See, I see Mr. No Stripes and all the other anomalies as the same thing….continuity OK, we know why there had to be a trooper with a Grappling Hook and Comm’s unit for Luke to overpower to get these items, over wise he couldn’t leap the void when the bridge controls were shot out or call C3PO for help in trash compactor, yardaa-yardaa-yardaa but I really don’t think for one minute that the average viewer at the time noticed that it was a different helmet (or the cut down chest plate, back plate, etc…) when Luke is suddenly donning this wonderful costume. I think its just another thing that slipped through the net and Uncle George and the Boys didn’t in a million years think that anybody would notice. The trouble is,……They never counted on the likes of US to spot and take in EVER minute detail ……the poor dears If we want to talk Screen Grabs as justifiable evidence of one thing or other I could fill this thread (as a good many others could) with a good few pages of brilliant examples of superb enduring quirks that were also missed by the average humble viewer.

My personal opinion is that if we go down this route for EIB then you will have to consider all other recognisable ‘quirky’ variants such as Mr. No-Stripes. There is far more screen grab evidence for this costume example then for TK-421 but we just dismiss it as Paul eloquently put it as a ‘prop miss’ There are an handful of other known details that you could justifiably argue the merit of being ‘Screen Accurate’, so do we throw these in to the mix as well?

I've had stuff still soft after two frigging days I try to use the last remains of some older cans that I still have or Testors where possible. The newer stuff is really hard work

That's not the case mate, your TK (501st ID) is unique and allocated to you for life. Numbers are NEVER re-issued,...it's just sitting there waiting for you to get out there and start trooping again The only time I've evere heard of numbers being given to other people was back in the early days when the membership ID structure was all over the place which resulted in many people from around the World all picking the same numbers. Its not been like that for a long, long time though. Mine is the time that my beee-ewwww-teee-ful daughter was born ....4.50pm = 1650

See,....now this where we need a 'Like' button on here for posts like this

John, All new 'Build'threds and EIB submissions have now got which armour it is in the title.Something Mason rolled out when he came on to the staff. There is no Gallery as such but most suits are easy enough to find if you need to track one down. Also,With all the re-cast and new 'approved' derived stuff out there I think that you would have more then a good few suits from different makers all looking the same with minimum 'tells'as they all stem from the same doners.

I love this scene,...two troopers just hanging out, chewing the fat,...wondering what's for supper tonight Have you noticed how high up those shins are sitting?, they're virtually at the top of the boots . Ohh, and Mr.Hailes will be pleased about this rare find of 'The Twisted Knee Trooper',...'coz he can now say that he is even MORE screen accurate then he already was

John 'Cutting-in' is a painters term, it's just a technique of painting up to or directly on the edge of something that you are painting. In this instance it means painting the borders of the traps and tear ducts with black and then when dry applying the grey leaving a thin black edge / pin stripe all the way around Simples!!

Approproate Mannequin for display
Billhag replied to hdtheater's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
WOW!!!, Steve 10 feet 5!!!! Man that is some mannequin,....I wonder who they modelled that from? http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/Billhag/GIFS/m1727.gif -
Yerrp, same as Mark Rob, nearly all the ones we see on screen were just sprayed over with black so you couldn't really see the numbers.I think we only leave the numbers showing so that we can show off a little bit to let others know its real, although it is quite funky I must say. Personally I prefer to make a statement with mine http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/Billhag/GIFS/4funnies_com_animated_emoticons_devil_21.gif------- .....666, the Mark of the Beast,..ohh yerrh!

John As others have said TE/TE2/AP from Mike should fit fine mate and they are far better then the one's that came with the original helmet kit. Here's a pic of my original cheeky little GF Hero that resides in my humble lid collection Personally I'd hand paint them, or at least the traps and tear ducts and then use Mike's Dave.M tube stripes. Are you keeping it Hero?,....and DID you get the rest of the suit?

Tk9301 Requesting EIB status[145][AP]
Billhag replied to giric thren's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thomas errm, I know mate that's why I high lighted it. Gluing them at the front is more screen accurate and in my opinion should be a 'must have'. As I said a really simple thing to do, but Boy! does look a million times better As for the green lenses, a shot showing this used to be part of the submission for EIB but if the new D.O. as changed this please forgive me Have pride in being EIB, I know I do -
Rick Same stuff mate A couple of spots of glue and you'll be laughing

Tk9301 Requesting EIB status[145][AP]
Billhag replied to giric thren's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thomas / Paul I know it may NOT be a 'Must Have' but velcro on the front of the shoulder bridges for EIB? Call me an 'Elitist' if you want, but this is a REEEEELY simple thing to do and adds to the appearance ten fold Other then that the only things I can add to what others have said, that it would be nice to see the following;- Green lens White drop box straps Rank bars on ear antennas TD details -
errm,.....Abb buttons mate?

Blaine Not quite sure what as happened for you to react this way, but I can only assume that it may have something to do with the bazooka that Mason as just put up for sale which I understand was earmarked for you originally If this is the case, then you’ve totally lost me on this one fella, as I've taken some personal interest in this and I know for a fact that Dave Hildreth the UKG’s GML said that he would approve this weapon no problem, with a suggestion that you may want to just blank off the tube centre at some point so that you can’t see straight threw it, but this would not affect its approval. Add to this, I know that Gary our currant XO had taken a special interest in your situation and told you that he would personally help in every way he could to get you out there trooping with a monster cannon. So as you can see, really not sure where you are coming from with this recent turn of events. . Paul Sorry mate, that doesn’t sound like a really great vote winner in my book,….“Vote for me and I’ll pass your costume of whether its correct or not†Whatever you may think of the UKG’s standpoint on costuming standards, the fact is the currant CO and XO, Alex and Gary have both taken the time to talk to Blaine and help and encourage him not to give up on his HWT and have offered him all the help and assistance they can give to get this costume pushed through. I’ll think you’ll also find that no matter who is serving on the Command staff of the UKG, past, present or future, that the ethos of up holding the highest standards where possible will always prevail no matter what. .

Pandatrooper PVC pipe plaster build
Billhag replied to pandatrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Robert One of the guys over on the UKG recently ask this, so I called in the 'Egg-sperts' And here's the rest of the post..... Nah mate' date=' those little dudes are very thorough, they wanted to measure the whole of the barrel from where the bayonet discs sit to the very end so they just took it off I've got two at the moment and they are both the same lengh, I've had one for about five years and the other about three. Both were deactivated by different companies/gun smiths. In total I've had at least 15-20 pass through my hands but I did't measure them all Here's what my two measure up at The BBC templates are really just an interpretation of a Sterling, they are no way precise (far from it in some areas ) but they are a great guide and aid to making a killer blaster if used right Hope this helps mate -
WOW!!! Way to go Paul!!!

Stormtrooper by Andrew Ainsworth, I call BS.
Billhag replied to sixxgunn13's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Vern Really surprised at your post mate, especially after Brian Muir (stands up and salutes) replied to a very similar Post from your good self No one is debating that Andrew ‘Walter Mitty’ Ainsworth vac formed the armour and lids, the trouble is that his fabrication skills have branched out over recent years to grossly untrue verbal variety. Vern, everyone is entitled to their own opinion mate and if you decide to believe the dross that Mr.Ainsworth spews out Then so be it, but please don’t quote them as FACTS when they have been proven otherwise. I’m just glad we have the honour and privilege of Brian being part of our community to openly share with us information on a subject that we all so passionately love. Ask me who I believe is telling the truth?, …Brian, every time, without question, -
