Chelsea boots brand used in the films?
Billhag replied to LittleOne's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Jaymz No way mate, not in a million years. This is what DM's looked like for that timeframe and as Rob said they didn't make that many styles but every boot / shoe that they did produce back then had their distinctive trade mark 'Air-Wear' sole. which is nothing like the originals -
Sam Loving that you've got two with consecutive numbers, how frigging COOL is that!! I've had at least 15-20 of these Bad Boys pass through my hands over the years and I've never managed to do that, nice one mate Looking forward to seeing these two beautiful pieces come together Vern That sounds interesting mate, how many full real Sterlings have you got? I'd love to see them in all their wonderful glory You just can't get enough of the real thing if you ask me

I love the way that me and Mark seem to be inch perfect with our blaster pose in this one. As you can see, Pete-Stukatrooper, as always, likes to do his own thing . -
TM all the way......it's sheer white plastic porn

Karin Yerrp, Pete-Stukatrooper opened up an whole new way of doing things when he brought these Bad Boys in to the trooping World, I never use anything else I'm Just finishing off this TM for a new guy in our Garrison and it was totally trimmed using nothing but Lexan's, and I'll be doing the same for the one that I'll be starting straight after. It's like a TM conveyer belt in my house at the moment As others have said, you're doing a brilliant job and it's looking really good just take your time and if you get stuck with anything just ask and we'll all jump in to help you mate.

Luke's ANH armour fitting
Billhag replied to john danter's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
And pretty darn sexy it looks too matey Following on from what Paul said about Luke's arms and looking again at my bottom picture from above, it reminded me of one of the chats I had with Brian Muir's lovely wife Lindsay when I was in armour. She complimented me on my suit and ask if she could see my arms and proceeded to count each side silently. Immediatly pronouced "That's TM isn't it?" and carried on to tell me that Brian had totally forgotten that he'd sculpted an odd number of indents on the forearms until he saw Paul's suits. How frigging COOL is that!!! -
Luke's ANH armour fitting
Billhag replied to john danter's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Rich Totally agree mate.Paul's later chests have shorter tabs and they sit a lot different now. With a little bit of playing around you can get the front and back sitting near as God damn on us short ar$e's without cutting the bottoms -
Luke's ANH armour fitting
Billhag replied to john danter's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I've trooped my TM from day one with my chest like this and no one as ever said a thing about it being shortened My fisrt Troop, me getting 'Branded' (even having you showing me the ropes never managed to scare me off mate ) Spot the shortend chest on the good looking trooper on the right taken a good few years ago now I even trimmed down Gary's old TM chest just a smidge for him and Pete-Stuka didn't notice untill it was pointed out Just go for it mate -

Was there a other mould?
Billhag replied to Turrican's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Lou Gino is WRONG if he said that mate They were part of the original mold, nothing to do with HDPE cooling. Check out these picks of a recent 'loft-find' of an original ANH helmet and suit here in the UK and you'll see the detail is clearly defined mate -
Eric I think you’ve got me all wrong mate, it was never my intention to mock you or the points that you’ve raised. I apologise if you feel that way. If I was mocking anything it was using questionable resources as a point of reference and not your initial enquiry which I do honestly think is a valid one. Now, do I think we should have a Stunt with Hero config for EIB?, my personnel opinion is no. Do I think that TK-421 is cool?,..HELL YERH!!. I’m in no way arguing that point. He was a pivotal part of not only the film but of the 501st as we know it. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, his supposed armour is more synonymous with Luke as the plot always intended it to be. Did they get it wrong with the helmets? of course they did. If they got it right we wouldn’t be debating the subject now. Luke’s and TK-421’s appearance in armour were meant to be identical, and to many it was. Two troopers come in, Han and Luke bash them over the head and nick there armour, roll on next scene. The illusion was meant to be seamless and leave us believing it was the same set of suits that the ‘good guys’ were now wearing. I know, I know, I know, ….him having a stunt lid on makes him unique and should be considered as such (and in many ways he is) but you can go around and around in circles with this one and never truly nail it down. and anyway the Boss as spoken and given his forthright opinion on the subject. Please, please, please put some pictures up of commlink/grappling hook set up as promised, I’d love to see ‘em mate Take care

OK!!, OK!!!,.....I GIVE UP!!!! So, shall we also add super powerful transmitters, helmet computers,a Comtech Series IV speaker using three-phase sonic filtering for clear sound, fitted integrated standard personal ray-shield projectors, Proper Resonator to open secure doors,Holographic Vision Processors,Three ion flares,Three water packs, Combat de-ionizer, etc, etc to the list of possibles for EIB clearence, as these are also refered to in numerous retrospective ramblings in a wide rage of publications Or am I just being silly now What we do know is what we all saw in the film, a set of props placed on a specific trooper, for A specific reason, to enable forth coming plot lines to unfold. Hey!, but what do I know?
-
Eric I like your thinking mate, I can see it now..... Luke:- "pssst!!,...trooper,....yes you,..would you mind awfully going back outside and ask one of your shorter trooper chums to come in and search for us?....there's a good fellow"
-
emmmm,.... using the Star Wars Visual Dictionary as 'dictate' or 'Golden Source' would be a VERY dangerous thing to do <_< It's not the belt set up that is the 'prop miss', its the style of helmet. We never see any other trooper in the film with this set up so I think we can safely say that the whole purpose for it to be there was solely for Luke to use in the later scenes.Other wise everyone would be shouting out "where the bloody hell did he get that hook from?
