  1. Do not use acetone or goof off (acetone based) as these products will MELT your plastic!!! Try placing the Armor into the freezer for 24hours. The freezing will cause the water base of the CA glue to micro fracture as it expands. This should be a good start, then follow up with a heat gun, (not too hot or this will also MELT your plastic) and a Razor knife along the edge basically cutting it free at that point. Good luck!!
  2. Very cool Mark. Looking forward to this build.
  3. Well deserved approval Mandy. You worked really hard and it shows in the quality of your build. Can't wait to see your EIB application next. And you know where we go from there. Congrats Trooper. Welcome to the 501st!!
  4. Make a Wish Foundation puts on an event called Rope For Hope where people can rappel down the side of high rise hotel in Vancouver. We were the official high five crew in the "You did it zone" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Dip a toothpick in paint thinner and start picking away.
  6. Canada Day Parade in Vancouver drew our largest contingent of Outer Rim Garrison members to a single event. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I'm a big fan of my Eastbay Compression top.
  8. Nice fit Jeff. Looking forward to trooping with you real soon. Canada Day perhaps. How's the mobility? Stairs?
  9. I have success with Tapatalk when I want to post pictures.
  10. Just try it. It's possible. I've driven in full armor. Minus the helmet and detonator. I typically pop a chest snap in the process however.
  11. I've been trooping for just over a year now and thought it would be nice to share some of my most memorable troops with you. I will also continue to add to this log as I move along. First parade. Hats Off Day in Burnaby BC Autism Walk Dreams Take Flight. A 4am troop to send sick kids off to Disneyland for a day. Battlefront Launch at EA Vancouver Giants Hockey Game. I also got to do the promo work. Honour Guard for a young man that we had previously visited in hospital. This one meant a lot to me. Children's Wish Foundation. This was Walt's first troop and the first picture he sees is of his niece that was a recipient of the Foundation before she passed. Northern Fan Con. Got to meet Dickie Beer. Great guy with great stories. Vancouver Whitecaps FC2 match. Shriners Hospital fundraiser. CKNW Orphans Fund Picnic at Playland. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Remove ALL the return edge at the wrist end
  13. Use male snaps for the snap plates and use female snaps for your elastic connecting pieces.
  14. Heavy Weapons Trooper is what you would want to look into. Sandtroopers helmets would be weathered, as well as painted different and therefore not interchangeable. HWT would require a belt that you can remove the drop boxes for level 2 approval. Other than that, build a back pack, buy a Pauldron , get yourself a BFG and you can moonlight your TK as a HWT. Please someone tell me what I'm overlooking.
  15. What I did for this was, put down some painters tape where I know the snaps will end up. Use some ink from a sharpie or felt and colour the open side of the female snaps. Line up your belt to the ab, centred and high enough. Pull on each side and push down, transferring the ink from your snap to the painters tape. Drill out the centre of the mark and add male snaps there.
  16. The front of the shin cover strip should measure 7/8". Each half of that should come in right around 7/16". If that's what you are measuring off of those pre drawn lines, then I say go forth with confidence that you are on the right track. Save the rear sizing for the Armor Party this Sunday. Extra eyes and hands will help get it right the first time.
  17. I just received an email from them after inquiring about a pair of B Grades and they tell me that "Our newest version of the TK Boots is slightly narrow." Which tells me that they may have recently changed supplier or manufacturer? What size boot did you order? It would be nice to compare to an older version of the same size.
  18. You should try a picture with your cod in place. You may need to raise the thighs a bit more. All depends on the gaps between the tops of thighs and bottom of cod. Also some foam at the bottom of the thighs will help to push them outward to prevent the knock-knee'd look.
