  1. Very nice thinking on the shin strapping there! That's something new I could do for my shins!
  2. That was the scariest thing I've seen someone do on a TK. Beats be how you managed to get on the roof with the suit one and balance there! Hope you didn't slip and broke your armou...*ahem* I mean your bones!
  3. I left my boots with paint chipped off so it looks a little scuffed. Haven't repainted it yet. I like that look.
  4. Great to know we celebrate all (if not most) cultures and customs!
  5. Yeah it's more "authentic" to be in character. When ever my garrison go trooping we strive to stay in character. Especially the officers what with their stern faces, expression and tone; they're so good!
  6. Like Gaz said, go ahead and apply for EIB and then whatever is standing out can be sorted. The things I can see standing out are the bottom curves of the knee ammo pack. They look like they're in a 90 degree angle when they should be curved kinda like this: The other thing would be the shin cover strip as they look wider than the standard. But the correct measurements can be sorted out when during your application feedback and I'd leave that to the DO My ABS paste hardens after a day (I usually apply it at night and work on it the next evening) it'lk get as hard as it was pre-acetone. That's when its best to sand it. Good luck and all the best in your application
  7. ooh ooh. A new section in FISD (off-topic of course) where we can have a forum-based RPG. We can still use the same materials from the books and all!
  8. I've always wanted to play a Star Wars rpg. But I've yet to find a group of friends who'd do that with me
  9. It is really really hot. But when you're trooping you end up having so much fun that it becomes bearable (so,ermines you even forget about it!) The ears are a nightmare to work with but don't worry about the gaps. You'll see many screenshots with gaps in them! Looking really good thanks for posting up your journey
  10. Welcome to the ranks buddy! And great work on the matching calve and thigh cover strips! you looks amazing! )
  11. I have RS PVC armour. So I'm guessing the flexibility might be different. The material and quality it self is very durable to me. I can say that because I built it and am a very clumsy person myself! I'm glad it turned out fine though (and that's thanks to the folks here and in my garrison!) The helmet seems a little thin but trust me it's pretty hardy. I actually stuff it in my backpack (my luggage bag doesnt have space ) when I go for troops and it turns out fine and if you're worried about the bumps and curves and how the helmet doesn't seem symmetrical, that's because RS managed to capture the look and bumps (and flaws maybe?) of the original helmet! The only cracks I get are from the return edges on my chest armour due to me not storing it properly in my luggage bag but those are easily fixed with ABS paste and reinforced with cut out scrap plastic behind the cracks A member once stated that going screen accurate has a "craptastic" look. And I actually do love that look! Your armour looks amazing btw! and I can't wait to see your weathering if you're planning to weather it more
  12. Keep up the good work! My RS worked fine without the internal strips They're very hardy
  13. Congrats buddy! I know the feeling very well.
  14. Hi Diana! Wishing you all the best for your build. I had no tool shed or garage or basement and built mine on a dining table too! It definitely is overwhelming when you get all the pieces. We were all there! But we're here to help Keep looking at the build threads. I found myself looking at the threads and researching far more than actually building it. And what a great way to spend the Christmas! once again all the best. Looking forward to your build
  15. It's a lot easier to have the hooks facing inwards (hooking outside in). It will save you a lot of trouble plus it's more accurate
  16. This is how I did my shins, hope it helps I use a small screwdriver to remove the hooks away from the holes as it can get tricky to use your fingers
  17. Your build looks very good! And using screen caps from the movie is the advice that has always been given to me. Having some space on the wrists are fine you can add foam underneath for a better fit if you think it's too loose
