  1. I couldn't get them evenly spaced as when the armour came to me the ab plate already had holes drilled in them by RS. Not on the kidney plate though. Which is why I replicated the rivet spacing. Actualy since you mentioned that they were unaligned it's been bugging me ever since! Wish I had taken a closer look when I drilled the holes on the kidney plate. Too bad I can't do anything about it, other than buying a new set D:
  2. Hey, Yeah I don't think can make the faceplate any closer to the brow unless i disassemble the whole helmet, break the rivets and attach new ones. But I don't want to risk widening the punched holes by accident or punching a new one real close to the old rivet holes. Is this a big issue for getting into EIB? :S
  3. Thanks for the feedback Morten The cover strips on my thigh look long as it covers the top edge of the outer half of the right thigh. I can trim a little on the left thigh though And also my rivet are a little unaligned. Hope it doesn't affect my entry too much I will get on to trimming the right side of my kidney plate then

  6. Just got cleared and am in the UK Garrison and proud too! Thanks guys for all the help provided. Really appreciate them
  7. Not some major differences here but I tapered the thighs a little. I didn't want to overdo it as I'm not too comfortable trimming off too much now that, I hope, I'm pretty much there. Here's a close up shot of the elastic bands and how it looks on me.. It was recommended that I trim back of the knees for more comfortable movement so I did some Hoping to get cleared soon! Can't wait to be a part of the Legion and start trooping with others
  8. I'm on The Red Eclipse in the PC Gamer Mint Imperials guild
  9. I have trimmed behind the knees and adjusted the ab plate to go up higher by a little. My left shoulder is fine but was in an awkward position when the shot was taken A couple of shots that weren't too visible from the pics
  10. Buttons haven't arrived so I've decided to make my own temporary one for the pictures... I have recently applied for a spot in the 501st. Hopefully they will get back to me soon! And then I can get this cleared in the UK Garrison too
  11. Thanks Glen. Glad to know that they don't boxes don't drop easily
  12. Belt has just arrived. I stitched the elastic straps into a loop and glued them to the back of the dropboxes. I'm unsure whether they're glued or riveted. I have seen some build threads where the rivet them but I want to be sure first. At the moment the glued dropboxes still hold pretty fine. I am still waiting for the caps to arrive. Will update as soon as I get them.
  13. Thanks Glen. Thankfully there's a fabric shop nearby my place. Gonna make a trip there to look for some elastics
  14. Ah ok. I guessing the belt presses the armour and holds it all together
  15. Will do! I'm just giving all the pieces a test fit. So far the body armour fits well but buckles on the right and at the bottom seem to pop off after some movement. The shins seem to be a little long (looks like I have short shins). Will upload some pics of the shins when I glued the knee plate.
  16. Are the shoulder straps glued to the chest? They seem really loose and easily fall off.
  17. I have glued and assembled most of the armour (with the exception of the belt as I'm still waiting for it to be sent)
  18. ah ok thanks! I guess i should buy them from the armour maker. I don't really have the tools to make those
  19. Does anyone know how to make or where to find covers for the belt rivets? (picture is taken from http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/17983-my-anh-tm-stunt-armor-with-original-strapping/?hl=+strapping )
  20. I guess his "shipping anywhere" would include the UK I will look into purchasing one. Thanks mate!
  21. Cheers for the link! I only need one though and it'll be too much of a hassle to order a bunch and let it go to waste. Are they custom made or can I get the wire brackets in retail stores?
  22. As seen in the picture I accidentally snapped the hook. Does anybody know where I could buy more of these?
  23. The cover strips were provided by RS Prop Masters. But they were in large blank slabs which I had to cut them up into strips
  24. I'm finding it difficult to understand how the strapping works. This picture was taken from one of the FISD forums. I've been provided with some elastic bands to cut into separate pieces (at least I think I should cut them). I'm not sure what is done to the elastic back to join the two pieces together. My guess is that the elastic band is cut into strips of 2-3 inches and then either sewed or glued together? Or am I entirely wrong. I'm kind of stuck in this area. I have seen many references that show the placements of the screws and bands and good ones in fact but can't find one that shows how to "band them together"
