  1. Looking good Chris. If you want to go that one extra step, which I know you do, you could do a bit more filing on the Hengstler, as got pointed out to me during my build. See post 221 below. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29089-dvh-pipe-build-with-extras/page-12 There's also some good images in TK-50101 Blue Snaggletooths for sale thread at the moment. Back to the scope screw discussion - that one you have securing the rail looks pretty good! Can't tell what the diameter is, but must be close...
  2. Negative to Brass! Magnet picks them up!
  3. You're probably not going to continue to update the thread if you're annoyed posting it, which is no good for anyone.... I have no idea about flickr, but photo bucket does work a treat
  4. Here's a couple extra pics, Chris. Confirms Aarons measurements... As for what they're made of, mine are quite black, but hints of brass under maybe, so I would guess yes. Someone more experiences might have to chime in there. Keep up the great work!
  5. Will do Chris. Will check when I get home this evening. They look to be the same as Aarons, posted previous page, so I'm guessing 7mm but will confirm. What they're made of? No idea, until I have a look later....
  6. Haha. Thanks Joey! I did wake up this morning to quite a few 'notifications'.... I think I'm leaning towards something basic - matte black, gloss black, silver around the trigger, and something different for the bolt. Nothing too fancy.
  7. Feel free to check for my slot! These ones are original slotted ones. Direct from the M38 (well, M77C). Bit hard to get a great shot installed:
  8. Thanks Aaron. I was just searching my photo bucket for a photo of the screws my scope came with. Same ones! If you zoom in, you can see how they look installed. Nice and neat.
  9. Thanks Chris. Appreciate the feedback. I actually made a stand for it recently so it has somewhere to sit. Still haven't painted it yet. Must really get round to doing that... Your build is going above and beyond many of these 'older' threads already - but that's the idea of a build thread, to ask questions and hopefully provide help to others. Glad you could get something out of it.
  10. Chris - Check out Andy's 'Budget resin cylinders'. They're a cast off the metal ones, so look just as good. That's what I put on my blaster. Edit: just read his thread - http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24821-screen-accurate-resin-budget-power-cylinders-for-e11s/ looks like they're sold out until enough interest is there for another run.
  11. Good idea covering the magnets up. Should look good once painted. Lets hope the super glue is stronger than than the magnets
  12. Thought I'd better check in on the amazing build Tino told me about. Some awesome mods there Chris! Way to go
  13. Is that the same way you talk to Steve? And sorry, but when did I insist on anything? I made a suggestion. Germain disagreed, Steve agreed, you disagreed.... So?
  14. Looks great Ben. Good luck!
  15. Good 'example' photo Steve. And great idea to pencil it in first. Wish I did that. The same process could be used for the rear traps as well. I think the left one (as we see it in the pic) is a bit away from the bottom corners too. Trooperbay sells excellent stencils for painting the tube stripes too, if you decide to paint them later. Just remember, about a pencil width away from the cheek crease.
  16. I think the side one needs to be unpainted too. Good overall build. Well done!
  17. Exactly! A luxury, which is why I mentioned taking the "extra" step. Odd, Germain, that you would feel the need to comment on that, when you're own helmet goes way past. Anyway....
  18. ??? Is that agreeing with me or disagreeing? Can't tell by that picture.
  19. Should be a shoe in. Good luck! Only things I would comment on would be with your helmet - painting seems a bit thick in parts especially the rank bars on the ears, and you could take it that one extra step and get a longer brow trim to meet up with the ends of your traps. Well done!
  20. Haha, it's called trying to drive a new Mac. Exactly, hence my reply about eyeballing it. As long as it looks in proportion no one will throw you over the coals about it.
  21. ...as long as we don't call it the Pee Pee E-11. LOL! Anyway, can't wait to see this version grow and build - be built, should I say.
  22. I think Jared is asking whether the 10mm is to the edge of the hole, or to the centre of the hole. Jared, I couldn't find a definitive answer either when I did mine. I just eyeballed it. First off, I did a 10mm centre but it visually looked too close, so I just pushed it in a little. This shot of the RS suit shows placement. Unfortunately, no tape measure on it Edit - Hmm, pic didn't copy across. Oh well, check out the photo reference gallery
  23. Its another one of those "in the real world....." Those gloves do look good and would probably be the choice of 'real' stormtroopers.
  24. Mine is basically 9 x 9. So a bit wider than yours but the same front to back
