of.
  20. I think they're quoting Han's line from the movie. Debating whether it's "Boring conversation" or "Stupid conversation". When he blasts the radio on the desk. Edit - Too late, Brian beat me.
  21. Anyway, back on track...... So, if the M19 was just as common as the M38, why does everyone use the M38? Is it frowned upon to use the 19? Pretty sure my buddy has a real M19 which he was just going to give me for nothing, but I said no, cause I thought I needed a M38. Thinking I might go and get it from him!
  22. I might do that scope mod to my Hasbro? I've got the same decal (came with the Doopy Kit) for the rear of my scope, but it just doesn't look right. Yours does look beter for some reason. Going great guns!
  23. Yeah, I've done the whole car interior thing aswell. Held up real good. I'm just about to buy my boots and dye/paint them but the store owner said DON'T use the spray USE the liquid. So dunno..... You should be our guinea pig Aaron!
  24. Amazing work. Some bigger detailed pics would be nice. As Aaron said - awesome R2. A lot of intricate styrene cutting there!
