Scope rail looks better. Can you trim down a bit of the rear sight to get the rear a bit lower? It's a bit like it's got a downward curve, instead of an upward curve now. The MTK shins are (were) very thin. I didn't discuss it in a lot of detail in my thread, but I gave them a good soaking in boiling water to reshape them a bit, but I also added about 10mm of ABS to the rear (is hidden by the cover strip) to give me a bit more material to bend around. It did help quite a bit. You can just see the faint line running toward the drilled hole in this pic.

Nice! Get some imperials cogs printed on them and they'd be trick! I'm running with a cardboard box with the lid held on with sticky tape at the moment. Yes, I would like to upgrade.... Haven't seen those Husky's in Australia....

They generally don't look at the finer details, as long as all the major components are there - counter, scope, cylinders, etc - and that they look 'reasonably' accurate.

So Dave, you can take that as a 'no', you don't need scuffed boots. The general consensus is that the condition of your boots should match the condition of your armour. Shiny=Clean. Battle worn=Scuffed.

Interesting. The 'lightly scuffed' CRL was removed from both ANH versions ages ago, but you're right, it's still there for ESB....

Looks great mate! Only thing I could mention is that CRL's mention no gap between ab and kidney, where you have quite a large overlap. As I said, not on the CRLs so probably no issue, but reducing the overlap to a single seam would improve the look. Good luck!

Sorry, I think you've asked two separate questions. Glueing snaps to armor - definately. But glueing elastic/webbing to armor - no.

Can't say I've come across that before. I'd be doing heaps of research viewing the EIB and Centurion threads - they all have pictures of strapping, and of course the photo gallery for original costume pics.

That was my problem - either easy to get and off on but would come apart while trooping, of pain in the butt to get on and off to be secure while wearing... Couldn't find the happy medium.

They're not snaps. They're hooks. Sort of like bra hooks. The holes do go all the way through, and yes, they were a pain to use for me. I changed and went to Velcro.

I think that looks great Brian. Amazing how many 'knurled' items there are in a typical house.... Great progress on the rear clip/lock. The aluminium channel looks to be perfect fit. Interesting to see how that works out. (Will send you mine when you're done)

LOL. Yes, never assume someone is smart . At least you were smart enough to realise you're bucket wasn't big enough before cutting the S trim to size. Someone (me) wasn't...

Ditto to what Tino says, then make sure your S-Trim is long enough. Although, worst case, you'll need to buy a longer length of S-Trim as I had to do for my bucket.

E-6000 is the glue of choice for many. I did E6000 with Nylon backed snaps onto the armor. Scour some build threads and the EIB/Centurion threads as Tusken mentioned for some great eamples.

Looks good. Will be interesting to see how it holds up. I 'dipped' my motor bike a year of so back - accidently scuffed the tank with my boots hopping off and 'chipped' the dip. As you can't respray to blend it I had to totally remove it. (apart from my front mudguard - it's still dipped) How flexible is it on the side elastics?
