  1. you can almost hear the groan from the TK and the cheerful whistle of the Sandy as he walks away....
  2. Yes, but I whant it like this, Han Solo´s helmet has this too Greetings Alex Alex, I love Han's Lid, I'm not really an 'Hero' helmet sortaa guy but there is just something about it that makes me go....mmmmmm! Ohh, and you're right about leaving a bit more meat around the eyes mate Nice work matey, she's a beaut!!
  3. An 'Imperial Attaché' actively encouraging others to use the ancient art of deception for clearance?,....WOW!!, Why do things right when it's soooooooo much easier to cut corners
  4. Well done mate, I'm really, really pleased for you and so glad that we got the RIGHT result. Congratulations .
  5. Hey David Mate you wasn't the first to try to piqué Kevin's interest (and his phenomenal talent) in trying to bring this wonderful costume to life. I know that there's a good few people out there who have tried over the years (myself included), I'm just pleased that all the planets have aligned , the heavens have opened and everything is in the right place and he's agreed that this time 'round it FEELS RIGHT. We all know that this is not a new idea, there's hundreds if not thousands of like mided souls out there who have all thought the same, "Wouldn't it be BRILLIANT if you could get a set of McQuarrie armour?" I've always felt that way, and that 'itch' was made even worse when I first started following the 'Work In Progress' pictures of Jason's (Skygunbros) beautiful concept helmet many years ago. And yerp!, there was no let up when I got my grubby little mits on one of his fantastic creations, that nagging, nagging craving feeling just-tahh kept on coming....I NEEEEDS it,....I WANTS it,.....can't you see I'm suffering HERE!!,....I'm Jonesing REEEEEEL bad, won't someone help?....anybody??? There is now a light at the end of the tunnel......and I can't wait to bask in all it's GLORY! (can I get an AMEN!!!)
  6. ...you forgot to mention the strategically placed Hero lid and the naughty RS PPE helmet that just wouldn't stay in one place and tried to get in the picture whenever it could (minds of their own, those little rascals ) Steve, great figures mate, some really nice detail on there
  7. Phil The one shown is STILL correct mate, (as it was back in 2009 ) The advised colour for Ab butoons is No;-14 'French Blue' Sam You are right mate, there are many, many details that are not specified in the CRL's for EIB or Centurion but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be included when people are building their armour. Research in to the costume (what ever that is) should ALWAYS be paramount and the 'Golden Source' in respect to that costume should always be the originals (regardless of peoples interpretations of it)
  8. Yerrp, we have a couple of guys in the UKG with 'em and they work quite well. It all depends on the set up, Graham Robert-G4Tyrant as one on his BRILLIANT General Veers and its pretty loud with no distortion. Another guy as it on a TK and it's not so good, kindaa weak and muffled. They are two different units and makes, so there are some variables to take into account. I think it's a case of trying it out and playing around and seeing what works best.
  9. Looks like a '71 Plymouth Satellite cloned into a Roadrunner (get it! ) One cool car , regardless of what you may think of the the owners taste in lids
  10. Guys, I'm amazed that no one as mentioned Sandeman - Clay and the brilliant little suits and blasters that he made for his beautiful little daughter Sophia http://www.whitearmo...2859#entry92859 http://www.whitearmo...__fromsearch__1 http://www.whitearmo...__fromsearch__1 There is also some really good info on TK409's site under the section 'Mini Trooper Costume' http://www.tk409.com/tk409.html and some great stuff on SL-9160 -Rob Carmichael's website here http://www.omahajedi...mtrooper_ii.htm Can't wait to see an army of little TK's out there
  11. .....learning by example, the Next Generation of the UKG... Phil Parker, Billy Haggis, Pete Brebner, circa 2011 Steve Weir, Pete Billups, Billy Haggis circa 2012 .....us TK's always seem to be getiing in to some sort of bother no matter how old we are
  12. Well, that might be a bit hard mate as both Chewcy (Paul) and geordietrooper (Rob) are both classified as ‘Retired’ (inactive for more than 2 years) with the 501st and don’t really frequent the UKG forum that often (if at all). Plus, funny as it might be, the picture is just a mistake that Paul was probably unaware of . Looking at his latest listings of his collection that he’s selling it was probably meant to be this:- Star Wars ANH TE Stormtrooper Helmet 1/1 Movie prop replica
  13. Glenn, so glad you "believe it to be true" mate....'coz it IS Anthony Check out TM's thread and my pic's for full details mate. http://www.whitearmo...tonators-run-2/
  14. Why play on the field when you can shout from the sidelines....... Kev, I love the GG Bust and the action figure but not quite sure that they caught it just right with some of the detail and their interpretations. There are a few things that kind of bug me when you look at the drawings up against the GG bust, the shoulder bells being one of ‘em. I think they got the shape and form wrong, especially the pronounced bulge at the tops. Also feel that they missed out on some detail with the arms at the elbow, in the drawings there appears to be an additional section between the biceps and forearms. If I’m hyper critical then I’d say that the chest detail is too pronounced and should be a lot softer and less defined as seen in the drawings. And, yerrp, those shoulder bridges are totally wrong Pete, Loving those boots, they look brilliant,.....and DEFINITELY grey for the sole without a doubt .
  15. Jaymz You can think and say what you like mate, the armour IS recast RS, there are far too many unique parts and 'tells' that distinguish it from a TE derived suit. The only 'up grade' MOT as made is to make a new set of molds from a set of RS armour, that's it, FULLSTOP!! Debate away the 'rights and wrongs' of it all as much as you like, but there's no getting away from the fact that it is what is. .
  16. .....I always think of good ol' Mutley when I hear things like this http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/Billhag/GIFS/shades.gif ---------
  17. Vern, They were concept drawings and as with most designers concept drawings you will always have variations on a theme. He provided ideas and storyboards for scenes, scenarios, characters and costumes from the outline of what Lucas gave him and used his brilliantly creative imagination and skill to bring them to life. All the drawings available containing Stormtroopers concentrated more on the ‘scene’ than the minutia of the costume, sure they were a key part but not necessarily the main subject of the drawing. As Pete said, there IS a reoccurring theme to the armour in the drawings, OK all the details are not consistent but there is an overall essence of what he was trying to portray, and THIS is what we are trying to tap in to and bring this armour to life. You can have your opinions and argue, and even mock and try and put down others for their perspective on this, but the route that you are taking on this is totally wrong mate. Pete, some cool ideas there mate, loving it!! .
  18. Steve, that's not a McQuarrie original mate. Great though it is, this was drawn by a different artist paying homage to Ralph and his brilliant concept drawings. (note the scribble at the bottom "with apologies to R,M,")
  19. Also loving the shin idea mate and totally agree that this should not be 'over sized' and should stay as faithful as possible to the essence of Ralph's concept drawing. There are of course plenty of additionals that could be added later (back pack, holster, etc)
  20. .....and that Ladies and Gentlemen is how it should be done.
  21. .....now I wonder who sorted all that out? ...errm? Congratulations mate and welcome to the fighting 501st .
  22. Good to see one of my old 'Billagrams' popping up as a reference, and nice to know that they're still doing what they were intended to.
  23. Sod the side gaps and whether it’s right or wrong for approval for one accolade or another,... that Sir, is one frigging SAHHH-WEEEET build. I doff my hat to you in respect and appreciation of such fine and outstanding work. See, folks now that’s what’s achievable when you take your time, do your research, ask the right questions and seek, and more importantly, listen and take onboard advice and information from the RIGHT people who really do know what they are talking about. Si, the only ‘Nit-Pick’ (apart from a little tweak here and there to get it to sit better) is the drop boxes. Ohh, and maybe get 3-4 coats of shoe whitener on the belt to get it looking pretty darn sexy Of course you do know that in addition to my Armoury role in the UKG, I am now Deputy GML, which means I get to approve (or reject) potential members submitted costumes, ..........mate, this one’s a ‘no brainer’ PS Loving the black pan heads,...nice touch .
