  1. Just be careful whom you order from on Amazon, as there was at least one seller (who apparently is no longer active) that used Anovos photos to market his product, but what was shipped was very different (and much worse).
  2. I plan to do a Jakku trooper myself (CALL IN THE AIR STRIKE!), so I'll be watching this one with great interest. Seems that the last piece that is not yet available is the Snowtrooper backpack. I also appreciate seeing your technique in prepping and installing the center chest detail. Those weren't available when I built my kit (Alpha 75), but I was able to acquire one and installing it is on my list of upgrades. Will you be using the standard size F-11D w rifle stock, or are you getting one of the upsized versions that T5H recently made available for printing?
  3. I agree with Chris - your best bet for larger shoulder bells is probably AM 2.0. Thing is, I don't know if they sell individual parts.
  4. You can cut them out for increased accuracy, but it is not required.
  5. To be perfectly honest, if you have a set of untouched, non-modified (still have the plastic belt, incorrect ab buttons, etc.) I would keep it as is for now. Reason I say that is in looking at the Rogue One trailer stills, if you wanted to do a movie-accurate Rogue One version TK, an unmodified FX kit (with an AM 2.0 helmet) IMO looks like the best way to start.
  6. Congrats! Shins look fine as far as I can tell. Make sure you post up here in order to get full access to the FISD forum: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/
  7. Book as early as possible (as in RIGHT NOW), and take advantage of as many special deals as you can - for instance, military/veterans' discounts. As for a budget, I'd say $2k at a minimum - more if you plan on flying and/or staying at a Disney resort hotel. Disney World is expensive ...
  8. We typically do an FISD group photo. All the HWTs can meet up for the larger group photo, take a HWT-specific group photo prior to or following the overall group photo, and go from there on your patrol.
  9. The VIP passes sell out very quickly, but the general admission passes tend to be available all the way up to a few weeks prior to the convention. There will also be people who buy early but later realize they are unable to attend and need to unload their passes. Of course given all the Star Wars mania between The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and everything else - and with the con being scheduled during Spring Break (at least it'll be Spring Break here in the D.C. area) - all bets are off.
  10. Last year the basic 4-day passes were $140 for adults. Of course we'll have to start planning an FISD group photo - and I already know exactly where we will do it.
  11. Here is what the vest looks like with two of the Flyye side pouches mounted. The drop boxes look like, well, drop boxes. The extra fabric (not shown) is just black uncoated 1000D Cordura - which is what the vest itself is made from.
  12. If anyone wants to give this a go, I have the following parts available right now - PM me for costs: - 3 vacuformed white plastic boxes - a couple of Flyye side pouches (not accurate but useful) - enough matching uncoated black Cordura 1000D fabric for you to create your own accurate pouches and do some of the other required mods. - the raw vest itself As an aside, I just checked both airsoft.com and ebay - the black vests are still unavailable.
  13. That belt replacement trick in not needing to remove the rivet caps is an excellent idea.
  14. About the only way you can get one is to have someone do a cast of the part.

  16. Been seeing a lot of SWCA nostalgia on FB today (which makes me happy). Given that this was one year ago today, I figured I've give this thread a friendly bump. This was the highpoint of my SWCA experience, the con itself being the highpoint of my 2015. Looking forward to a repeat in Orlando (rumor has it) next year. With all the Anovos kits flooding in since then (both OT and TFA) we should easily be able to double our efforts.
  17. Blizzard Force is currently completing a racing shirt run, but with shirts that have been partially redesigned to reflect TFA snowtroopers. Will this new run be the same design as the last two runs, or will it be TFA-redesigned? In my mind, a TFA-inspired redesign would look the same from the front, but the back would mimic the TFA stormtrooper backplate design and the sides and epaulets would have the First Order cog.
  18. Andrew Liptak (TK 3220) wrote a pretty good rundown as well: http://io9.gizmodo.com/so-you-want-to-join-the-empire-what-we-learned-about-t-1769841460
  19. Gonna leave this here ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rit9p4oOub4&feature=youtu.be Video no longer available
  20. As I understand, the events of Rogue One happen right before ANH picks up.
  21. On the other hand, if there are any unmodified old-school FX kits still out there, I can see them suddenly coming back into demand.
