  1. Well deserved approval Mandy. You worked really hard and it shows in the quality of your build. Can't wait to see your EIB application next. And you know where we go from there. Congrats Trooper. Welcome to the 501st!!
  2. Well deserved Marco! Congratulations.
  3. Looks good buddy. Fingers crossed.
  4. Dip a toothpick in paint thinner and start picking away.
  5. I'm a big fan of my Eastbay Compression top.
  6. Nice fit Jeff. Looking forward to trooping with you real soon. Canada Day perhaps. How's the mobility? Stairs?
  7. I have success with Tapatalk when I want to post pictures.
  8. Remove ALL the return edge at the wrist end
  9. Use male snaps for the snap plates and use female snaps for your elastic connecting pieces.
  10. Heavy Weapons Trooper is what you would want to look into. Sandtroopers helmets would be weathered, as well as painted different and therefore not interchangeable. HWT would require a belt that you can remove the drop boxes for level 2 approval. Other than that, build a back pack, buy a Pauldron , get yourself a BFG and you can moonlight your TK as a HWT. Please someone tell me what I'm overlooking.
  11. What I did for this was, put down some painters tape where I know the snaps will end up. Use some ink from a sharpie or felt and colour the open side of the female snaps. Line up your belt to the ab, centred and high enough. Pull on each side and push down, transferring the ink from your snap to the painters tape. Drill out the centre of the mark and add male snaps there.
  12. The front of the shin cover strip should measure 7/8". Each half of that should come in right around 7/16". If that's what you are measuring off of those pre drawn lines, then I say go forth with confidence that you are on the right track. Save the rear sizing for the Armor Party this Sunday. Extra eyes and hands will help get it right the first time.
  13. I just received an email from them after inquiring about a pair of B Grades and they tell me that "Our newest version of the TK Boots is slightly narrow." Which tells me that they may have recently changed supplier or manufacturer? What size boot did you order? It would be nice to compare to an older version of the same size.
  14. You should try a picture with your cod in place. You may need to raise the thighs a bit more. All depends on the gaps between the tops of thighs and bottom of cod. Also some foam at the bottom of the thighs will help to push them outward to prevent the knock-knee'd look.
  15. Wow. Quality build. I'd say good luck but you won't need it.
  16. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I had the same problem. I took two strips of abs, about 3/4" X 6" long. Glue 3" worth onto the kidney portion. The 3" under the ab plate will be free floating, but will be enough to keep your kidney even with the ab. If you have trouble with up and down movement you can always add another strip, this one glued to the ab, between the two strips glued to the kidney. Kind of like a finger join. I can post pictures later if you'd like to see what I mean.
  18. Elastic everywhere. That's what I did.
  19. I had to cut the heels off of my mannequin. Also had to cut abou 4" out of each arm, at the elbow, and replace the cutout section with duct tape. This will allow the arms to bend enough to get the biceps on.
  20. For that you are going to want to buy a new one. Contact your armor maker. They usually have spares they can send out. Not very expensive.
  21. Right on Tom!!! I'm really excited for you. Be sure to come out to the Armor Party on April 3rd at the same place in Vancouver. Roster up in the ORG Forum if you can make it.
